I would also think that the school staff would want to shield the children from the publicity that this alibi has put upon this school. Detectives, perhaps, coming into the school to speak with the principal/teachers, gossip spreading amongst the children - perhaps affecting the grandchildren also, among their peer group.

If only this question did not hang in the air. Was Spedding there? That is why I would have hoped that some kind of notification could have been made that this part of his alibi was verified (if it was verified).
Yes that’s fair , my thinking is that if he was there or not then there would be more than a family friend to verify it. He is still a poi who has been summoned to a coronial investigation of a missing 3 year old boy. No matter which way some may like to feel sorry for him and deflect , he is there , first on their list for obviously a very good reason. This is total speculation on my behalf and IMOO but possibly that’s why savage is present aswell, what did he maybe witness that day that we or the media don’t know .

Couldn't agree more, Sa. Puts way too much pressure on staff, parents, kids, even school ancillary staff like cleaners and groundsmen, who are all fodder for 'scoops' . I hope they've all had a lot of support. I haven't googled to see who the Principal and deputies are, but they've done an excellent job in fielding off the fallout for their school and all of its community (parent, students, staff etc) and keeping theirs and the schools integrity. IMO

I’m not sure it’s trial by media. It wasn’t the media who raided his house and office, it was the cops and it’s the cops who wanted him to report to Port copshop, was it every day?
I wouldn’t say it was trial by media.
I agree we aren’t talking about Hollywood gossip. The police would cut them off quickly if the media did anything to jeopardise the case.

Don't schools have cctv cameras to see who comes and goes from a school?

My kids school doesn’t. And I don’t remember any of my schools having them.

Maybe because he doesn't have to prove anything to the court of public opinion. He more than likely also was given some pretty strong and direct legal advice to clam it.
Exactly. His lawyer would definitely have advised him and seeing he was in the limelight, even though LE have stated it wasn't to do with WT but the historic charges, he would need one.

Well perhaps nowadays they should, seeing as all of the creepers out there. If you have watched true crime cases on T.V. quite a few crimes get solved with cctv camera footage, so a great help to LE, JMO.

No not all schools
Spot on, BL. Money usually has to raised by P&C, unless there are regular break ins or other crimes targeting the same school, then state govt's might come to the party. They're not very good at it in Qld, but I can't speak for NSW. IMO

It's a shame the FG didn't have surveillance footage around that house, especially after she was widowed. I would of been scared alone at that place with all the bush land there.

Yes in hindsight what a bonus that would have been . IMO it wouldn’t have made a bleeding difference to her safety though as it after the fact that cctv is helpful, wont stop a crime .

I wouldn’t have been . If she was I’m sure she would have taken her own measures . How you may feel personally is not relevant to how she may have felt

Don't you think she would of been freaked out after WT was stolen? If that doesn't scare you then i don't know?

You sure about that? Surveillance cameras inside to view what's going on around the house outside. A quick emergency call to LE?

there must be some cctv evidence of bs movements that morning because the laurieton cellars bottle store (next door to bs office) proprietor r chapman was asked by police not to delete any cctv footage, so their cameras may have captured a lot and may even show who went into buzz cafe?
sorry i dont have a link, the msm articles seem to have vanished

Good point bearbear. I'm sure LE went over anything to do with Spedding with a fine tooth comb after he was brought to their attention, IMO.
And i agree about the MSM articles.

I remember the Kendall Cellars bottle shop being asked to keep their CCTV. I recall us tracking the route to Kendall from Laurieton to see if the route went past Kendall Cellars.

I believe that if a person took the back way out of Kendall they could/would have gone right past the Kendall Cellars bottle shop.

"I can't say I look at any locals differently, but I guess you never know," Kendall Cellars owner Rheannon Chapman says.

"I think the police side of things, the suspicion, was there straight away," she says.

"Just little things like looking at our CCTV. We were told not to delete anything and that was the next day.

Agree that the need for grandma to have CCTV would be highly unlikey. After listening to the police interview with the foster parents again, it seems that grandma lived in a very peaceful, safe area. Kids played out on the street, neighbours knew each other. Nothing untoward had happened to anyone before.

A once in a decade crime.

I doubt she spent many, if any, days in her house by herself after William vanished.
I wouldnt be putting up CCTV when I was moving.
