Tony Jones told his family he was going out to get fuel to help search for the little boy. However, he never followed through.
Which car was he intending to fuel up? His wifes car?

Detectives interviewed Jones while he was in custody in April and questioned him about any involvement in William's disappearance.
It is understood Jones told police and family he was "out bush" collecting scrap metal on the day William went missing from Kendall.
Detectives also questioned Jones' estranged wife about his movements..............

Last month police seized a white station wagon from Jones' neighbours' house for forensic examination.
It is understood police initially believed the car, which belonged to Jones' estranged wife, had been disposed of but police later learnt it had been given to neighbours.

They also identified 12 persons of interest as a result....................

Jones' criminal history, tendered as part of his sentencing in the Port Macquarie District Court last week, detailed a lengthy rap sheet, including assault, break and enter and driving charges.
His former wife said she only learnt of the extensive criminal history after reading about it in the media. arghhhh

"The decision to remove him from the family home was an easy one.
"There was no hesitation and he will never be a part of this family again nor will he be a part of his siblings' and mother's life."

Well my jaw didn't drop.

Actually I am just more confused.

So AJ was not living his wife. But his wife said she had no trouble putting him out the home.
He was living with his relative Katrina.
The neighbour and AJ's wife shared the car.
But AJ drove it sometimes without his ex - wifes permission.

He said he was at the neigbours fixing the hot water system.
So is that his wifes neighbour or Katrinas neighbour?

But he drove the shared car without her permission.



The estranged wife of a man named as a person of interest in the William Tyrrell investigation has described being questioned over the suspected abduction case as "beyond comprehension"........
The woman, who has asked not to be named, found out in September last year that her husband Anthony Jones had been charged with indecently assaulting a child.
She kicked him out of the family home in Wauchope after learning of the shocking allegations.

So his wife found out and made the easy decision and kicked him out before the day William disappeared. Or Katrina lives under the same roof as AJ and his ex wife.
Because according to his ex wife they all flicked him the day he was arrested for assaulting the child and Katrina is friends with the victims family.

From watching again, I couldn’t hear Katrina being involved in the victims family, actually don’t recall mention of any of his victims as to why he was jailed .

Have missed that connection . But it seems to me that she is possibly related to AJ, his victim may have been another family member ?

You might be right. There could be 2 Katrina's. But it looks to be her that was spokesperson the day AJ was sentenced.
Jones was arrested 3 days after William vanished.

Though she was said to be former family friend.

A friend of the victim’s family, Katrina Cherry, who was in court, said the sentence brought some relief: “There’s one less of him on the street.’’
Ms Cherry said she and Jones’ relatives had been questioned extensively by police investigating William Tyrrell’s disappearance.

He said he arrived home drunk at lunch time. So he must of been doing the labor intensive job pissed.
Anyways he would not have had to drive home from the neighbours ....

Lies, extremely defensive behaviour, threats. Surely this case has to be close to breaking open?

If we can poke holes in his story then you would think hardened detectives would tear him a new one. Same goes for Spedding. Also by the time they searched Jones’s wife’s car they would have had PLENTY of time to wash it with bleach to remove ANY evidence. I know they thought it had been destroyed but they should of seen actual proof it had been destroyed before giving up.

I have a feeling they know who did it. They just don’t have enough evidence.
