Maybe BC has been shovelling in the area, but it is not unusual I would think if other families of victims have been known to do this on weekends when not knowing what has become of their loved ones.

I know poor Matty Levenson’s parents went out searching for his remains a number of times. The difference may be that detectives knew about their digging.

Maybe detectives even suggested where they should dig, based on the evidence they had.

From what I recall of the article the shovel seemed to be found around the 1st day of the search when the toy was found. Funny how a) the police haven't mentioned it and it has furtively been reported today. b) BC felt the need to finally address the media and tell of his shovelling. I know we don't know where BC was shovelling but it makes me think he was followed as soon as he got out of jail and this case might start to turn a bit Keisha Abramsish...... but it can't because he has been cleared.

Might do but not pointing fingers at BC (or KT or FP, as per WS’ TOS and the fact that DCI Jubelin said they were cleared) ;)

Police may not have mentioned it. From recall, they haven't mentioned anything they have found ... even though the media have reported the toy, and The Project mentioned 'other items' were found with/near the toy on their show the other night.

I agree that it is an uncanny coincidence that Brendan felt the need to speak to the media about his digging, and Natalie felt the need to come out with a large verbal suggestion that the search is not necessary and a big waste of taxpayer dollars.

Personally, I think that Brendan is not real balanced. His unusual actions do not set off any alarms bells in me. But they definitely will have to be checked out by the police. Everything has to be checked out by the police.

Having said that .... I wonder if Brendan has heard through any sources about possible happenings in the Kendall State Forest. He would have enough 'other kinds' of sources who may hear things on a different grapevine. It could be a tip given to him, not directly to the police. Which is why Jubes can say that he hasn't received a tip, and instead says that they have over 15,000 pieces of information and a large database that they use. I truly feel that Jubes has been using a play on words about this.

Interesting how the article about the shovel was buried within the paper, isn't it?

When did BC actually have an interview with the media about his digging and being sorry etc? He says a sentence like, "I don't know who took you in your spiderman suit." And the FF was also reported as saying, " Where's my little spiderman?" Just something I notice that really seems skew if to me, having had two litlle spidey boys myself, I just don't think I would identify my son so much with the character suit he was in if he went missing. But I am not in their shoes. I know Jubes makes no apology for putting people under pressure, but there are other people I would really like to see publicly put under pressure in this case. IMO

I don't think you have to worry about that. I think the whole lot of them are under pressure. Nobody is skating free in this. imo

Police can legitimately keep their hand in everywhere with case updates and victim support. Also, with random questions to POIs.

Good points. I can't imagine an unhealthier place to be than sitting in a jail with lots of others who have heaps of time for speculation on the biggest missing persons case in NSW and the types of information you could hear. If he hasn't been talking about WT til now, I can only imagine the amount of crazy he has going on inside him to keep it all suppressed.

The search will cover a lot of angles and pressure in many directions, I agree.

And don’t forget their attack dogs; ie, MSM ;)

Yes, well MSM certainly drip feed the info that the police want out there, don't they? Toy, other items, shovel .... line searches, sniffer dogs, soil samples, evidence bags .... then suddenly interviews are published involving Brendan and Natalie and their opinions and actions.

It is certainly carefully orchestrated. imo

Which convinces me more and more that Jubes’ comments are directed at specific people and not the general public. We are now mere spectators.

RSBM

It seems that the interview was on Thursday this week. The day after they found the toy .... and 'other items' (according to The Project).
Interesting timing, if one of those other items was the shovel.

The missing boy’s father Brendan Collins gave a powerful message to his son when he spoke to The Daily Telegraph today.
Toy found in search for William

I remember seeing pics of Kyle Coleman's parents and family/friends in their 4WDs, loaded up with all kinds of supplies and equipment, as they went out into the Mt Isa outback each weekend in their relentless search for their murdered son. Kyle has never been found. :(

Not on ACA ( think they were hoping but he refused ) .............total beat up as usual

What was all that about?
Yes it was on nine news but it was the ACA reporter chasing him for answers. Once again, Taylor Auerback was darting around in the background.
BC looked really clean, tidy and I kind of feel the comment he made was very reasonable. "There is a time and a place." he said.
Maybe there is an exclusive to come.

Certainly will be good when this case gets to a court, because even that process is going to take a year or two, no doubt.

I really think Jubes is going for a criminal conviction, more than an inquest.
I think he will 'settle' for an inquest, if he has to. If the Prosecutor still will not proceed after this massive search.
