Exceptional circumstances could be that he is a high profile POI/suspect, and therefore representation at the inquest could be 'warranted'

for him.
Margaret won't 'warrant' free legal representation if she is subpeonaed, I wouldn't think.

I definitely think it would be in the public interest to identify him as a known person for a recommendation that he be charged, if he did this to William. An inquest is about preventing bad/negligent events from happening again.
Oh definitely in the public interest that he be represented in a criminal trial. The Coroner’s website is about as clear as mud on the subject of anyone other than the families receiving assistance:

Where to get legal advice and information

It is the exceptional circumstance thing. It is all dependent on the opinion of the person granting an exceptional circumstance. Apparently, even for an inquest (as per sleuth's link).

For Gittany, he was allowed bail to 'assist with preparing his case' as an exceptional circumstance. Like he couldn't do that from jail. So he was out on bail for 2 years before his trial. Lisa was dead and buried, never to enjoy life again.

Exceptional circumstances never seem fair imo.

Question out of ignorance.

If you delete a nasty post before reporting others, can the mods still see the deleted posts? Would be nice if they could in the interests of fairness. Eg. Bait someone, report their reply but only after you delete your own baiting post.

Very shrewd operation, but surely not in the ethos of the WS we love so much.

Btw, it really is a question out of ignorance, and I sincerely hope, mistaken.
Perhaps you should refer your question to a moderator.

I wonder if WT's mommy KT will be at the inquest and able to ask questions about her missing little boy? If she wants to that is?

Has BS applied or asked for assistance? I have no idea.

Yep, from the get goes.

Solicitor Rob Hoyles said he had applied for bail on the basis his client had no criminal history, had strong community ties and intended to plead not guilty.

Legal Aid NSW's Port Macquarie acting solicitor in charge said his client could live at a local residence and not enter Sydney.

Mr Hoyles also said his client had $30,000 in a property that could be offered as surety.

Well I’m hoping they’ll read it and give an objective reply without penalty to clarify for us all. I think it’s important. IMO. I love WS and would hate to think it’s being manipulated in any way.

Perhaps you could ask them, as per your suggestion.

I have no doubt if she is so inclined, she would be able to.
With her legal rep.

I have no idea if his bio mummy or his foster mummy can ask questions? But I doubt it. But someone with more knowledge than us will fe along soon to clarify, I’m sure. We have some very astute members on this thread, to whom I’m eternally grateful fo r their knowledge.

Btw, what do you think she’d like to ask?

You were the one who asked the question, not me.

Peter O'Brien also does Legal Aid (and pro bono) work, and has for a long time. He represented Spedding in the bail application and trial for the child sex charges. And is now representing Spedding at the inquest.

Washing machine repairman Bill Spedding, who was named as a person of interest in the case but was never charged, was also represented by barrister Peter O’Brien.
"Just be very careful how you report this," he told journalists outside court.
"He’s been summoned to attend, so of course he is being represented," Mr O’Brien said when asked why Mr Spedding, who has always denied any involvement in William’s disappearance, had a solicitor.

Peter O’Brien was featured on ABC News last night (17 June, 2015). Peter appeared as a solicitor in the bail application for the high-profile accused William Spedding.

BBM, I am not privy to her questions if she has any but i can only speculate on it.

BS has certainly kept him busy.

Do you think Peter Savage’s lawyer will also be paid for by Legal Aid or the Coroner under the same exceptional circumstances?

Karlie didn’t attend and wasn’t legally represented at the Directions Hearing—neither was Brendan—AFAIK.

Your guess is as good as mine. I will be interested to know if he gets a Legal Aid lawyer, for sure.
