And if police were told a repairman was expected to make contact sometime on the day that would have supported Speddings's story that he had tried and could not get thru. That would be verifiable. He tried later and was verified by FM who has said he made contact in the arvo.
To me, that is choosing the bits of the media reports that a person wants to believe, and dispelling the rest of the media reports.
The big question is ... why is Spedding still a leading POI/suspect after all these years? (Along with 4 others, who we are not sure of their names.) What is keeping him in that position? What is it that we do not know?
