Why did PS not go pick up his poor brother as was planned. He was packed and ready to go.

I don't want to create an argument but I don't think that is quite correct...…. (that only ONE recording occurred after the Warrant had Expired.... )

All Four Alleged Illegal Recordings were made after the warrant expired......

The Warrant was obtained in May 2017 and Expired on 25 October 2017

OR 2 Newspapers printing incorrect and conflicting information ??????

Reference below:

The 57-year-old is accused of illegally recording four conversations: one at Parramatta in November 2017 and another three at Kendall in 2018.

On Tuesday, it was revealed in court the conversations were with Paul Savage, who lived near William's Kendall home when the boy disappeared in 2014 and became a person of interest.

Prosecutor Phil Hogan told Downing Centre Local Court a telephone intercept warrant for Mr Savage's landline and mobile phone was issued in May 2017, along with a surveillance location warrant relating to his home the next day.

The court heard the telephone warrant expired on October 26 and about a week later Mr Jubelin made a recording at police headquarters in Parramatta.

Former detective breached surveillance warrants in William Tyrrell case, court hears

As per the quote in my post, The Australian article also says ‘a new one was soon issued’ after the first warrant expired. Hence, only one recording was done outside of a warrant.

Possibly his brother wasn't discharged that day?...Or..

Maybe with all of distractions in the street that morning .. Police, SES , Polairetc and such a major event happening right in his doorstep...… he just forgot about - like just it went clean out of his head....???
Or maybe, as Jubes described him as being the Street Stickybeak…. he wanted to stay home and watch it all unfold...probably the closest he had been to a "real Investigation / Search ???in his life??

I think someone from the Savage household did call the Casino Hospital at approx. 4 -4:30 pm .. maybe to advise them he wasn't coming??

I don't think his brother was stranded at the hospital, with no ride. Surely he knew someone in his same town-- friends neighbour, relative--that could give him a lift home.

I doubt that he was totally dependent upon a brother who lived 4 hours away, and who hadn't even called in to confirm he was on the way. JMO

Well obviously one news-stream seems to differs with the others ….

There was an article in the WS Thread … either #50 or #,51 (during the Trial) that said the Police were no longer able to extend the warrant as the first one had been futile in the quest for info, and the Judge wouldn't approve an Extension on the Warrant for Savage..

"I knew there wasn't (a current phone intercept warrant)," Det Sen Const Gallyot said.

"We were all well aware of the dates of warrants and when we didn't have them anymore.

Jubelin directed taped call 'not be saved'

But why couldn’t Jubes’ colleagues agree about Savage. I mean they couldn’t clear the man.
If they all presented a united front - maybe tried another officer to build a rapport with Savage? I dunno - how often can you flog a dead horse? Maybe they thought Savage was being truthful, whereas to Jubelin he was lying and being evasive.
I think some cops - not all - can pick
when a suspect is lying, Ron Iddles always said he could tell. The body language. The eyes.
Some dunce - I think it was the chap who nearly came to blows with GJ - would rather suspect the postal worker for goodness sake. Postal workers have to have police checks and working with children checks.
Mind you / look at that pig Rick Thorburn.

There is a very long SMH article that says that it was junior officers who did not find Savage to be a POI.
These same officers were the ones who made Jubes feel unsupported by some of the team.
Jubes felt the junior officers were angry at being seconded to Rosann as they were missing out on opportunities for advancement in other areas.

Sounds to me that a whole bunch of politics was going on within Rosann.

It's is very easy to forget vital appointments when things are busy and with unexpected changes in your schedule .......

I have done it myself... had a tonne of gusts invited for Christmas and one o f the main items on the menu for the main meal was Turkey... with Guests arriving and all the last minute fresh shopping.... I totally forgot to pick up my order.. it was xmas eve late pm when I remembered...it was too late ......I had even been talking about the turkey that day and buying special ingredients for the Turkey. Recipe.. but still forgot!! Bit embarrassing... Everyone thought it was quite funny at my expense….

I am a bit younger than Savage..... and if you lived in the same street you would want to help search etc... or help in any way you could eg cuppas and cooking to feed the SES etc... JMO

So why do think he couldn't have just gotten "Wrapped Up" in the search etc?? and Just forgotten???

What is your reason for PS not going to Casino that day??? Especially as it would have given him a perfect opportunity to remove William in his car....( IF he was involved??? ) as no road blocks etc that day etc

The best answer would be if we could actually ask him...:D

I'm seeing at least some of PS's driveway as gravel, maybe not right up to the garage, and that's Google 2017. Is it his you mean?

