He/or MS contacted the witness.
Wow ... how strange (not speaking of the coroner's verdict)![]()

Yeah and he was still granted bail though. They both did .... teamwork.
Mr Spedding was refused bail at Port Macquarie Local Court in April after the magistrate read court documents alleging he had tried to contact one of his alleged victims and asked them to write a character reference for him.
Bill Spedding related to a murdering rapist
They allege his wife Margaret contacted one of the alleged victims by text shortly after he was arrested and said: “It really saddens me you’re involved in this.”

Yeah and he was still granted bail though.
I have often wondered if the witness was perhaps BS's daughter?
Not sure if he had a child with his ex though? But it could be possible?

Most everyone is granted bail these days IMO.
The Justice system isn't anything to go by when talking Bail IMO![]()
Agree, I don't believe that the police did not pursue charges at the time due to the tender age of the victims. If the court was privy to BS interview at the time of the event I think you would find that police did not pursue charges at the time cause they thought JH did it and was in custody anyway, based on the information they had at that time. I think it was very convenient for SFR to not have been able to locate BS original interview, so they could start again and limit the evidence he had access to. IMOBBM, Well i find that really unconscionable considering the tender age of the victims and that those very young girls would no way have had to appear as witnesses before the Court to give evidence. The evidence by investigators should of had should of stood on its own to convict IMO.
So let a child predator off the hook to re offend again on more victims is nonsensical IMO.
And maybe if the issue had of come to resolution back then, the poor young women today would not have to go before a Trial court recently to re live such a horrible event in their lives.
I agree, child abuse is the worst betrayal to inflict on an innocent child. And yes, i feel so sad for all of the victims, and sentencing should fit the crime, and not a slap on the wrist. There are so many horror stories out there i can't even begin to imagine, it's so sad and evil.It is a really messed up case. And I feel very sorry for the girls who had to go through what they went through, and then had to go through it all again in court.
He was refused bail. Then got it later, on a 2nd go-round with a NRL footy lawyer turned judge. That case should have been fairly prosecuted at the time that it happened. imo
It is a crying shame that so many children were abused in the past, and very, very few of them have ever achieved any justice.
It is a crying shame that this kind of court treatment still goes on today. Pedos make me sick, and their flimsy sentences make me sicker, and when they walk away scott free ... well that makes me even sicker.
Yes agree, it does all seem very suss to me too.Agree, I don't believe that the police did not pursue charges at the time due to the tender age of the victims. BBM Local court is like going to the GP, they do a bit of everything and they are a lot more punitive in their decision making. Appealing a decision needs a higher level of court with more specialised knowledge around various laws. the appeal decision for bail was very fair to my mind on the information presented from both sides. And it seems it was wise, BS fronted up to what he had to, didn't skip bail or escape the country. Honestly, it is hard to hear about anyone who sees BS point of view as being some type of uncaring individual who must have something wrong with them, the judge, the wife, the defence lawyer, etc. Maybe he didn't do it. IMOIt is a really messed up case. And I feel very sorry for the girls who had to go through what they went through, and then had to go through it all again in court.

We all believe what we individually believe, then we all know that the Justice system isn't perfect.
Not being able to locate statements from 30 odd years ago isn't that abnormal IMO, filing systems were not what what they are now with technology.
and I don't find it odd that he asked the victim who had a relationship at the time with for a stat dec. He was charged after that. His wife contacted her with an ambiguous statement after he was charged as she obviously had a relationship with the victim as well. I know that evidnce from years ago often goes missing as time goes on longer but I wouldn't say it isn't abnormal. sometimes the practices of 30 years are talked about as if the cops and their methods were in the stone age and they weren't. I wonder if BS was ever given a copy of the transcripts of the interview?

A poster on here (Josie) claimed that he did. Dont know how the poster claimed that, as I have never seen that in MSM. Nor have I ever seen it linked or claimed on WS before.
Yes i have never seen anything about it is MSM either, but was just thinking that would BS have been entitled to receive a copy of them for himself, or if he had a lawyer at the time, if his lawyer might have had a copy?
But perhaps they don't hold onto that information forever if nothing else comes of the allegations?
