And yet his status remains at POI, whilst 4, or a handful of unnamed suspects have come to light during the most recent searches. Quite a few trees being shaken as it turns out.

Seems Spedding is being called both a suspect and a POI in these articles.

HOMICIDE detectives are focusing on five “high priority” suspects linked to the disappearance of toddler William Tyrrell.
The Australian reported that the first high-profile suspect in the investigation remains “a person of interest” but there are also four other “high priority” suspects being looked at, with an inquest set to begin this year.

Following William’s disappearance, the man was identified as a prime suspect by police after they learned he had been at the home days earlier to quote on a washing machine repair and returned a week later to complete the job.

Police hone in on five suspects relating to William Tyrrell’s disappearance

The Australian understands the first high-profile suspect in the investigation remains “a person of interest” but there are also four other “high priority” suspects being looked at, with an inquest set to begin this year.

Following William’s disappearance, the man was identified as a prime suspect by police after they learned he had been at the home days earlier to quote on a washing machine repair and returned a week later to complete the job.

The man provided police with DNA swabs and was subsequently charged with unrelated offences. But he has always maintained he had nothing to do with the boy’s disappearance.

It also has these two banners at the very top of the report

Police looking at four other ‘high priority’ suspects with inquest to begin this year
POLICE are focusing on five “high priority” suspects linked to the disappearance of toddler William Tyrrell ahead of an inquest.

Whilst The Australian is a reliable source generally, the news.com.au often falls short IMO.

* Two of Nsw most senior officers Craig Lambert and Gary Jubelin both keen boxers and experience martial artists have had a heated argument during an operational briefing.
* The argument was witnessed by other officers.
* Papers were thrown and words exchanged.
* No complains have been made by any officer. But conflict resolution is being undertaken by nsw police.
* Jubelin is straight talking and beloved by victims families.

* Det Lambert is said to have written the first policy on the handling of knife attacks on police.

* A three week search took place in June to rule out any chance of accident and that nothing was missed in the William Tyrrell case.

* A more recent search completed - with the plan to progress to the coronial inquest.

* Compelling witnesses to give evidence.

* Attracting immense public interest and pressure. The investigation is the most intensive and resourced case of the past decade.

I can't even access one article a day from this media outlet. Why would this be in the media I wonder. Everything has been strategy so far. IMO

I guess the moral of the story could be that all relationships/friendships under pressure can cause strained and even fracture.

It was interesting that witnesses being compelled to give evidence was mentioned.

I think this kind of thing can be pretty much par for the course when detectives are involved in an intensive, long term investigation. Something similar happened between Jubes and his partner during the investigation into the murder of Terry Falconer. Jubes is a polarising figure. It has been said that his fellow investigators either love him or hate him but they don’t doubt his abilities as a detective.

Interesting that this story made it into MSM at all and even more interesting that it reported on compelling witnesses to give evidence. It must be getting to the pointy end of the investigation, when tensions run high.

At least their altercation only involved papers being thrown and a few harsh words. I’m sure they’ll ‘kiss and make up’ and get on with the job of solving William’s case once their tempers cool.

As for the reason for Jubes’ and Lambert’s argument, we might read about it in a book one day

Cant find a thing online about Lambert except a radio talkback interview re his presence at time of boston bombing.

It would be interesting to see if Lambert is on either Rosann or Ancud taskforces.

Could be a sign that DCI Jubelin is under extreme stress too. Its close to the anniversary of his fathers death as well.

I dont think it would bode to well in his mind that 3 or more of his cases were bound over to inquest. Bowraville Leveson and Tyrrell. And also lost out re the historic cases re Spedding.

He may get too personally involved with families and make promises and decisions he cannot live up to.

The airing of this spat will not do his reputation any good to cases. POIs will be pleased.

I doubt Jubes would be carrying things around. Probably just a spontaneous spat over BS, like we seem to have here ad infinitum :D

I’m sure both being boxers and martial artists they’ll be able to regain their self-control, shake hands after a yarn and get back to the business of William’s case. POI’s be damned.

I would assume you have all heard about the historic and currently unsolved case known as Mr Cruel in Victoria.

I was very disturbed to find the No 2 SUSPECT in that case lived in Lake Cathie in a caravan park up until June 2014 and fled to canada with his canadian wife.

Yes he left before Williams abduction but why did he choose Lake Cathie to flee to from Victoria?

Then the attempted abduction of 6yo boy in Lake Cathie on 5 march 2015 one day after Long Point Trail search.

Too many things getting linked in this area.

I dont consider DCI Jubelin would act spontaneously in such a described manner with his martial arts trained mind. So too for DS Lambert. Dont belive that for a nano second. Much much more to this story.

Would love to be fly on wall of editors office today!

From the article:

‘“NSW Police Force is managing a conflict resolution process following a verbal disagreement between two officers during an operational briefing,” a police spokesman said. “As passion for the job is an imperative trait for a detective, robust workplace disagreements are not uncommon.

Storm in a teacup. Nothing to see here. It’s all down to someone gossiping and creating drama outside of work.

Occurred at a briefing session that is work related!

Don’t let boxers and martial artists fool you. They are passionate people and often take up the sport as an aid to anger management. Sometimes they lose a little control. They are human after all.

That’s what it said. Who hasn’t had a hissy fit at work? Investigators are often under immense pressure and, as I said, they are human, not superheroes. It’s gossip outside of work that reached a reporter’s ears. Gossip masquerading as crime news. Par for the DT’s course. Page 30 of the same paper is full of it, under the title ‘The Snitch’.
