It could be planned, but not targeted; i.e. they wanted A child, and had plans to take him wherever they were going, but took the opportunity when it presented itself for THIS child. It could have been someone else 15 miles down the road.

Hunt for William Tyrrel goes across the world

Gary Jubelin said ...........while the worldwide appeal was welcome, there was no evidence to suggest William had been taken overseas.

And yet, the article also says this ....

“We’re using the global crime stoppers network to broaden the communications appeal relating to his disappearance,” Mr Price said.

“We’re hoping that somebody might recognise him.”

Horrible thought but first thing that came to mind....recognise via photo....if "illegal" photos of William had been forwarded around??

It would be very easy for someone to have a passport for a male child with a picture of a baby on it, and snatch a 3 year old boy and get him out of the country if you think about it. As long as the passport was in date and matched the name on the ticket then why would someone suspect?

You'd think they would have covered the out-of-country idea & alerted all authorities long before now?!

Unfortunately that's exactly what I thought when reading the latest news articles. :(

I'm not sure why. It is not typical procedure to notify countries around the world when someone goes missing in your own country. Not unless there is a specific reason for thinking that the person may be overseas, or has been viewed overseas.

I think it is likely that the possibility of William being overseas, or being viewed overseas, has just been determined. Perhaps by info located forensically on someone's computer, perhaps by an informant who is cooperating, perhaps by internet traffic they have seen somewhere.

I can only imagine the nightmare that William's family must be living in. And the nightmare that William may be living in. :(

It's just mind boggling to see what humans are capable of. We can cure disease and send people to space and yet others are capable of doing this.

I actually don't believe some of these stories.

I know some loathsome people exist. We know the Nazis exitsted, for example.

But I think some of the reporting surrounding these issues seem totally hyper.

For example, I know Jimmy Savile was a monster. But some of the stories are extreme. Not beyond belief, but there seems to be a world of journalism that exists just to fuel an imaginary fire.

I'm not protecting Jimmy Savile. I think he was evil and prolific. But it is enough to report what is known, since that is horrible enough, without reporting urban legend style extremes.

There is a style of journalism that thrives on fear, and pedophila is an absolute gold mine.

Glad to see they have fresh information, however it makes me sad. I wonder if the title should be changed to active search. I will ask a mod.
