One time I assumed the photos were taken by phone, and someone assured me it was a camera. That was a few years ago but not right at the beginning.

I have done a google search from 12/9/14-12/9/15. Not finding an MSM link that says that the photo was taken on a phone. Maybe someone else can find one?

Last known photo of William Tyrrell to be forensically examined

Video at link.

There is also a DT article that I can't open.

Nope I just googled and couldn't find any either. But in FM police statement dated the 14th September 2014, it states " I took a few pictures on my digital camera of the 2 kid's sitting there drawing"

Do you have a link to the statement?

Well, the mention of the camera being used to take the photo is not in Episode One of Lia's podcasts. So don't anyone else bother to listen to that particular full episode.
I know I have heard it, so it must be in one of the other episodes. Don't have time to listen to them all now.

I already posted it's at the beginning of Ep 2 :)

Nope apply for it from the Coroner's court, but I'm sure you've already seen the statement

Talking about what you can and can't do here, as you have, you can't state as fact if you don't supply a link. So we will have to consider that a rumour.

Yep, but like I said you can apply to the Coroner's court for a copy of the statement that has been released by the coroner...the coroner court wouldn't release statements if they weren't fact

Oh geez ... I thought what you posted was a general statement. Sorry. Sat and listened to all that for nothing. Silly me. o_O

The DT article just repeats what The Australian has reported, and quotes The Australian as its source.

It does say that Michelle Swift last week applied to the court for further forensic testing of the photo, which the coroner then agreed to.

It also says that it was a 'new document' from the 2,000 page brief of evidence that reveals the 'created time'.
(As I explained before, editing a photo will produce a new time for that photo.)

Speaks a little of Ronald Chapman's sighting as well.

That's the point, we don't know if what your saying is actually in the documents unless you provide a copy or a link.

Do you feel you can't share them? Why if they are available?

ETA: As I have previously stated I always thought a camera was used.

I have a feeling I had a quick search at the time . . . two or three years ago . . . and there was nothing about a phone being used, only a camera. So likely the phone was all assumption, or possibly some early articles had mentioned a phone and then were changed.

Yes ... I think many people assume that a photo was taken on a phone these days.
Good digital cameras are so expensive.

I agree JLZ, definitely an assumption.

IIRC wasn't the FFC's phone left inside or something hence why she didn't see the txt from MFC straight away?

Hadn't they had a holiday to Bali recently? Bali is two hours ahead of us timewise. If the last time the camera had been used was in Bali it would still show Bali time when turned on then adjust itself.

Wow ... you have access to FM's statement! We know who to go to now if we need to see further info in her statement. :)

Do you have access to the whole brief of evidence?

No not the whole brief

I think the confusion probably comes from the 60 minutes special on William where the re-enactment of the photo being taken was done using an iPhone.

I think the explanation is probably what members have already stated, the camera being set to Bali time still & the camera correcting itself once connected to wifi or a PC.

CO clearly had aligned herself with the bio side & anti foster system, this information was prompted by the bio fathers lawyer o_O

I find it very hypocritical that CO was jumping up & down about the whole story not being told to the public before the care status was revealed, but now she chooses to print half stories like this & allude to it being the cause of the inquests adjournment- IMO all for ratings & to cast doubt over the poor FP who are suffering enough.

It will be interesting to see how her upcoming book is advertised, when it is ready for sale.

The image of the three-year-old playing on the veranda of his foster grandparents home in Kendall, on the NSW mid-north coast, was taken on the day he disappeared on September 12, 2014.

The photo was circulated as part of the search and was used as crucial 'proof of life' evidence which helped investigators establish a time frame for his disappearance.

However, that timeline has now been thrown into doubt revelations in the photo's metadata that suggest the picture may have been taken earlier.

The image has a 'created time' of 7.39am and a 'corrected time' of 9.37am, a new document from the 2000-page evidence brief obtained by The Australian shows.

Police have now been ordered an urgent probe into the 118 unexplained minutes between the time of the photo and when William vanished.

The 'proof of life' timeframe was based on when the image was taken (9.37am) and when his foster mother called the police (10.57am).
