imo owen injected himself into a narrative as did speddings neighbour.
little town big timers = big mouths.

huff and bluff so to speak. nothing to 'dissect' as you suggest.

owen wasn't at the seen of the disappearance.
live directly at the seen of the disappearance.
go missing for 2 hours of the disappearance.
have plans to leave the district at the time of the disappearance.
have proven history of stalking and inappropriate behaviour at the time of disappearance.

huge difference.

Wasn't Owen in town that day? Paying some advertising IIRC. Wonder what he did after that?

Jubelin admits to the officers to recording a phone call with Savage, saying he did it “to protect my lawful interests”. He says “I’m aware that he’s irrational and at any point in time he could say I threatened him”.

Jubelin tells them “I’m also mindful I’m targeting a very elderly man and people were concerned about his emotional welfare”.

Jubelin tells them he recorded the conversation because he was concerned Savage would later make false allegations against him. Saying “I don’t want to leave myself vulnerable when I’m pursuing a person like this”.

Jubelin is asked about the recordings made on the 2nd and 3rd of May. He tells them it was in relation to the “Spider-Man suit operation”, which was designed to prompt Savage to “going to where William’s body may have been buried”.

Another interesting case in Sydney today, not sure if its in the same place as Jubelin’s but could be very revealing.

Jubelin tells officers “I still think there’s more that possibly could be pursued with Savage”. The court heard last week Savage is no longer an “active person of interest” for the current Strike Force.

Jubelin tells them another officer on the strike force suspected the foster parents of being involved, so they ran a “major operation” where they interviewed them both separately and placed a listening device in their car to record the conversation they had afterwards.

Jubelin tells them that operation satisfied him and most on the Strike Force they weren’t involved.

To add to that, the neighbours knocked on the door reportedly around 11am. HS had just left for bingo at 10:37am, so she wouldn't have been expected to have been home by then. And it's certainly understandable, as SLouTh mentioned above, with HS being sick with cancer and unable to participate in morning walks with her husband any longer, that she also wouldn't be out there searching when she did arrive home.. not to mention that she also had company (her brother and his wife) when she returned.

I had never heard until the post just today from drsleuth that HS had even made a statement before she died. I'm sure police checked out her statement and also verified times with the CCTV cams that were set up at the community centre. I truly hope that all of the neighbours gave statements and that they too were all checked out. I'm sure the police would have also done a thorough enough job to have checked all neighbouring/neighbourhood vehicles for signs of any damage. I recall reading in MSM at the time that police also reportedly checked into the boots of neighbourhood vehicles.

deugirtni,
Did you mean the camera at the old tennis court site (Graham St) or was there one at the Community Centre? If the latter, it would be able to document Mr Owen's time there.

ubelin is describing an incident with the former Officer in Charge Craig Lambert, which Jubelin tells them culminated in Lambert trying to physically “fight” him. He said Lambert was then escorted from the building.

No sorry, I meant probably the tennis court if that is the place that was talked about capturing all the cars going by that day. Just from memory/guess, I called it wrong. ;/

Jubelin tells the officers there was no investigation plan done before he took over the case five months in, saying “five months down the track and there was was no investigation plan... I think that says something”.

Interesting, isn't it, how people (like all of us) can form a determination about who is guilty in William's abduction and who is not.

With regard to Savage, we question a very experienced police officer who has all the facts, we believe the stories of an old man, we provide unfounded excuses (dementia), we minimise relentless stalking, we overlook outbursts of anger, we re-jig privately muttered words .....

What I would like to know is what was the legal justification for the listening devices in Savage's house. I think having info like that would help us to more clearly see why Savage became a 'high priority' POI that warranted the personal attention of the lead detective overseeing the case. A detective who enlisted a psychologist to assist with a bluff involving a look-alike spiderman suit.
Yes.. very well said

Jubelin tells officers he “has concerns” about “contamination of witnesses” in his case.

it surprises me as well SA.

the words maybes and perhaps get tossed into every one of those posts.

I personally am perfectly satisified with jubes explanation and comprehension and advice sought in his dealings with savage.(not that my opinion has any value more importantly I hope this opinion stands clear in the court.)

A senior NSW detective said he made allegedly illegal recordings partly because a widower scrutinised over the disappearance of toddler William Tyrrell may take his own life, a court has heard............................

Defending his decision to record Mr Savage, 75, in May 2018, Jubelin said the widower had made incorrect allegations against him previously.

"I recorded the conversation as I went in, again, for my lawful protection," he said.

"It wasn't beyond the realm of possibility that he'd commit suicide because of the pressure that was being applied to him."

“After hearing the Jubelin ERISP, the mind boggles just how his charges weren’t withdrawn immediately. Witch-hunt confirmed! Whom ever let this continue needs to be exposed. Heads MUST roll over this disgraceful waste of scarce Police, DPP and Court resources.” Mark Leveson

gaeilge,
Just saying I can't do any tweets today. Thank you for doing them up till now!

Edit: If there's no one else who can do the tweets today, I could do them later, tonight, in a batch (they just wouldn't be as-they-happen).
