Could it have been said to deliberately provoke a reaction? It seems there is no love lost between the two and tempers seem to have been flaring in SFR. Either way it is a despicable thing to have said about a missing little boy.

IMO Cook in his position would be looking at the numbers. He would have, in a sense, a quota to solve cases, much of his budgeted resources were being spent on Williams case and his numbers were down.

When they get to those positions it's all about the numbers and public interest. IMO

He told the Downing Centre local court that the new commander of homicide, Detective Chief Inspector Scott Cook walked past and said: “Nobody cares about that kid. Get him off the books. Send him to unsolved homicide.”

Mr Jubelin said he replied: “People do care.”

Maybe that's when the fistycuffs and a good dust off happened.
Bring back the biff I say.
Sometimes boys will be boys and a good rumble clears the air. Then a shout at the local pub helps.
In this case the looser got the schitts.

OMG o_O

I don't know what you are implying. A whole of of people care. I can assure you I am here because I bloody well care about William Tyrrell and want justice for him. Not for the book to be closed on him.

FYI i'm not implying anything and was wondering why such a comment was made, that's all.

Perhaps he was pressured to work on other missing persons cases and had limited resources to do so?

Yeah and that would justify it -not

Does not justify that appalling, disgusting, uncaring and unempathetic comment. imo

Can I ask who your referring to when you say Perhaps 'he' ? Jubelin or Cook?

Scott Cook, who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner in December 2019, has denied making the statement.

NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller this afternoon released a statement backing Assistant Commissioner Cook.

"I have full confidence in the professionalism of Assistant Commissioner Scott Cook, who has more than 31 years of exemplary service with the NSW Police Force," Commissioner Fuller said.

"Assistant Commissioner Cook held the role of Homicide Squad Commander from 2018, during which he exemplified the definition of a leader and reimagined the review process for unsolved cases to improve communication with the families of victims and deliver answers and justice in more cases."

The court also heard that the Tyrrell investigation was "all over the place" before Mr Jubelin took over.

Mr Jubelin said the investigation was "disjointed" when he took over the case five months after the three-year-old disappeared.

So Cook was Head for 12months.

Cook in the Force 31 years ........... Jubelin 33 years

Was Cook scared that Jubelin would get the promotion he himself wanted?

Everyone except Jubelin seems to get promoted

IMO

And yet GJ’s testimony makes this statement questionable. The statement by the Commissioner in no way proves that the incident as reported by GJ didn’t take place. IMO

IMO there's too much out there to deny it. Beacroft confirmed he said something like that in her testimony last week, Jubes said it today and the FF have also stated similar.

NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller said his opinion of former detective Gary Jubelin would not change, despite Mr Jubelin’s criminal charges for interfering in the high-profile William Tyrrell investigation.

Speaking for the first time since Mr Jubelin was charged with breaching the Surveillance Devices Act in the Tyrrell case, Comissioner Fuller said he “would shake his hand and thank him” for his work if he saw him on the street.

“He was a dedicated police officer and he did a lot of charity work and he did wonderful things for victims of homicides and that shouldn’t be forgotten because of the matter that’s before the courts,” Commissioner Fuller said at the official opening of the new police station at Mount Druitt.

“If I saw him I would certainly stop, I’d shake his hand and thank him for what he did,” he said.

Doc what is the current taskforce doing right now? I'll tell you. They are there worrying about their own arses on the block. I guarantee you not one of them are up in Kendall in the rain and I doubt not one has been to Kendell since before Christmas. The back slapping has stopped, the navel gazing has paused because all eyes are on the potential damage to their paypackets.
You know I love our cops, in fact I adore all our emergency services but this is sickening.
What, all because Jubes recorded something?

All detectives need body cameras now I say!!

Sadly Tgy , I don't think anyone was/is as invested in finding out what happened to William than Gary ( clearly not the cold hearted Scott ) To see GJ him turn up day after day to the inquest says alot IMO.
