BBM. Savage advised the Coroner that he was seeking legal representation back in December at the Directions Hearing.

Wasn’t it said that all 21 houses on Benaroon Drive were searched from top to bottom three times? We didn’t see any vision of those searches and what, if anything, was taken from them.

I think there were a number of catalysts for the warrant being granted by a magistrate to search Spedding’s home and business and seize potential evidence. One, the complaint about historical child sexual abuse and two, the plumber’s report to Crimestoppers about the t-shirt he/she found stuck in the sewer pipe at Spedding’s residence. There may have been others, such as the FaCS’ investigation.

BBM
I would say that Spedding's alibi not stacking up would be very high on the reasons for the searches. IIRC the police did not know about some part(s?) of his alibi until much later - which is odd.

If Spedding's alibi was independently verifiable ... if anyone at all, other than Margaret, could say he was in the very public places he said that he was that morning ... his POI status would have been over. (Unless, of course, police have far more incriminating evidence that we yet know nothing about - CCTV, witness testimony, DNA, phone pings .... )

Yes, as far as we know, Savage has only been trying to retain a lawyer over the past several weeks. How long ago was his house searched, I wonder. 4½ years ago? Again since then? During the June 2018 searches of the area?

It’s hard to imagine the media not being all over it if a search of a house opposite where William disappeared from happened ,Besides when all the houses in the street were being searched .

It is also hard to imagine that 'someone' would not tip off the media, if the police wanted to apply pressure to a neighbour.

Do you think that the inconsistencies in Spedding’s 10-page statement and, I presume Margaret’s statement, alone were enough to convince a magistrate to grant a search warrant of their residence and his office, or whether it was a number of cumulative events that lead to them and his POI status?

Savage advised the Coroner by phone that he was seeking legal advice at the Directions Hearing on the 19th of December 2018 so he’s been seeking to retain a lawyer since at least that date, if not shortly before. I don’t know exactly when Savage’s house was searched, presumably at the same times the other 20 houses on Benaroon Drive were searched and, possibly, during the June 2018 search. As @Lemony posted earlier, not all searches were publicised in MSM.

They seemed to be pretty tight-lipped about the June 2018 search, so who knows. MSM seem to have been pretty helpful to SFR.

IIRC, Colin said that the police did not know about some part of Spedding's alibi until the week prior to the searches. I think that likely was a significant factor.

Yes, I understand that it has been several weeks that Mr Savage has been trying to retain a lawyer.

As I said earlier, I can’t wait until Savage and Spedding front up to William’s inquest. I think a lot of our questions will finally be answered.

I guess an internal house search could go unnoticed by prying eyes too if it’s plain cars and plain clothes police doing it a time when no one would be watching .

I guess there’s a good reason behind why only one poi has been publically named. Actually maybe that’s wrong , I suppose AJ has been named in past as a poi, were the other 2 sexual perverts actually named as poi’s too ? As in PB and DN

I think it was cumulative events, a different police unit in charge of the investigation with much more aggressive tactics as opposed to the cautious Fehon, call in from someone over historical events after hearing through the family that BS had visited the house of the missing child, possibly a plumber calling crimestoppers but I have my doubts about that, maybe a policeman calling crimestoppers to get a search warrant over the line. IMO

imo i think,BS did a drive by agai

imo someone did a drive by that day and were spotted by under cover

According to statements made by Jubelin, the Batar Creek search had been pre-planned.

Police sources have confirmed the search of the new area was planned months ago and was not prompted by a new lead.

Nocookies

Det Insp Jubelin revealed that the change of location was based on a 'line of inquiry' police are pursuing, and the information leading to it was uncovered prior to the forensic search commencing two-and-a-half weeks ago.
'This information we've had for quite some time,' he said.

You seem to be saying that the sequence of events and the motives of the players were somewhat conspiratorial in nature. I tend to think of the sequence of events as a tragedy of errors, if you will. As @Wexford has always said, Spedding might simply be the unluckiest-washing-machine-repairman-in-the-world. I guess William’s inquest may bring some clarity to this matter.

Within that headline “ someone in the tiny town where William went missing KNOWS who took him” Spedding isn’t from the tiny town, neither are the other named men. Except one PS. Is this a little hint ? Does PS know something ( not directly involved ) but know something ? Maybe he is the one all these veiled comments Jubelin has made have come from , the ones about someone knows something, speak to us before we come to you . All IMO
Also I’m just throwing theories out there. It’s also entirely possible PS is just a very credible witness to something he may have seen

Could the poi,s and the Fifth high profile be Jones , savage , Bickford , Nicols and spedding ? I know it’s been discussed but I wonder if that’s our line up or whether Spedding is the only one and others no longer poi’s and savage not one to start with ???
The article about the 5 was some time ago, maybe it’s all down to one now ?

It would depend what nearby and area surrounding Kendall is defined as. Bickford, Jones and maybe even Spedding might be outside those terms. Personally I think the person the police statements are aimed at lives within Kendall, the Batar Creek valley or quite close.

BBM
police have moved their search four kilometres from Benaroon Drive to bushland near Batar Creek on the basis of information gained by Strike Force Rosann.
It is understood to relate to a high-risk person of interest living nearby, and was discovered before the 50-strong delegation of Riot Squad officers began the mammoth task of forensically searching the three-square-kilometre area of dense bushland.

Police are convinced someone in the tiny NSW mid-north coast town of Kendall knows more about the disappearance of William Tyrrell than they’re letting on as authorities focus on a dwindling group of potential suspects.’

‘AAP has learned the shortlist of high-priority people of interest has been steadily shrinking as the investigation and search efforts progress.

It’s understood detectives believe someone living in the area surrounding Kendall knows more about William’s disappearance than they have told authorities, sources told AAP.’

‘The revelation means police are still not convinced William’s disappearance was the result of an outsider, acting alone, venturing into the sleepy town of 830 people.

Police say there is someone who knows why they are searching in that specific area -and insist that one of the 833 people living in the town of Kendall, where William disappeared, knows what happened to the boy.

Just another thought and I’m not meaning to pick holes in your post but spedding didn’t live in Kendall so wouldn’t be part of that small town .[/Quote

That’s fine. I get where your coming from.
I’m not sure where he lives. ? What’s considered lives in the surrounding area? It’s definitely can be interpreted many different ways.

You would think it would have to be the specialised forensic team that would have to search the property. Jmo

I would not believe BS either.
That was my point. Maybe PS reply was not as off the cuff as he claimed.
Maybe he was just leaving that answer for the inquest.
If he has met BS at some point. I was just wondering what BS might be thinking in the lead up.
I wonder if PS
Waved or said a quick hello to BS when he initially turned up to check over the washing machine? That might of been the hesitation? Couldn’t say he didn’t know him or hadn’t meet him. Because there was a brief exchange when bs pulled up to the FGM?

Yes of course but would depend on what they were looking before. Just all ideas and thoughts I’m throwing about ! I hope PS is not involved and will turn out to be a very good witness .

Yes that could be an entirely good explanation which I had not thought of .

Why do you think a Policeman called crime stoppers? Are you inferring corruption? If so what is your reasoning?