Hi JLZ. The comment was part of the Sunday Mail article & referenced the neighbour’s report of hearing a vehicle turning in a driveway; they thought was the Postie.
Perhaps it was a common sound heard as Postie turned in gravel driveways ?? Who knows? Yet I guess could’ve been anyone this day & time ...

This fact of PS having a gravel driveway was, as I understand, another factor that contributed to the List of ‘interesting’ topics re PS.

Currently I’m guilty of fence-sitting.
I certainly understand the investigation of PS, and have no objection to Det Jubelin’s actions & recordings ( if nothing to hide who cares what’s heard & all was on the hidden devices anyway; they were just such 🤬🤬🤬🤬 quality that no one could be sure what was said / heard) IMO.

I want to hear more before making my decision, but I certainly agree with Jubes & his comments re the cost of prosecuting Him v the ongoing investigation into William.

I’ll just put out there that IMO our elected Government Leader needs to get real in his ‘leadership’ of his departments. I don’t envy him his gig, it’s huge, but he put his hand up & I’m done with the blasé responses from Ministers that IMO are more about who’s got the biggest d&#^!

OMG, please bring William home to where he belongs, with those who love him so much .

From your article SA -
‘An undercover officer was "briefed up" to pose as a clairvoyant, but she "just choked" and the person she spoke to commented that she could be a police officer.‘
Lol.

Yep. Did you also read the part about Beacroft (unnamed, but you can tell it is her) being 'asked' to provide the police inquest evidence despite not being across the whole investigation?

regarding ps viagra purchase, wouldnt he need to buy it from a pharmacy with a drs prescription, and so not needing it to be posted, i doubt he would be tech enough to buy it online

umm .. maybe the son or someone else was comfortable with the online ordering process ???

Do we think PS would've enlisted the help of his son or a friend to order a pharmaceutical online which purpose is generally thought of as an enhancer to sexual performance, when his wife was suffering from cancer? It might be somewhat difficult to explain the need for it? If prescribed by an MD for other uses, perhaps a pharmacy might be a better bet from which to purchase?

As it stands, I think we don't know where this info came from, whether it is verified, whether it was a regular script he was getting filled or just a one-time thing, whether it may have been prescribed for other reasons, yet now it is out there in the public domain for everyone to come to their own conclusions without knowing any of the facts. To me, this is exactly the type of behaviour that went on when BS was the POI of the day. imo.

If that’s true, then police must have had sufficient information to support the idea that the postie was in the area at the time of William’s disappearance. IMO

I’ve always found ‘interesting’ the reports that Postie was due to visit FG only 2 days after William’s disappearance.

My first thought was - Why ?

My next thought was - the family was there for (how long) weekend only ? So a planned Monday visit - again it’s just Why is all this happening ??

Perhaps the Postie & FG were friends ... and certainly I can see the friendship & support of an elderly woman.

I can also perhaps see a reason for FG not wanting PS around, in support of her Postie friend & the AVO etc ...

Alternatively I can also see a neighbour wanting to help & support another neighbour, especially a recently widowed one.
( I’ve recently had back surgery + + challenges & my neighbours have been awesome re lawn mowing, and pool provision for exercises etc. some people do just want to help, but may perhaps be clumsy in the execution - then again, I felt safe as I’m friends with both :)

omg ! Just thinking ... It’s a shi#$ world that we all have become so accustomed to needing to think the ‘worst’ of everyone, before the ‘best’ can have a chance ...

just my own rambling thoughts ! In a far too sad situation ...

I find it very interesting that the recently released news items show that police considered granting PS a section 61 certificate in the Coroner’s Court. This strongly suggests they believed he may have witnessed what happened to William. If that’s the case, then why wouldn’t he tell them what he knows? Or does it imply that police believed he was involved but wasn’t the main player? So many questions.. IMO

IMO Stormy, this may be the Million $ question ..
I read that news item but couldn’t post it all, however reading Jubes’ consideration of giving PS that section 61 spoke volumes to me, also spoke re his concentrated investigation of this case.

IMO it’s such a sad & tangled mess, and there’s no better than Gary Jubelin to lead & decipher, no matter how long it takes & what’s needed to get to the truth...

I do hope the FP keep lobbying to the highest level for the investigation to continue & if ‘political interference ’ is what’s required, please bring it on .. IMO ..
