No they chased him down the street.
It is the sit down interviews you get paid for...imo

I didn't see many sit down interviews... I saw NC's friend, is all. i may be missing something tho

I don't know exactly, but I would think not unless there had been negligence. You don't have grounds to sue just because something turned out badly.

Neglect.

Sure she did JLZ.
Why tell the media fibs in a released statement?

I think I missed your irony. Thank goodness for the media or women wouldn't know *who* we were marrying.

Because she's complicit and could have been charged with participation, receiving stolen goods or something. I think that's what you're implying.

  • #844
I thought it was also asserted that KL wasn't paid "money". I imagined they cleaned up her yard and gave her a case of grog.

this made me laugh! terrible i know...

But what is NC going on about when she says a lot of people have made money. I think she's a little fantastical...

  • #845
They would.

It is.

I don’t think so from the Supreme Court documents.

I don’t know.

I feel a sense of detached empathy for her situation, of course.

me too, detached until the truth is known....

Something like that?

Oh she probably just means the foster parents.

Do you think they made money from that interview? I find that 'concerning', considering their wealth. jeez, i hope not! unless the $ is put into a campaign to find him, of sorts. I can't fathom this... :(

  • #849
The bio family accusing FP of neglect?

They certainly wouldn't get legal aid for that one.

I wonder if that would even be possible, given William’s in-care status?

I doubt it.

I just can't get past how quickly ALL the parents were cleared. Have LE ever thought of inviting some of the FBI to come here and do a independent investigation. I have heard of this happening in other countries. I personally have always found the foster parents and grandparent to be rather fishy. The whole dragging WT out of school for an out of the blue visit to grandma? The timing of the foster dad leaving to go into town for better phone reception? The grandmas ties to pedophiles? The timing of it all seems weird to me. According to the foster mum WT was around the front for 5 mins or less. So that means there was a tiny window of time for a bad guy or guys. To be driving down a dead end and grab him with virtually no sound. I just can't get past the odds of it all.

But I bet NC does.

Well, maybe they could? He did go missing under their care, as per under the state's care. I'd be furious if i were them

BBM isn't the FBI American? I doubt they'd come here...

Again, quotes from DCI Jubelin’s presser on 12 September 2017:

‘(09:58) R:

'Mr Jubelin, on the subject of William's foster care, have you been able to rule out involvement by the foster family or the natural family in his disappearance?'

(10:08) GJ:

'The simple answer to that, yes. I'm standing here saying I have ruled out the foster carer parents and I have ruled out the biological parents as being involved in this investigation.'’

‘(11:53) R:

'Are the majority of those suspects sex offenders?'

(11:58) GJ:

'I think we need to keep an open mind in regards to this. There's an assumption right from the start, that a three year old child's been abducted that may, or may not, be the sexual predator. We're keeping an open mind to that. I can't break down specifically how many persons of interest are on the basis of suspicion attached to their sexual interests in children but I do want to stress this is a unique investigation. I'm very mindful that we've looked at all possibilities and I keep an open mind to it.

I hear stories from overseas of situations where children have disappeared for decades and the turned up in circumstances. I also hear stories of incidents have occurred that are by accident and been covered up and then revealed. So, we are keeping an open mind to it and our focus is not just on sex offenders or, let's break it down; paedophiles. We're not just looking at that aspect of it.

And we're also mindful that our research tells us that the child, at the age of three, doesn't necessarily fit into the parameters of childless couples where young babies have been abducted. It's that unique nature of this investigation that's making this particularly trying.'

‘(15:16) R:

'You mentioned those(?) overseas cases. Have you been in touch with investigators in other cases around the world, for example, Madeline McCann?'

(15:24) GJ:

'I won't go into the specifics of the people that I've spoken to but, yes, we have spoken to identified experts overseas in relation to this. Anyone that we believe could value add to the investigation, we're open to speaking to them.

One thing that has done speaking to the experts overseas, is that it's reinforced to us that we're on the right track in the way that we're approaching this investigation.'

‘(20:20) R:

'The Walk for William advocates have been talkimg today about a potential bush track escape route from the bush to the highway. Is something about that coming up here?'

(20:35) GJ:

'Look, there's a lot of people who make commentary on this. I'd say, I'd say, we're the ones investigating the matter, we're fully aware of the circumstances. We know what happened in Kendall and around Kendall and all the bush tracks. That's pure speculation on their behalf.'’

I think it's been ascertained that the FF did have to go elsewhere for a conference call. I don't think the trip was out of the blue, just one day earlier

Kim Loweke is from Wellington, where Bill Spedding lived for some years.
Kim shared a house with Debbie Gardoll (who was married to Tony Jones in the past).
Debbie's brother also shared a house with them at one stage.
Kim knows Bill in passing, from two interactions concerning a washing machine purchased for her daughter and a fix-it job for Kim. She has made a lot of this connection in the media, but it's about the same level of depth as my connection with a plumber who fixed my downpipes last week - a very tenuous link.
Tony Jones lived across the street from the Speddings in Wellington a long time ago, but they only spoke once when Tony's house burnt down and the Speddings gave them a cuppa and a blanket while the fire was being dealt with.
As for Tony's wife, she would certainly have known about various activities of her husband, perhaps excluding the sexual ones.

It appears that Kim has actively sought out a 'friendship' with NC well after William went missing. They most likely haven't known each other for long.

Their wealth. :gaah:

BBM

It amazes me how people keep saying this like they are multi millionaires. They had an old fibro house in an affluent suburb, probably purchased when they were younger - a good buy from a Real Estate point of view.

Now they have made additions and are probably mortgaged to the hilt, like many these days.

A 3 bedroom house in the Western Suburbs of Sydney is worth well over $1mil these days (my relatives sold over 12 months ago for more).

I know people that just bought a house for around the $1mil mark (not even in Sydney), they will pull the house down and build from scratch. They are not what I consider wealthy - they both work hard.

What is considered Wealthy these days?
