Think it’s worth remembering that the FM has been cleared. Many times over, and over, and over. She is also a victim here. Her grief is like a bottomless pit. She has my greatest sympathies and support.
Indeed, Im cutting her some slack re picking up sister from airport, do we even know she was driving, maybe people encouraged her to get away for an hour or so, she would have had a phone on her, maybe it was good to get Williams sister out of it all too.
I dont get the criticism of her.

Agree plus the distance from said car and where FM was on the property is a ways apart... locking looks from that distance? Mmm

IIRC he turned in the neighbours driveway and they were standing in theirs. Not so far at all. He had to drive past them twice. FM saw him when he turned just metres away.

Bit hinky imo
This driving to pick someone up sounds odd at best. I’ve had family crisis times and at no time was any of the family in any fit state to be driving. From my experience I wouldn’t be moving to far from the property.., I’d want to be on the spot making sure everything was being done n to find “my” child... I know everyone’s different but still seems a bit off. How would the police allow this as well, a child is missing and EVERYONE is a possible perpetrator until proven otherwise? I’m confused by this

Possibly not fully cleared at that stage but indeed fully cleared and advised by police on numerous occasions since. I just shake my head imagining foster mother or her mother being permitted to drive in such a high stress and emotionally distraught and distressing situation. It beggars belief.

Could it be the driveway of no 51 opposite 52. That is a few metres closer.

I think it more likely the 3rd car was driven up the hill past 48 and turned into 52 then daughter pointed out vehicle and as it was being driven back down Benaroon past 48 foster mother has observed driver. It was said the windows were all clear with no darkening tint and she was able to observe him through the windows.

Maybe she needed her sister’s help. She was the one who went in front of the cameras to make that public plea as FM & FF couldn’t because they were hogtied with bloody bureaucracy.

According to google maps it’s one hour round trip and if they did have a police escort it might have been a lot faster.

Dr Sleuth gave the detail yesterday that foster mother and daughter and FGM drove to the airport. We don't know if she physically had her hands on the steering wheel but one would think if a police officer or support personnel drove that would have been mentioned in Inquest.

The woman Nicole is not foster mother's sister

It’d be a tight fit to take 3 people to pick up 2 people plus their luggage. Would a 5 year old need a car seat or booster? They must have had to take Williams car seat out if they went in their family vehicle.

The airport is right in Port Macquarie you would think an officer from Port Macquarie HQ the command centre at time would have been despatched.

I don't think a police officer drove because of the foster mother's description of what occurred when she recalled the 2 cars. On returning to 48 she rushed to the police cordon nearby and informed the officer on duty.

If only amongst the officers who initially attended the scene one had had the inquisitiorial training and had sat down calmly with the foster mother and stepped her through every second of that morning she may have recalled the 2 cars sooner. It is obvious from the 000 call that she had instantly lost her memory recall.

It is very sad she blames herself like she said yesterday.

More curious than criticism from me. We all act differently on times of stress. I can only gauge how I’d behave.
We all see things differently as well. I live in a small community, everyone knows everyone and anything that doesn’t “fit” the norm is quickly noticed and reported

I don’t think we should assume anything, IMO. What I do find unpalatable is people using it to malign the fm, as in various previous posts. I think we all need to put our prejudices aside and have some empathy with this poor woman. Not having a go at you here, pt, it just flowed from my initial comment, and just a general very sad observation from posts from several posters. IMO.

But the question begs to be asked, ‘what would be ‘the norm’ if your (as in anyone’s, not yours as in you) child was abducted? Is there ‘a norm’? Fortunately not too many people can answer that properly.

Picked up her sister....one person. All depends on size of family vehicle. No other person mentioned. Nicole and her husband John who fronted media for family are close friends.

Absolutely 100% agree! The suffering those poor people have endured is clearly visible, even through all the red tape & blurred out faces!

Foster mother was distressed and so too foster father. All of their descriptions since verify that. I am not blaming them or anything like that so please do not think or hint or apply innuendo that I am. It is what police did or did not do that is important.
