I shared quite some time ago my husbands experience as a little boy in only grade three at the hands of a disgusting paedophile school teacher. The court case 20 plus years later was harrowing for him. You never get over it. The perpetrator got 2 years in prison. There were 6 victims . He is dead now .

Unfortunately these "animals" are absolutely everywhere, in all levels of society...............I just don't understand it at all ( & don't want to either ) ............

The hardest part of the court case for my husband was that this once young teacher who perpetrated these horrible crimes to these little boys was now an old stooped little old grey haired man. My husband (who has incredible empathy) couldn't look at him as he was scared he would feel sorry for the little old man he now was. He had to keep the image in his head of the 30 year old monster he was. My husband remembered a lot of what happened to him but in court he found out from others recounts that he was present in more abuse. The mind is wonderful that it can block some traumatic events . So sad.

Paedophiles are everywhere. No shape nor form or definition of why they have that inclination. Some act on it and some don't . It's very scary

Are some people in society just born like that ? I remember watching an Oprah show many moons ago. She had a self confessed paedophile as a guest, he had never never done anything wrong in terms of subjecting a child to abuse but said he felt he was a threat to society because he had those thoughts . He had never done anything but knew his tendencies were completely wrong.

That alibi would only be water tight if he can prove he had no involvement at all, with the abduction, police have never said whether or not Spedding was verified as being there at the time have they.

Because of such a lack of info - i haven't heard the police mention his alibi - being true or untrue. Was he there at the school? Surely Rosann knows, it seems strange they investigated his home & place of work... but has anyone come forward to say he was at the school around 10.30? no idea...

Can't think that anyone would have taken it with them purposely at time of WT disappearance, they would need to be clairvoyant to have known to bring it as that's what the child would be wearing etc etc..but with all the media hype, there's definitely something they're trying to portray to us. Maybe it is that it may have used it to coax a child to over. But sounds a bit unlikely. Wouldn't you get rid of it quick smart if you used in such a serious crime?

Btw, my dumb dog is fine 24 hours after eating the frog. After visiting the vet this morning and $90 later, it was determined he would have spat it out .

The LE were investigating a sex ring for some time, but it fell out of favour. Can someone tell me how long from WT disappearance to how long they investigated BS home & business? Was it after the sex ring fell out of favour? If so that is maybe what we could call a "clue" Not definite on that, just a meek IMO

I think that if his alibi held water, in any way, he would not have been put under the scrutiny he has been under. He would not have been splashed all over the media. He would have been cleared as a POI, in this case.

If the police thought he was 'merely' a part of a bigger plan. I think they would have been a lot quieter about their actions. Put a gag on the media, put Spedding under 24/7 surveillance, allowed him some movement, monitored him in every way that they could, followed the trail.
Instead they have done quite the opposite.

They have him bundled where his movements are strictly limited, he must report to the police regularly, they allow the media to speak of him at every opportunity ..... (except now of course, due to subjudice).

Whether they are born that way or not, who knows? Hard to get into a person's brain and find out the whole truth.

One thing is for sure, their actions are an extreme and hurtful abuse of power.

This case really interests me hey. How did someone driving down a no exit street simply take this kid so easily>? Was it a tradesperson? A local? What on earth happened here.

It's not actually a "no exit" street. There is an exit into the bushland (for a 4wd) just about 60 metres from William's driveway... there are also many walking tracks. The driving tracks lead into the "kendall forrest" & they are hard going tracks. A good 4wd would have minor trouble. My all wheel drive CX5 had trouble but only at the exit near william's house, but the track improved from about 50 metres in... anyone with a better vehicle could leave kinda quickly

Following a call from CrimeStoppers, the homicide squad turned their attention on Mr Spedding in mid-December without knowing about the December 9 FACS inquiry.

Police have investigated some alleged inconsistencies in what he told them about his movements on September 12 but have stressed the search of Mr Spedding’s home and business was just one line of inquiry and not a breakthrough in the baffling case.................

The same month Port Macquarie detectives tried to contact her, she said, adding that she was horrified when she saw news reports of police searching the Speddings’ home.

If he was at the school for the entire concert that would be good enough for me.
If I was at the concert and I’d seen him there, I’d be speaking up for him loudly. Surely someone would speak up.
If I was BS and I knew I was at the concert, And the police knew it, id demand , through my lawyer if necessary, that the police confirm it publically.
Silence is golden huh.
