article points

The exclusive on the 5 September 2015. Named and had pic's of AJ and PB.
We learned about PB's 16 month suspended sentence and that he had a wife Sandra whom he had been with for 47 years. That AJ was awaiting sentence on 14 September 2015.
Also that detectives were probing GAPA, which was formed by Uniting Care Burnside and the Country Women’s Association and that the group received a $15,000 grant from the former Labor government under their ex-president’s tenure, and that PB stepped down as gapa president in 2014 for family reasons.

Police revealed in April they were examining the possibility a paedophile ring was behind William abduction.

what do people in this thread think of the National Missing Persons Week PSA put out this year by the Australian Federal Police? It's powerful.

Yes, it is powerful. Suggesting that people think about what the families go through every single day. The hope that they cling on to.

In Australia, more than 38,000 people are reported missing each year. While most people are found within a short period of time, there remain approximately 1,600 long term missing persons; those who have been missing for more than three months. Missing persons’ cases are investigated by State and Territory police.

That sounds like an awful lot of people reported missing in Australia each year.

Much less than 1% of the population by my reckoning, with William being one of them; missing and, probably, murdered.

.

(Sorry ... long post because the article is paywalled)

There is an article here from 2½ years ago, that states ....

- A child in NSW is abducted/kidnapped every 3 days
- This abduction rate is at its lowest level in at least 20 years
- Abducted children are often victims in domestic disputes involving family members, but some tragically are victims of terrible luck and evil minds

William is mentioned in the article, as one of the children that has sparked a lot of emotion and concern.

There are also other NSW still-missing child cases spoken of in the article ... all are considered, or know to be, abductions.

Amanda Robinson - 14 years old (Ivan Milat is a POI in this case, as he is in the cases of still-missing Robyn Hickie and Beth Goodall)
Bradford Pholi - 10 years old
Gordana Kotevski - 16 years old
Jessica Small - 15 years old
Quanne Diec - 12 years old
Rahma El- Dennaoui - 1½ years old
Helen Karapidis - 10 years old
Kathleen Harris - 15 years old

"According to the Australian Federal Police, there are almost 150 long-term missing children cases currently active across Australia.
Under NSW Police protocol, the Homicide Squad is called in whenever there is a suspicion a missing child has met with foul play.
“We must be notified and we will inject ourselves into it,” Homicide Squad commander Detective Superintendent Mick Willing says.
And that involvement does not end until the case is solved."

There's a little video about William slipped in at the end of this recent article about parental abduction. Great that they're raising awareness for him. An unusual choice of topics in which to do so IMO, considering family has been cleared in Williams case.

Does anyone genuinely believe William remains alive and hidden/held captive somewhere by extended family, friends, sympathisers, etc?

IMO, That all depends on who took him and for what reason?

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I know that's not really helpful, sorry.

No.

I think I’m with you, JLZ. Just like Daniel, I don’t think William was alive for very long at all after he was abducted.

Sadly, I think that you're going to be right. But I hope I'm wrong, depending on what his circumstances are. :(

I suppose we’ll find out at his inquest — unless Jubes and co. can bring charges beforehand.

So what are the "likely" possibilities in this case compared to the more "unlikely" possibilities, which are more rare in the case of a missing 3 yr. old?
Place, time & motive? most probably factor in to it, IMO.
And i personally am still very unclear about all the circumstances surrounding this case, mainly because of conflicting MSM reporting. JMO.

This was an unlikely crime, a rare crime, according to DCI Jubelin:

I want to believe and just can’t give up hope on seeing his little face again so full of life. I realise the chances are so minimal but I’ll never concede that he’s gone until it’s definitively proven. Maybe that’s a coping mechanism

Yeah, I know what you mean, C&L. That tiny little ‘What if ...’ feeling. It still niggles me too.

Why? What is it, that we don't know?
Why this high reward? "On the second anniversary of the disappearance of William Tyrrell, the NSW Government announces a $1 million reward for information"
