Any more updates?

Not as far as I know. Latest was that the animal bones found were indeed from an animal.

I guess if this search only lasts a day or so, then we can suppose the information received was tenuous but worth a try.

Baden clay ????? Poi but not suspect for duration of investigation

Yup! Guilty as all hell! Free to come and go as he pleased whilst the murdered wife lay beneath a bridge only 14 klms away.

The police know what they are doing. They know. Our cops are tops.

omg where have we heard THAT before & look where that murderer is now???

It's interesting to think Bill went to work today.

I think the 'knee jerk' reaction of the bones would have been the media excitement & hype.

The old Business as Usual trick.

William Tyrrell: bushland search for missing NSW toddler

March 02, 2015 7:05PM

The search is expected to last for a couple of days

“Today activities are the result of information that has been received recently and inquires conducted by detectives,” Detective superintendent Michael Willing said.

“That informant and those inquiries have led us to believe that we should be searching this particularly area — but I need to stress that the information is not specific it is only general in nature.

“We are looking for any evidence in relation to the disappearance of William Tyrrell and it is likely that this will not be the last search conducted into this investigation.”

I just want to tip my hat to the police force for looking for him. My father is a police officer and used to work in traffic and I can't fathom how he functioned after coming home from car accidents etc and seeing the things he saw. It's just sad that cops tend to be judged because of a few bad apples, I hope they're all doing OK with the search

Yes when I saw those words I had a flashback to another POI that wore a mustard jacket and thanking his family for all their support in that one and only interview.

BBM.

You took the words out of my mouth TGY. LOL.

Hiya Makara! :grouphug:to our old gang.
FYI no roundabouts on this Road but I kept a look out for some koppers logs which I didn't see ;)

I did a google drive up Long Point Drive to approx where it looks like the search is taking place. That section of road is very straight with very good visibility of any oncoming cars, perfect to stop quickly without being seen. The speed limit is 80k (sign) but I'm thinking it would be easy to do over 100k along this straight. The scrub is really thick and there is a couple of water filled culverts along the way.

This first property (RHS) appears only to have a colour-bond shed with the property cleared, many people live in these 'American style' barns.

This Google maps say 2010 so there could be more houses around now.

Just remember that the police in this case only let out information that they want the public to know. They have kept their cards extremely close to their chests.

Yeah, Houston Mitchell would have been too risky to pull over IMO as it's used a lot by locals. It's not super busy but you're bound to see 1 or 2 cars. Turning off Houston Mitchell onto Longpoint would have provided some cover... as I don't think anyone would drive through there unless they lived there or they were visiting the winery.

I agree. My thoughts are with the police when doing searches like this. It's bad enough but also knowing the information that they (likely) know. It must be traumatising.

http://www.theguardian.com/australi...ew-search-launched-for-missing-three-year-old

- A pathologist has concluded (the bones) are from an animal (that was quick. If only the Daily Telegraph had waited a few hours.)

- Police say new information from the public has sparked the search.

- It comes less than two weeks after investigators decided to broaden their scope, announcing a plan to speak to anyone who came within 1km of the home between 10am and 11am on 12 September, the day the boy went missing.

The fresh information was received well after police searched the Bonny Hills home and Laurieton Office of washing machine repairman Bill Spedding.
The search is based on recent information we have received and where a few lines of inquiry has taken us.
This is fresh information.

"What the evidence is , and whether it goes as far as a body, we simply don't know.
But it is not a search specifically for a grave site. Insp Gary Jubelin said.

This is fresh information ...... sound ominous and WS has not been cleared as a POI.

"Business as usual" = minimising.
"thanking the family" = oh well, some ppl are gullible. :slap:

I think it was the road he took that day. Shakin' that tree!
Mobile pings may tell if he'd stopped there for a while......or did someone see his van?

Exactly! POI and suspect are basically the same thing. The POI becomes a suspect when there is evidence to implicate them in the crime. The police are working very hard to find that evidence.

Makes me sick to think *if* WS is involved, that he could just be getting up and around like normal. Who could do that?!
Especially when sooner or later, he/she/they are going to be caught, the jig is up, they can't give WTs family that closure a bit sooner..

IF Spedding did something to William does that mean there would be a high chance he touched the children in his care?? If not, does that mean some Peddos prefer certain aged children.

Oh pardon the Peddos pun....:D

They all have different age and gender preferences, from what I learnt in child safety that is how kids get passed along to new people.
