They are also searching Lake Cathie - they were flying heli's over the Lake when they were searching BS property back in Jan. IMO there is a connection to BS

The Murdoch press map seems to completely miss the "Long Point Road and Houston Mitchell drive" area.

I'm just saying this to point out the information these media outlets are pumping out is poor and they are desperate to be first with misinformation.

I'm hoping this is just the police following a lead as they normally would, and it's nothing definite.

Sorry but putting BS's photo everywhere at this point is so lame of Murdoch. So far it's just a lead, and there still chance Murdoch is wrong and WT is in fact safe somewhere.

No, Lake Cathie is a small lake near the search area - north of Bonny Hills.

I do not get it either. There was a case I followed close to home 2 years ago where the 18 month old was found deceased in the perps garage. It took 3 months for LE to find her there, and this was the home she was reported "missing" from.

today 30 police officers from a variety of commands, involves several kilometres of bushland
inquiries suggest William has been taken
I stress somebody must know that William has been taken
searching for evidence at this point
won't go into specifics, do not want to compromise what we are doing
again, info is very general, not that specific

if anyone has info that will help, PLEASE come forward

search will take a number of days
this will not be the last search in relation to this investigation
trying to update people as best we can
we are talking to the family constantly

search by hand, a line search, then we will see what comes from that
next searches are not planned yet
we thank the public for coming forward, receiving info all the time

grateful to Crime Stoppers for circulating the info, that info has only recently come to light
not conducting searches interstate at this point

somebody usually knows something, we need that person to come forward with what they know
family is very distraught, we are in daily contact with them

* They are expecting to do more searches. Nothing planned right now.
* They still want people to come forward with information.
* They are looking for evidence in today's search (not specifically WT himself).
* They have a number of lines of enquiry.
* The search today is a line search.
* Crime stoppers have "taken the initiative" with the global appeals. Police are grateful for that, but seem to be more focused on the local.
* No motive known.
* "Somebody knows something"

It's scary when they search bushland.

But the media conference made it clear they have a completely open mind as to what happened, so still hope.

I actually think the purpose of the media conference was to ensure people don't stop thinking about the case. They don't want people to mistakenly think todays search is the definitive line of enquiry.
