That's what always had me wondering about Col...he only ever told parts of the story and withheld the really interesting bits.

I sometimes wonder why did he even mentioned Coonababran.

I am rather interested as to whether that speddo van was actually at Dunbogan at around 2pm.
Was there any sightings of that?

Well actually given he says he was in Laurieton all morning was it spotted there?
Pretty familiar vehicle surely someone would have recalled seeing it.

I am also interested to know exactly what vehicle was seen entering the fire trail off Houston Mitchell Drive around the time that William went missing. It evidently interested the police enough for them to do a 3-day search of the area. So, I take it that it was not a vehicle that is usually seen maintaining the fire trails, or heading into the forest to do a little 4-wheeling.

Mr Youngberry said ............ It could take up to a fortnight for forensic analysis to come back and clear Mr Spedding of any involvement, he said: “That is a long time to be kept hanging.”

Local police superintendent Paul Fehon said it was right and proper that police follow through on leads to rule out any forensic links.

i know, i saw this years ago when the white 4wd was mentioned and just had a feeling when reading all the locals telling their views of the event and what they were doing etc, it just niggles away as a scenario

There is also a white fwd parked in driveway of CY property in Lakewood via google earth.

It’s a station wagon and not an SUV.

Bill and Margaret married 28 years ago after both having children with previous partners.

Until four years ago Spedding, an electrician, and Margaret had lived in western NSW at Coonabarabran and Wellington. Four years ago they moved back to the mid-north coast, where Margaret was raised.
