Prosecutor puts it to Dr Kaldas that pursuing a suspect "at all costs" despite "literally no evidence" wouldn't be effective police work. Dr Kaldas says there were many warrants issued that had been weighed up by Supreme and Federal Court judges.

Mr Kaldas has been excused and NSW Police Detective Superintendent Ian Lynch has taken the stand. He worked with Jubelin on previous Homicide investigations.

Mr Lynch told the court “I could not speak more highly” of Jubelin’s integrity. He said he had recently supported Jubelin’s nomination for an Australian Police Medal, saying “I thought he was the most worthy recipient I could think of” and “I take it very seriously”.

Mr Hogan is questioning Mr Lynch about whether the Magstrate’s findings in this case have “an impact on your assessment of Mr Jubelin’s character”. He told the court he doesn’t agree with the Magistrate’s comments on the truthfulness of his testimony.

She told the court when she and her husband first met Jubelin, they were told by several members of parliament, including then Premier Mike Baird and then Police Minister Troy Grant, “you’ve got the best man on the job... we heard that consistently”.

Former NSW Senior Crown Prosecutor Mark Tedeschi has now taken the stand. He previously worked closely with Homicide Detectives who had investigated the cases he prosecuted, including Jubelin.

Mr Tedeschi says Jubelin is a trustowrth person of the highest integrity. "I would categorise Gary Jubelin as one of the best (police officers) that I've come across, in terms of his application, his professionalism, his attitude, his dedication and his integrity as well."
