Interpet it however you want. It says it is the response to the adoption application (which is called Sole Parental Responsibility).

Sole parental responsibility
Authorised carers now have the option to apply for sole parental responsibility for children and young people who have been in their care for two years or more.

Under legislation proclaimed in March 2004, a sole parental responsibility order gives you most of the powers and responsibilities which, by law, parents have in relation to their children. You could make long-term decisions for the child or young person and decide for yourself about their best interests without the need to consult with the designated agency.

A sole parental responsibility order is a long term order intended to last until the child or young person is 18, and is aimed at increasing their sense of stability. The order requires the consent of the birth parents and the child or young person if they are over 12.

I disagree and using the same KISS principle, the hindrance of other priorities in this case would not have factored into the police "harnessing the power of the media" in different directions to get vital information. IMO
Sorry frogwell, I don’t really understand your post in answer to mine

Let me ask you this Karinna - do you think, at this point in time, they have cleaned up their act enough to have their children returned?

Either one of them.

I don't know, do you?

ETA: What help were the FF offered?

Have no idea, but Bravehearts are backing the FF, so surely they were offered there counseling services if needed and given they were foster carers FACS would've offered them some as well. IMO

Was just asking as some of the things you have said implys you have inside knowledge

Really can't say at this point in time, because BC was supposed to go into therapy for his problems last i read.
And as far as KT is concerned she was also getting some professional help with her problems.
And i'm sure William's disappearance had only exacerbated their problems with re grief they have endured not knowing what has happened to their little boy.
Do you have a link for KT getting help ?

Bravehearts joined the Official campaign in June 2015, almost 12 months after Williams disappearance, so I can't see what offers of help they could have made initially.

IMO - I'm sure FACS would have had to make the some effort to help both sets of parents, what that would be I have no idea.

Also, I don't think Bravehearts are "backing" the Foster family, I think they are backing William - as we all should be.

I have no idea, but i hope so. I hope they are getting all the help they need to be better and move forward in their lives.

If WT and his sister had not been under the care of the minister at the time of disappearance and with no leads in the 1st week, I believe that the carers and the carer's mother and the bio parents would have been in front of every camera doing a police press conference appealing for WT's whereabouts and return and that it could have gathered vital information for the investigation. IMO

I hope so as well, but at this stage I don't think either are well enough to cope. Hopefully in the future.

Not so different from adoption, hey?
Still nothing at all to do with William's disappearance.

Yeah sorry should of worded it differently

Let's all just hope in 10days times we hear some news and an announcement for a coronial inquest to start, so answers are found, William returned to both sets of parents and those responsible dealt with within our pathetic judicial system we have

I don't agree. Putting themselves (both Bio and FF) in front of a camera could have put their other child/children in danger. They didn't know what happened, and still don't.

If the FF knew that William had been hidden before, and possibly thought it could be happening again, they couldn't put their daughter or her brothers in harms way.

But it is a difficult motivation to pass for abduction I'm afraid, from both sides. There is so much we just do not know about the investigation. IMO

I was saying if this wasn't a fostering situation........

I was saying if this wasn't a fostering situation........

But it is, and it's difficult to look at it in any other way. Reactions depend on circumstances and advice given.

I guess in this situation we need to trust in the fact that the FP had a personal representative speaking for them on camera during the 1st week of the search, then the police speaking for them since then ... then them being allowed to speak for themselves in a couple of shadowed TV interviews.

But it isn't adoption, and that was my point, lol.
