I would really like to know Beacroft's opinion about who IS responsible. It seems that, so far, her opinion excludes everyone who is in the picture.

I am a little concerned that she is a 'bleeding heart' and feels sorry for everyone. There is no room for that when a small child has been abducted and is now missing .... for years and years. imo

She didn't come across as a " bleeding heart" type of person to me SA. She came across as very thorough IMO

But I could easily be wrong .

In the recording, Mr Jubelin is putting to Mr Savage that William might have been accidentally run over either by Mr Savage or his late wife. "People do cover things up and it's not as bad as it seems at the start," he tells Mr Savage. Mr Savage denies it.

'Rubbish' said accused Tyrrell neighbour - Shepparton News

When Mr Savage took a toilet break during the tense interview, the other investigator in the room told Jubelin she didn't think Mr Savage had seen the suit on the first day.

"And what did Mr Jubelin say?" crown prosecutor Philip Hogan asked on Wednesday.

"He had a different view," Detective Sergeant Laura Beacroft replied.

Det Sgt Beacroft said she told Jubelin after the interview she didn't think Mr Savage was responsible for William's disappearance.

"Mr Jubelin didn't agree with me," she told the court.

After accompanying the widower on a walk-through of the area in September 2017, the officer echoed her earlier position to Jubelin.

"I just didn't think he was responsible," she said on Wednesday.

Surely the Coroner is keeping a very close eye on these proceedings???? And considering so much of the inquest has been suppressed ….. this information wouldn't be allowed to be made public if Savage is still a POI???? Wouldn't it possibly have the ability to prejudice a jury in a trial???

Surely the Coroner would step in and shut it down if that was the case??? I don't know if she has that power or not??? @Cleaver Greene you might be able to guide us here???

I am sort of thinking they have moved on from Savage??? But I'm happy to eat humble pie if solves the mystery of William...

Mr Jubelin continues, suggesting if something bad happens it's important to own it. "You will get the treatment that will help you deal with this, and you'll be looked after."

I guess we are still going

Jubelin puts to Savage that he drove a car similar to William’s foster dad’s car and that perhaps William “came running over all excited thinking it’s his dad’s car and he’s been hit”. Savage denies this.

The recording ends. It's lasted more than an hour. Mr Savage repeatedly denied involvement. We've adjourned until tomorrow.

Thanks heaps @drsleuth @stormbird @gaeilge for keeping us posted today. If I knew how to do it I would. I don't have a twitter account though (very ancient I know)

Did he also have a caravan or similar?

Yes he did, it was under the carport which had 2 car spacers , but he gave evidence at one stage that all 3 were parked under it

Wow there's a lot to digest from today. Interesting that jubes & Beacroft are in disagreement

I’ve got to give it to GJ he’s a pro.. I think just secretly GJ has been waiting for this moment.. all that’s needed are a few distinctive discrepancies from PS to confirm in the minds of others what’s already been confirmed in his mind.. I honestly believe PS played some part whether big or small in WT disappearance
I've been thinking the same thing. This court case must surely be making a few people anxious, and I'm not talking about Gary. IMO

I too, have often wondered if William was accidentally run over????
But no one has stated that they heard anything like that?? No "thud" or brakes screeching or scream ….. and I don't know how a driver could hide their emotions...…. never mind a body and get away with it....
