I was just looking at one of the pictures of BS's house and noticed the boat along the side. I wonder how often he used it and did any of his mates also have boats? Sorry I'm sure this has already been discussed, I just can't remember.z

IMO BS hadn't mentioned where he had been on the day in is first interview soon after William disappeared.
Did he not remember 'soon after' but did months later ?
I wouldn’t be surprised is why the cops ask for several statements because if you’re a liar then need a bloody good memory.

Do you think Margaret would have had to give a statement .. or two .. or three? She wasn't the one who was going to do the repairwork, but she is Spedding's most critical 'witness'.

Doesn't a 10 page statement indicate a lot of information? I have never had to give a statement to police but I would assume that it would be a simple case of what time I went where and who was there. In this case what time at the school, coffee shop and Dunbogan and what route did you take and who was there. What could take up 10 pages? They must have had a lot more questions to ask him. I wonder how many pages others filled up?
She would have had to verify his alibi.
Not really, from all the statements I've given or seen they start with time date who your being interviewed by, their position, where your being interviewed and why etc, your name, address, occupation, etc - that usually takes up a couple of pages. Then each question is a paragraph, each answer is a paragraph and everything is double spaced.
There would be a few questions, but 10 pages isn't a big interview. IMO
Do you think Spedding’s interview at Fg house would have been informal than say him going to the police station for a statement?
AFTERWARDS?
Great pick up Dr.
We’ve never noticed that.

yes the part i cant get over is him leaving an old lady who had family coming and had an operation with no fixed washing machine..to me that says he is not a very caring man at all imo..and why ring back in the afternoon after saying he was glad she didnt answer phone in the morning as he didnt want to do it that day or over the weekend.. still imo..and 1st ive seen written that Earlier in the day, Mr Spedding also had some work in nearby Dunbogan, Colin said. would anyone know who it was in Dunbogan?I wonder what Spedding said when he ordered the washing machine part. "Can I have it by Thursday morning, mate? I need it for a job I have booked for Friday morning. Lady needs her washer before her family arrives for the weekend"?
Perhaps there is a little notation in the order that the part must go out right away ... urgent job.
There could be at least several small corroborating details that, when put together, make Spedding's planned attendance at grandma's on Friday morning not just a he-said, she-said thing.

BTW, does anyone here know if CY is still married to MS cousin ?
* My intention with this question is not to sleuth her, however I've a feeling they may have split some time ago - and I wonder if discussions over 'inconsistencies' may have impacted... just all My Own Musings ...

Who else might be an interested party at the inquest??
