Got a feeling if it was any one from Benaroon Drive or street close by, speeding through Kendall. Someone would have said to the police - yeah Fred that nob from whatever street ... was gunning it in his 4WD through the streets at about 10:30 am that morning.
If the 4WD is relevant - I am thinking it was owned by someone or being driven by someone from a little bit further from the quiet little village.
imo

I was speaking of the other vehicle in the van pic, not the van.

And the other is a Kia Carnival? I couldn't see any distinguishing items to tell me what the vehicle is.

The other vehicle in the photo is also the Kia Carnival. Definitely no white 4wd in either photo.

Kia Carnival is not a 4WD then I take it? Would a person who observed it necessarily know it wasn't? I think I'd be just as likely to describe it as a 4WD because of its height . . . but I'm unusually ignorant about cars.

You could be right. Thats a reasonable assessment.

No it isn't. I think this actually shines a light on a real problem here. Some people on this forum are so keen to have BS found guilty of William's abduction that they are seeing evidence where there is none. I would not think the police would release details about a white 4wd unless they were very certain it was one. (eg. I saw a white 4wd speeding around that time, as against, I saw a large white vehicle speeding around that time, it could have been a 4wd). I thinkwe all need to take a step back and look for all the evidence and not just what we want to see.

BBM - If that was what was reported to them, that's what they have to report.

Many people would consider that as a 4WD IMO

BBM. I would actually have said the opposite. To me a people mover like the Kia Carnival or a Tarago is obviously NOT a 4wd. The majority of the people I know would definitely know the difference.

louisepiglet you have read my mind. It often seems the cart is put before the horse. Evidence and tip offs should be investigated leading to a suspect. Not the other way round.

I do think the majority of Kendall rural/regional type people would be quite clued up on the difference between a 4wd and a people mover.

It would all depend on how closely the person that reported it, looked at it, and how long after the fact that it was reported. As a memory flashback/afterthought, I don't think people would differentiate that keenly between a 4WD or people mover. IMO

You might be a car person that knows the difference, many don't.

What are your theories on William’s disappearance? I truly would like to know.
Better to put those forth than be critical of others. imo

I found the pic when I was trying to find out what Spedding’s 3rd vehicle was, days before the 4WD came up again. So I shared. If you have other ideas, please put them forward.

And Josie, I think I have mentioned about a million times the things that I personally feel point to Spedding. (No 4WD - or people mover, to those who do not know cars - included. :D )

I didn't even know a people mover was not a 4x4 ... how about that? Could have been, for all I know. I had to look it up. No joke.

Being one of those people that does not know one car from another.
I would be able to give the shade and a bit of a description.
Unless it were a vehicle that clearly appeared capable of going bush ...no way - I would say a 4WD.

But I am learning..:)

I never thought the 4WD was relevant. I actually don't think the 'cars on the street' are, either. But I know I have said that before. :)

I actually think that Spedding's work van was an enticement and interest to little William, and that is why he allowed himself to be carted off (not that a little tike has much chance against a grown adult). If a 4WD is involved, it will blow my own personal theory right out of the water.

I am rather interested as to whether that speddo van was actually at Dunbogan at around 2pm.
Was there any sightings of that?

Well actually given he says he was in Laurieton all morning was it spotted there?
Pretty familiar vehicle surely someone would have recalled seeing it.
