I think he has been called a suspect in MSM. Not that any of us know if the initial 10 page recorded statement was made under caution or not.

BBM
A day after police began searching a new area just 4km from where William Tyrrell went missing it has been revealed that police have focused on five "high priority" suspects.
The Australian reports that the first high-profile suspect in the investigation remains “a person of interest” but there are also four other “high priority” suspects being looked at.

The man identified as a prime suspect by police, in the weeks after his disappearance has always maintained he had nothing to do with it.
A police investigation learned the man had been at the home William went missing from days earlier to quote on a washing machine repair and returned a week later to complete the job.
The man provided police with DNA swabs and was subsequently charged with unrelated offences.

Then why haven't they charged him? Oh that's right, more pressure after he got off 2 historical cases, cause they have no evidence.

Let’s just wait and see, shall we? Let’s see what comes out in the inquest. I suspect you might be disappointed. IMO. And we can do without the sarcasm, after all, it is New Years Eve. And it’s about William, not about winning snarky arguments. IMO

There none so blind ........... imo

We don't know that he got off for sure, yes one was withdrawn the other we haven't heard anything about - unless you have a link.

Yep, still a very cloudy area, sleep. Lots more. To come from that too when it can be reported on. IMO.

I think it is more about ..... where is it reported that an independent witness states that he was there?

I think it is a big assumption to think that the police waited for 4 long months to check up on him.

Mr Spedding took part in a 10-page recorded interview with detectives soon after little William went missing on the day the tradesman was due to fix the toddler’s grandmother’s washing machine.
...... detectives allegedly found some inconsistencies in what Mr Spedding told them ....

I think that, imho, most people who make a statement to police, aren't apt to ring up the newspaper to tell them all about it. And from what I understand in many cases, police might caution people to keep things to themselves.

Sometimes posts are bewildering imo ... firstly, "where are the reports that say no-one saw him" ... then, "police might caution people to keep things to themselves".

I've been following this case like everyone else here, for years, and I have never once seen nor heard police quoted identifying BS as a prime suspect - not in the weeks after WT's disappearance, nor since. Have you?

Many of you here are saying that no one saw him. Remember?

I am referring to the last few posts by yourself. I think you answered your own question. imo

Well we can assume it was BS that was referred to as a suspect in the June 2018 article by the description given, however he has never been named as a suspect and you know what assumptions can do.... so to my mind he has never been named in MSM as a suspect and he has not beaten the historical charges... or we can move on and say he has not been found guilty of the historical charges and he has been referred to as the prime suspect in WT's case but has not been charged?

'Human' remains are found in rugged bushland on mid-north coast of NSW | Daily Mail Online

Police were seen surrounding a small area on Yarratt Road, Upper Lansdowne, on Thursday morning after a crew from the rural fire service made the grisly discovery about 6.10am while putting out a small fire.

The discovery was made less than an hour's drive from where three-year-old William Tyrrell disappeared from in September 2014.

The remains are believed to belong to an adult, but there are no fresh reports of anyone missing in the area.

Update:

Homicide Squad believe man’s body was dumped in bushland

<modsnipped snarky comment>

You know it’s a funny thing how some people apportion blame based on past experience. For example, if some people in foster care had a bad experience, then they unfairly label all foster parents as bad. Not That I’m referring to you or anyone else, of course, just reflecting on past experiences. I dont even know the history of you or any other posters, so definitely not referring to any of you.

It’s a shame, as in my time as an educator I met many wonderful foster parents who changed the lives of their foster children. So much. And so much for the better. I take my hat off to them. They are wonderful people. Just like William’s foster parents. They have my utmost respect and support.

Yes, check back. The links are there. Am on iPad so can’t link now, but they talked about the prime suspect being a washing repairman. How many can there be in Kendall and immediate area? Imo

<modsnip: rude>It is interesting to me that if it is indeed BS that is being referred to and his name is suppressed but the description of him completely identifies him as a suspect in this case and no one else comes to mind, that this reporting is completely in contempt of the coronial court inquest? How desparate is this police force to put him front and centre still after 3 years, but they have not charged him. Don't care how trusting or justified anyone thinks this action is, it is unlawful and morally wrong. IMO HAPPY NEW YEAR <modsnip>

Happy new year! Let's hope that 2019 is the year when this case gets solved and little WT is located, one way or another.

Does anyone know what 'stage assemblies' are at Laurieton Public School?

I think I remember discovering that stage assemblies weren't full school assemblies, but two or three year levels together.

  • #739
How do we know the Spedding grandkids went to Laurieton Public and not St Josephs Primary also in Laurieton?

Thanks for that. <modsnip - sleuthing family>
