I don’t know about anyone else but if I was simply the neighbour of someone whose grandson had disappeared, it would give me the willies if I didn’t know why I was being called to give evidence at an inquest and had no idea why investigators wanted me to do that.

As for Savage, his lawyer would have access to the brief of evidence as soon as it’s made available to ‘interested persons/parties’ so that should make things crystal clear.

I suppose we won’t find out more about the POIs until the inquest gets underway. It would be interesting to know who owns the piece of land where the search was done at Batar Creek, although the owner is not necessarily a POI just because police searched there.
You are right, the person wouldn't be a suspect automatically, but I remember the news sounded like it would be. Can't find the one (and only) link, although I've searched for quite a while. :(

I don’t want to appear to be jumping on him because he has recently come into the mix but I did always find his statement to the media regarding the day William disappeared a little “ too much information”

But I’m possibly reading into it too much now but still .... the bells are ringing in my head about him and I don’t have a good feeling.

Believe it or not, I still have an open mind about the person responsible for William’s disappearance but, like you, my ears pricked up when Savage spoke about hoping he didn’t hear a scream or smell a terrible (horrible?) smell in the bush. Way too graphic for my sensibilities. But that’s me.

Yes me too, maybe and hopefully an arrest before the inquest and someone’s going to crack
Wishful thinking on my behalf

When asked if the two men knew each other, Savage claimed they had never met.
“Off the cuff, no, I don’t think so,” he said.
Police hope what they do know -- if anything -- about this baffling case will be revealed when the inquest begins in March.

William Tyrrell Inquest: Neighbour Has No Idea Why He's Been Called To Testify

Idk anything about PS and don't blame him for abduction, but I would have worded it just as he did, if I would have to admit later on, that after all I knew the other person (BS). ;)
IMO Exactly the same, when BS said "I think, I have been to this house" or similar wording, viewing the news about Benaroon Dr. and little WT.
It wouldn't be a surprise to me, if the both men knew and didn't only think.

Spot on- are they covering themselves for what may come out ?

Way way back early ( well before I joined here) I cam across a page . It wasn’t fb but some other social networking page. Spedding was a member as it was easy to google his name and find his profile. It’s gone now and for the life of me I can’t remember what it was but from memory his “ friends “ on said page were all male and none that appear as his “ friends “ now. I wish I’d kept it . Would like to see who the connections were .

is this it?
Police say there is someone who knows why they are searching in that specific area -and insist that one of the 833 people living in the town of Kendall, where William disappeared, knows what happened to the boy.

The day William Tyrrell vanished

"Very few people around here knew him and his sister, not many of us, just two little kids visiting," Mr Savage told news.com.au.
"They wouldn't go wandering. They would stay close to their grandmother.

"You'd never see them unless you were walking or driving past."

AFAIK, the family wasn't visiting very often (last visit on the occasion of grandpa's funeral?). PS knew quite well despite the few visits. So he was one of the "not many", who walked past or drove past several times or more than "several", I assume. - Because I'm not English speaking, I'm often paying attention to every word. Maybe wrong. ;)

Blokes can sometimes be a matter of fact like that.

Thank you! :)
No, it is not, what I searched for. I looked for "adjoining land" and similar wording. But my "similar wording" wasn't useful too or the text might have disappeared?
