Cunneen asks Det Sgt Beacroft why she didn’t log the use of the mobile phone as a recording device so it could be put in the report about the surveillance devices used. She said she wasn’t there when the report was prepared.

Det Sgt Beacroft tells the court “the Strike Force was aware” of the recordings “eventually”. Cunneen asks “it was not a secret was it?” She responds “no”.

You would think so .....................
Especially in a sedan..... much more likely to feel it than if she were driving a 4WD …..

And here comes Cunneen……………. :)
Edit to add I hope we get to hear a lot of what she says ...

I guess, one possibility is she didn't know she had hit William & PS saw him & ..........................

At this stage he may well have just spontaneously combusted...........

Where are you William ??? :(

wouldnt she feel the bump though, unless she was speeding out of there?

You would think so .....................
I watched my own news channel last evening and it was talking about how a man had been found dead on the street outside a hospital.. and then it was determined that he'd been hit by a snow plough. It was reported that the snow plough driver wouldn't even have known he hit him, due to the size of the vehicle he was driving. I think it is impossible for someone driving a regular passenger vehicle (ie not commercial vehicle) to NOT know they hit something, or at least to 'feel' it. And I also can't understand why if that did happen with one of the neighbours on the street, they wouldn't come clean about it, even if after the fact. And to top it all off, if it was HS and we know she was gravely ill before she died, it wasn't like a sudden unexpected heart attack or something - surely she would have 'confessed' before her death - if not for herself, then surely for her husband on the chance that down the road, police could potentially be looking at HIM?

Human behaviour is unpredictable, what you or I might do , does not predict what others might do............

Gary Jubelin at the Downing Centre Court on Wednesday. Picture: Richard Dobson
Mr Savage denied being a neighbourhood pest, and insists that he “never done nothing to hurt the little fella (William.)”

“I raised with you that perhaps it was Heather,” Mr Jubelin said, referring to local rumours that William had been accidentally run over, on Heather’s way to Bingo. “I fully understand you love that woman. You would do anything to protect her.

“People do cover things up. I’m not sitting here in judgment.”

Mr Savage emphatically denied it, saying Heather would “raise the roof” in despair if she hit a child on the road.

Mr Jubelin suggested that perhaps Mr Savage had run William over, when moving his car.

“If it’s an accident, that can be resolved,” Mr Jubelin said.

“Some things that appear horrendous are really not that horrendous when it’s all said and done.

“If he’s been hit, that’s understandable. It’s not something you have to live with for the rest of your life. You’ll be looked after. You will get the treatment to help deal with this.”

RSBM - could it be plausible that William WAS hit by a reversing car belonging to the Savages, that William was put into the boot unbeknownst to HS, and left there while she went and did her thing, then William was disposed of later? How long was HS gone for after William went missing? Did police ask to search everyone's vehicles as well as hours in the hours after William went missing?

The court heard Det Sgt Beacroft described Jubelin in her statement as “an extremely driven and passionate investigator”. Cunneen describes him as “a dog with a bone” and Beacroft agrees “that would be a good analogy”.

BBM above. I wonder whether she answered the question? Or maybe it's just the way it's been reported...

No I don't think so, there were no road blocks etc set up.....................they were really looking a for a little boy lost ( understandably ) ............

Wow... that was heavy. sounded crazy when I started reading about planted Spider-Man suits... but now heavy and sad. Hearing Jubes talk in past tense about William.

Not sure what to make of it all really.

Savage is 100% full of **** and a creep...Confirmed by the recordings.

Would they be airing this if he is guilty? Though?

That is the million dollar question, I guess (no pun intended). I can't see how they would if he was though because I imagine it would have ramifications on the coronial inquest.

The court hears Det Sgt Beacroft and Jubelin ended up disagreeing on Savage’s involvement. Beacroft tells the court “there was nothing concrete that could put Savage in or out, which is why it was so difficult”. She concedes there is still “nothing that has excluded” him.

The court heard surveillance operatives noted in their report that “as far as they were concerned, Savage had stopped and looked at” the Spider-Man suit planted on the walking track the day before he reported it to police.

AFAIK they haven't released the list of witnesses for the next tranche of the inquest as yet...
Her name was Lyn … But that is all we know...
General question, can new witnesses be added to the inquest from Jubelin's trial or are they already set?

Good theory and everything is entirely possible in this case.... however PS was on the phone a lot inside the house that morning before HS left for Bingo …… I think Bingo finished at approx. 12 midday …. I'm not sure if we know what time she returned home?? (If anyone does know can you please let us know?)
And we don't know when the Police first searched the cars of the neighborhood ??? That I know of.... I have a feeling that the more thorough searches of properties were over the next days … But definitely could be wrong about that part...

The coroner can call who ever she likes :)

Yes …. Harriet Graeme, the Coroner, has said that anyone could be called at any time during the inquest if there was new info revealed ...

I wonder what was concrete which would have excluded all of the other neighbours? For example the lone man who lived in the house with the box over his window(s), lawn mower man, the Crabbes, AMS, Heslop, the Wilsons, etc?

And we must remember that there is also no evidence that he is guilty either.... and the Police certainly tried hard to get it...

possibly he was standing at his gate and witnessed something, it may have been a regular habit neighbours had noticed?
