Doc Sleuth
Did you notice in court if Mr Chapman said he had received his mail - his plant cuttings ..,at the time he saw the cars speeding around the corner at 10.45 am ???
Or did the mail arrive later in the day?? Was there any thing said in the court notes that alludes to the answer of this question???
Many thanks Doc Sleuth for any insight you might have on this....
Thanks Again and Kind Regards...

Nothing was said about weather Mr Chapman ended up receiving mail or his plants that day.

Unfortunately courts are not like a telling a story, there is not always a ending with answers ;):D

I’m thinking it’s an old Mitsubishi Pajero ute with a cabbie on the back.

I'm the first to admit I'm no longer a dab hand at identifying old car makes, however but I'm not entirely certain it's a Pajero. ..just something troubling me.

IMO it's certainly quite an old model - Wish I could read the writing on front & side panel !

It could be a Toyota going back many years .. But I'm sure the police have searched this thoroughly

Just throwing this out here. What if the postie had someone fill in for her/him that morning.
Would they be in trouble with Aus Post for doing that?
I still think maybe PS saw something, rather than him being guilty of something.
Maybe he was reluctant to be dragged into it, hence Jubelins phone calls.

Shame there's no 'Double Like' button ..

From Memory, Mrs Savage usually accompanied him on his walk but didn't complete the full walk with him, and he also returned via Bennaroon Dr.

Do you know at which point she left him and continued her own walk? I imagine it wasn't in the middle of the bush.

Nope, we weren't told where she walked, only that they met back on Benaroon.............I got the impression she hadn't been doing the walk with PS for a little while

PS I think is suspect number one. In my opinion

PS I think is suspect number one. In my opinion

It sure is looking that way to me, as well.

"Was this hole in the ground covered with tin, when William went missing"
"Is there a cover for the back area of your vehicle, so others can't see in"
"Show us the exact area you walked that day, so we can plot it on a map"

"Did you see him?" "Did you see what clothes he was wearing?" " Did you hear a radio when you went to his door?"

Jubes made a point of contacting him, then contacting him again, and again, and again. And getting those conversations recorded.

And why oh why did he not go to pick up his brother from hospital? And not even tell him he was not coming. William was not his child or related to him. He had looked around up the bush track. He had done his part. The police and hundreds of others were out searching. His brother needed him to pick him up and stay with him for a few days.

I've always thought it was FFC who opened the curtains/doors.

Just before 9am, his foster grandmother had opened the sliding doors on her veranda to look at a kookaburra and noticed two cars parked in the street.
The day William Tyrrell vanished

My dementia must be kicking in.

I don't think it's your dementia TGY. IMO the reporting on this dreadful situation has been all over the place & often unreliable .
I saw this particular piece also and was ' what the ?'

As one example we have this ( lol need to retry as I posted the braised Chinese beef recipe !)

Tyrrell carer believes abductors were there for both children

Counsel assisting the coroner, Gerard Craddock SC, asked William's foster mother why the cars weren't mentioned in her original statement.

"I didn't even think about it because I saw the cars, walked back inside and got swept up in the emotions of getting everybody ready for the day and then with William missing it went right out of my brain," she replied.

I personally can understand that - just visiting Mum, not too familiar with the area, not taking much notice etc; I'm thinking there was a lot of dialogue & searching for anything that went on between them all - as I'm certain would be the case for all of us in a similar situation ?
BBM. The same thing crossed my mind, which raises a whole heap of questions.

How would the chaser have known that he was witnessing an abduction? How would he be quick-thinking enough to know that the child was being abducted and chase the perp? All I can think is that the possible abductor (a woman?) was known to the chaser, and known to be capable of doing such a thing.

Yet they haven't seen fit to report - even with a Million dollar reward !? Just my thoughts .. as I respect yours

There are certainly some confusing elements to his testimony...

I'm going to keep an open mind for the time being though.

Given William vanished so quickly and how close PS lived (there's opportunity), I can see why he has been completely grilled by Jubes. I'd expect nothing less. Especially since he comes across as being an "unreliable witness", if that's the right term.

I'm interested to see what else comes out.

Good point. They definitely aren’t questions you ask of someone who you think was only a witness to an abduction. Also, as mentioned, there aren’t many witnesses who would stay quiet when there is a million dollar reward offered.

Do we know if PS is testifying again in March?

Do we know if PS is testifying again in March?

The last more than an hour of his testimony was heard in closed court. Perhaps the journos aren't sure as they weren't able to hear how that session ended. Though I thought I read somewhere that he may be recalled. But I can't find the link at the moment.

It would be remiss of Jubes and team not to grill PS given his close proximity and ever changing memory.
Has it been confirmed that PS brother was actually going to be released from Casino hospital on the 12 September 2014?

I’d put FA above PS as my prime POI.
I just cant conceive of anyone who appears normal killing their friend/ neighbours grandchild unless covering for an accident.
Trying to solve this case is like doing a jigsaw with many pieces missing and then the pieces you do have, most dont belong.

Forensic psychiatrist and criminal profiler Michael Diamond:
Is it somebody who has access to a child, and thought about it and not done it because their contact is too obvious, and so it has been a rehearsed and lived-in fantasy without the terrible outcome?”
NoCookies | The Australian

Forensic psychologist Dr Yule:
"There may be a misconception that there is a lot that we don't know about this case. I've visited the crime scene multiple times and there is a lot of information that that location tells us"
"Combining that with assessing all the leads that have come into the investigation so far, there really are a limited number of possibilities that can account for William's disappearance and from that there are actually a lot of inferences we can draw about what has likely happened and the likely personality of a person or persons who may be involved."

"You would have to have some other reason to be there and take that opportunity; either visiting, residing or working in the vicinity."

Detective Inspector Jubelin:
“We would particularly like to hear about anyone who has been quite deliberate in avoiding the publicity about William’s abduction or in contrast, anyone who has been uncharacteristically, overly interested in the case.”
NSW Police Force

William's foster parents:
"To the person who knows something about what happened to William, it's been too long. We don't understand how you can keep quiet. How much longer can you carry this burden?

I wonder if Jubes asked Mr Savage if he could record their conversations. And Mr Savage said "I would prefer that you didn't. I don't like to be recorded."

And Jubes thought "Bugger that, I know how much his story changes. How much he 'can't remember'. I need to get these convos onto a recording, so there is no 'I didn't say that' going on later". Operational reasons.

it says in this article PS didn't let his brother know until after 4pm that day he wouldn't be picking him Up from Casino hospital.

NoCookies | The Australian

On Tuesday, Mr Savage said he spoke to his brother in the Casino hospital on the morning of William’s disappearance to make arrangements to pick him up when he was discharged that day. Casino is about four hours’ drive away. He had been planning to help his brother recuperate.

“And that was because he didn’t have anyone else to pick him up and take him home?” said counsel assisting the coroner, Gerard Craddock.

“That’s right, yes,” Mr Savage replied.

Yesterday, he said he failed to follow through on that plan because William’s disappearance had consumed his attention. He didn’t speak to his brother to let him know until after 4pm.
