Giving evidence on Friday, detective senior constable Greg Gallyot - who was involved in the investigation from 2015 to 2018 - said he was at police headquarters in Parramatta on November 3, 2017 when he was called into a room by Mr Jubelin and found another senior officer there.

Mr Gallyot said the call went for five minutes and 29 seconds and when it finished, he stopped recording. He said Mr Jubelin told him, "don't save that anywhere".

"Did you save the call anywhere?" Mr Hogan said.

"Yes I did," Mr Gallyot said. "I saved it [on the computer] ... I did it as soon as I returned back to my desk."

snip

Mr Gallyot said he knew what he was doing was wrong and agreed it was fear that drove him to record the call.

"Why didn't fear stop you from obeying the instruction of 'don't save it'?" Ms Cunneen said.

"I didn't believe Mr Jubelin would find it [the recording] and know I disobeyed him," Mr Gallyot said.

He said a year later, on October 28, 2018, Mr Jubelin handed him an iPhone which contained two recordings of Mr Savage. He said Mr Jubelin told him to write a synopsis of the conversations so they could be included in a brief of evidence for the coronial inquest into William's disappearance.

What's ironic is that jubelin didn't actually record this one - Gallyot did... it has to be said! lol

Probably the reason Gallyot's lawyer wouldn't allow him to give evidence before receiving immunity from Magistrate Hudson.

Thank you but before you post that link you might like to read the terms and references. I wouldn't like for you to accidentally breach the WS etiquette.

I have posted the link already. I believe the information contained in the Kendall Chronicle shows who the postie was. There is a lot of talk about the postie coming from the current court matter and media.
BBM
There’s straight vision from PS’s verandah to 48’s driveway. That is NOT a fabrication.

Why are you calling Jubelin a liar?
Gimmi facts & not hot air.

I beg to differ. The thick coverage of trees and shrubby plants at the front of Mr Savage's house and in the front and side of 48 Benaroon shows there was no clear view from Mr Savage's front porch through to either driveway at 48 Benaroon viewed from Google Earth aerial (including winding back to 2014) and street views validate's my opinion. There have also been short videos on media news reports that validate my opinion as well.

It also came out in the Coroner's Inquest with Beacroft's testimony that she did not believe that in 2014 there was an unobstructed clear view.

<modsnip: removed blatant accusation>

Yes I wondered the same, Deugirtni. But the bit where he says run into your property does make me think of William playing in the garden and maybe seeing something that interested him or looked familiar and so he ran down the hill into PSs garden. I can’t see GJ running into his property.
I was thinking it's possible he was referring to GJ showing up at his house without a warrant, talking to him, and then using the info against him later. I recall that PS had reportedly said to GJ that his lawyer had told him not to let him in any more without a warrant(?), and I'm sure not to speak to him either (as lawyers will always tell their clients to remain silent, so that is a given). I was imagining that in PS's mind he could've been referring to GJ intruding upon his property, space, and mind, and saying that in retaliation, PS would run into 'his' property. In any case, it may not have been GJ, it may have been someone totally unknown to us. Could've been his son he was 'talking to', or his brother, or his bro-in-law, could've been anyone (presumably quite a bit younger than himself). From what we know however, I would guess that it was more Jubelin than W, as it 'sounds' as if whomever he's 'speaking to' (in his mind but out loud) had infringed on PS's property and done what 'they' had wanted rather than what PS had wanted, and it's obviously made him angry and feeling vengeful (as many people inherently feel when they perceive they've been wronged). In my mind, one wouldn't be feeling vengeful toward a toddler for doing what the toddler wanted, because toddlers are rather easily controlled, whereas GJ certainly is not. Just my opinion though.

In all fairness, to Gallyot, when you work for the public service.... you do need to document everything as you need to "cover your butt" especially if correct processes etc are not followed …. or a chance there will be a complaint from a member of the public....

As Gallyot's senior officer Jubelin instructed Gallyot to do the recording with Jubelin's personal phone with Jubelin knowing full well there were no active warrants to support the action.

Roping in a junior officer to do something that Jubelin obviously (according to testimony) knew was against the relevant Act is not a good look under any circumstances. Then to insist the junior officer fudge the truth if questions are raised at a later date to say the transcripts were from warranted surveillance recordings geez .......

Not steps to take in any case and in such a very important case where an innocent child has vanished leaves me speechless.

Makes me wonder what may have occurred with any other POI and in any other cases Jubelin was involved in. I bet legal reps for those convicted will be watching very very closely.

Probably the reason Gallyot's lawyer wouldn't allow him to give evidence before receiving immunity from Magistrate Hudson.

In my opinion more likely immunity from prosecution by NSW Police from not reporting an alleged violation of the Act as per Cunneen's questioning of Gallyot this morning.

I'm here to see what the results will be - whether he will be charged with illegal recordings or not? We haven't heard his operational response yet. I wouldn't jump the gun just yet

Sadly the tweets seem to have paused …...

I'm guessing we are NOT allowed to hear to much on the surveillance side of things???? Sigh.....

Lia Harris
Dukes told the court he didn’t become involved in the Tyrrell strike force until early 2018. His role was to help install listening devices.

<modsnip: no link to info stated as fact; defamatory statement>

Gallyot was very clever to protect himself like he did. If he hadn't put the electronic copy onto to nswpolice computer servers and there was no proof the transcripts had come from warranted surveillance recordings, Gallyot would have been trapped in very deep sewage for sure.

Would be lunch break, back @ 2pm I'd say .

Court breaks are usually 11:30-12pm, 1-2pm ( I wish I had as good a breaks in my job or even " a" break most days ;))

No I don't know why …. the thread started doing that after a "pop up Video" appeared ...which thankfully has now stopped ….. but this has been happening for a while …..
