Yes, I had that thought, too - due to his hesitation.
I had wondered before how grandma got Spedding's name to do the washing machine repair. If Savage (or his wife) had ever used Spedding to do a repair for them.

Mr Savage seems to know a lot about people on the street ... I kinda think he is the street busybody, the one who peers out from behind the curtains, the one who stops and chats to the neighbours.

The sort who would help a woman who had recently lost her husband and was recovering from and illness organise/assist to get her washer fixed.

Yes, the sort that would see the family drive by in their car when they were visiting, who knew the man down the street left because he was freaked out ....

Then aged 70, Mr Savage had seen the little boy named William and his sister, who came to stay with their grandmother directly across the road, only occasionally.

"Very few people around here knew him and his sister, not many of us, just two little kids visiting," Mr Savage told news.com.au.

"They wouldn't go wandering. They would stay close to their grandmother.

"You'd never see them unless you were walking or driving past."

One of the women came to Paul Savage's front door, screaming that William was missing, and he immediately joined the search.

"I went uphill by myself looking for him," Mr Savage told news.com.au.

"I've gone up thinking he's around here.

"We thought, he's just run off somewhere, which is a natural thing and hopeful thing to do.

"There's a track up through the bush. I walk up to there nearly every day."

The small dirt track off Benaroon Drive winds through the bush for several hundred metres before it reaches a cemetery.

wasnt he also the neighbour who said something about if william was missing and not found in the forest people would eventually smell him, or something like that? the comment at the time made me wonder if whoever did this would also know to dispose away from houses deep in the forest for this reason

He has been very prominent in the media reports about the street.
Which could mean inserting himself into the picture ... or could mean a busybody who likes people to know that he knows a lot ... king of Benaroon Drive.

Either scenario could be useful at the inquest.

There’s a few things that irk me said by Paul savage, I’m not sure if it’s because we are hearing quotes from him out of order, or only part of a statement he’s volunteered to the press, I can’t be sure. I did read an article the other night which had mr savage quoted as saying “you” rather than “I” which is projecting and I wondered why. When you look at what he’s saying, it’s interesting to me that he phrased this way.

Here’s an article about this
Responsibility: Why Do Some People Say 'You' Instead Of 'I'?

I also found it interesting he became agitated with the press, I scrolled up to see what question was asked before he got riled up, it was why was he asked to appear at the inquest

“You will have to find that one out yourself I don’t know myself”
He also said he never saw William on the day he disappeared

One isn’t quoted, so again it’s hard to peice the sequence together, but usually I find people who are defensive (for what ever reasonings) react to a question prior to the last, are processing the question and their answer when the next is asked and bam reaction.

"It's something you think about, but you've got to let it go, otherwise you'd go mad."

Ah it’s this article which starts with mr savage as the first person mentioned and ends with him being the last person mentioned, stating 6 quotes from him the last 3 really bug me. If this happened on my street I wouldn’t describe police presence as “popping back” from the pictures in msm it appeared they were in full fource scouring every inch of the street and bush. Kind of trivialising the situation while saying they are doing “an excellent job”
To follow by saying (but)“somebody somehow managed to get him and disappeared down the road” I also found odd, who ever stole poor William did this before police “did an excellent job” I wonder if these quotes by mr savage were said in this order?
All my person opinion of course!

"They wouldn't go wandering. They would stay close to their grandmother.

"You'd never see them unless you were walking or driving past."

Has PS late wife ever done an interview, was it ever mentioned whether she was home when William went missing?
,
An MSM interview? Not to my knowledge. And I haven’t seen her whereabouts on that day mentioned either.

That’s is one question I have always wondered, how did BS come to be the repairman she chose.

I'll bet he has been forever ruing the day that his business was ever chosen for this job!

Kinda inappropriate.

The man is a named primary POI/suspect, one who has been requested to attend the first week of the inquest due to the level of importance of his potential involvement.

If it turns out that he is the one who abducted and harmed William, I bet everyone will be ruing the day he was asked to attend grandma's house and fix her washing machine.

I find it quite odd that so many people are turning on PS.
I see his comments as typical of a man his age, no one found his comments weird earlier, until it was announced he had to attend inquest.
I’m cutting him some slack at this point.
Where did the reporters ambush him, he must be pretty over the whole thing, even having to go to Sydney must be a big deal.

One anomoly that I noticed when comparing all of his media comments is .... he went uphill to search for William, yet he says that someone took William and took off down the road.
At what point did Mr Savage decide that William was taken down the road?

"I went uphill by myself looking for him"

“(But) somebody somehow managed to get him and disappeared down the road. I don’t know how it happened of course. He’s been taken to a place unknown."

What happened on the day William Tyrrell vanished?

He has a lot of slack cut by me, too. Has never been named as a POI, could be a witness to events or situational circumstances on Benaroon Drive that morning ....

But, as we do, we look at every single thing that is published to see how it all could fit in. Seems fair to me.

I felt the same way when people were investigating all the stuff about Anthony Jones, because to my way of thinking Jones is just a loose cannon, despite being a named POI.

I havent forgotten that, or Jones' 90+ arrests. :)
He doesn't seem to be a nice person. I just personally haven't got him pegged for the crime of abducting William.
