A front on view of the van. The "S" is vaguely visible....

I'm an awful cynic but what are the odds that one letter in that word is barely visible yet the "peddo's" is pretty much untouched?

  • #363
posting a message on facebook referring to a perp going about their daily business,
his van spotted outside the grandmothers while police were searching for william
and now driving by the new search site?
seriously!

  • #364
Someone in that area doesn't like him, that's for sure. I wonder how recently they removed the S. If I was him, I'd be removing the rest of the letters before I drove that van anywhere. But, then, I would probably avoid driving past any search areas also - even if I had to take the long way around. Very goober-ish behaviour imo.

Business as usual.

A lot of people have confidence in LE. I wish I shared that confidence.

the area police are searching seems very specific in such a vast area, channel seven news reported its a 2km track to the lake, how would anyone know this piece of land was of interest except the perp?
did someones wife make an anonymous call to crimestoppers?
what are they crawling along looking for if not a grave and why not use the dogs?
yesterday news looked like they were using the big yellow excavater there but it may have been old footage from the bs search

Just caught up with all the news. As far as I'm aware, Spedding hasn't been given the all clear, so my opinion is the police may have something on him. I seriously doubt the police would be using all the resources to search an area near Spedding's home, unless they had good reason, unless it was purely coincidental. Having said all that, I'm still incredulous that even if he decided to visit Grandma's house to fix the washing machine on the spur of the moment without informing her, saw William and nabbed him - that it was so brazen and no-one saw his van in the street (including Grandma and the mother).

His current behaviour seems at odds with the earlier "close to a nervous breakdown" I have to say.

With regard to the "S" missing on his van - looks like someone's peeled it off, which doesn't surprise me either. I'd say someone not lost on the word play did so when his van was parked somewhere. I am surprised he's not phased by it however and hasn't either covered up the entire wording until he could get the "S" replaced or got it replaced before venturing outdoors.

I agree. Someone had a laugh taking the S away. But I can't believe he didn't take the rest of the letters off himself.

We have a very large SHELL gas station on the outskirts of our town. It used to have a very very tall, lighted sign, overlooking the freeway, that said ' 'WELCOME TO SHELL'

Yes, of course, kids used to take bb guns and shoot out the S, and it said ....well....:floorlaugh: They finally gave up and took down the sign.

Thats what I want to know.. Why wouldn't he fix it/remove the other letters?

Yesterday's Telegraph article and the AWW also reported the intended use of a cadaver dog.

"More than 30 officers will descend on the area this morning, including the Public Order Riot Squad, the Operational Support Group, police from the north region and the dog squad including a cadaver dog."

How would the dogs find anything after all the rain a couple weeks ago?

My first post on here, hello everyone. I think they are stirring the pot to gauge reactions from their POI or POIs. It's also quite possible they told the family beforehand that they would be releasing some sort of information here and there as the search progresses, to see what happens, and to prepare themselves for reading something that may be disturbing.

I would try to cut police some slack on this. They are not insensitive to the feelings of family members.

It's not the police I have a problem with, it's the media. It was the media who whipped up the "they found bones!!!!" frenzy yesterday.

Detectives arrived at the home of tradesman Bill Spedding on Tuesday morning as they continue to search nearby bushland in relation to the disappearance of three-year- old William Tyrell.

The head of the investigation, homicide Detective Inspector Gary Jubelin, arrived at the Bonny Hills semi-rural property a few minutes after Mr Spedding was seen leaving in his work van about 8.30am.

How many kids does WS have? 'Two of' makes it sound like more but if there are more, why do they not think he is innocent? Bad wording by MSM perhaps?

"No charges have been laid and two of Mr Spedding's children maintain their father has done nothing wrong and is distraught by the continued media attention."

May not necessarily mean the 3rd child thinks he's guilty, they may not have asked him/her (may be too young?)
