I was just looking at one of the pictures of BS's house and noticed the boat along the side. I wonder how often he used it and did any of his mates also have boats? Sorry I'm sure this has already been discussed, I just can't remember.z

I recall us wondering if the boat had been taken away for forensic testing, with the cars, or if it was forensically tested while still at the house.
I guess it would depend if it was found to be still usable/seaworthy. It certainly wasn't being protected with a cover of any kind. But it could have still been a place of concealment.

I'm sure some of his mates would have had boats, living in the area they do. As for BS, he had that boat prior to his move to the mid north coast, so maybe he fancied himself as a fisherman. Who knows.

IMO BS hadn't mentioned where he had been on the day in is first interview soon after William disappeared.

Did he not remember 'soon after' but did months later ?

I wouldn’t be surprised is why the cops ask for several statements because if you’re a liar then need a bloody good memory.

Do you think Margaret would have had to give a statement .. or two .. or three? She wasn't the one who was going to do the repairwork, but she is Spedding's most critical 'witness'.

I was just thinking about that SA. I was wondering if Marg gave a statement and just when she might have given it?

She would have had to verify his alibi.

Doesn't a 10 page statement indicate a lot of information? I have never had to give a statement to police but I would assume that it would be a simple case of what time I went where and who was there. In this case what time at the school, coffee shop and Dunbogan and what route did you take and who was there. What could take up 10 pages? They must have had a lot more questions to ask him. I wonder how many pages others filled up?

When Spedding went back to Fg’s when the cops were there they might have taken a couple of pages and I’m sure they would have called him regularly and then the 10 pager would have been to find the discrepancies.
A liar’s memory fades after 4 months.

She would have had to verify his alibi.

So, she possibly could have had to supply two statements. One after Spedding gave his first statement, and perhaps another after the police were given the info 'they didn't know' until just before the massive searches.

Not really, from all the statements I've given or seen they start with time date who your being interviewed by, their position, where your being interviewed and why etc, your name, address, occupation, etc - that usually takes up a couple of pages. Then each question is a paragraph, each answer is a paragraph and everything is double spaced.

There would be a few questions, but 10 pages isn't a big interview. IMO

Do you think Spedding’s interview at Fg house would have been informal than say him going to the police station for a statement?

I think they would have had a behaviour analyst present at the house when Spedding went back to actually do the repair.

Perhaps the analyst was even the person who liaised with Spedding and escorted him onto the property when he went to do the repair.

They would not have had to say that they were an analyst. Just that they were with the police dept. imo

AFTERWARDS?
Great pick up Dr.
We’ve never noticed that.

I agree ! Well done Dr.

I can't believe I / we haven't previously noticed that 'afterwards' timeframe mentioned.

'Afterwards' or ' Before' - both have been mentioned re this coffee date between BS & MS. .. maybe coffee was had at both times.... by someone ...

IMO, this whole sad situation has been riddled with so many inconsistencies from the very beginning, whether by MSM reporters, BS himself, or his stooges CY & RS (who perhaps were just trying to be loyal to a family member who told them he wasn't involved in William's disappearance )

I personally get a huge headache whenever I try to make sense of it! and I'm not privvy to a fraction of what the investigating team must be trying to map out.

Hopefully the rules, regulations & demands of the Inquest will fill in the 'blanks' for Det Jubelin, and allow him to deliver the answers & justice that he's so committed to.

BTW, does anyone here know if CY is still married to MS cousin ?
* My intention with this question is not to sleuth her, however I've a feeling they may have split some time ago - and I wonder if discussions over 'inconsistencies' may have impacted... just all My Own Musings ...

I think he would have been asked questions prior to his return to the house.

First questions to FF would be who was here recently, who rang or who did you ring. He would have been interviewed initially in the first few days IMO.

I wonder what Spedding said when he ordered the washing machine part. "Can I have it by Thursday morning, mate? I need it for a job I have booked for Friday morning. Lady needs her washer before her family arrives for the weekend"?

Perhaps there is a little notation in the order that the part must go out right away ... urgent job.

There could be at least several small corroborating details that, when put together, make Spedding's planned attendance at grandma's on Friday morning not just a he-said, she-said thing.
yes the part i cant get over is him leaving an old lady who had family coming and had an operation with no fixed washing machine..to me that says he is not a very caring man at all imo..and why ring back in the afternoon after saying he was glad she didnt answer phone in the morning as he didnt want to do it that day or over the weekend.. still imo..and 1st ive seen written that Earlier in the day, Mr Spedding also had some work in nearby Dunbogan, Colin said. would anyone know who it was in Dunbogan?

Don't know the answer to that question, but if she was the person who accompanied Margaret to the assembly, she could be in an awfully tight spot ... if Spedding was not there.

Another factor might be the historical child sex charges. I feel there could be a split in the family allegances, in that regard. (Because we only heard about two of Spedding's five children supporting him in that case.)

Perhaps the person in Dunbogan was the same person that Nichols was also apparently visiting on the morning that William disappeared?

Could be one of the reasons that Nichols first became a POI.

Who else might be an interested party at the inquest??

You would have to think the Bio Family would be included in the list, along with people in charge of the search, anyone that saw the family along the way to Kendall, the preschool people etc etc.

ol’ Marg would have been asked many questions like where are his clothes he wore, what demeanour was he in that night, what does he have for breakfast....
