Quite possible Manny. I'd say investigators are still gathering evidence and IMO this case is going to be a doozy.

Ah yes the families are squeaky clean.

:worms:

Oh? Me too.

But magistrate Thomas Hodgson said it was a "reasonably strong prosecution case" with a "custodial sentence likely".

Spedding swallowed as bail was refused. :silly:

Spedding will next appear before the court on August 18.

I hope he needed a change of underwear the low life peddo 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬!

BBM... He might be needing a few clean pairs of jocks in his near future

How the cops busted a paedophile ring
Dated November 15, 2013

This occurred before and is not related to the William Tyrrell case but it is interesting nevetheless.

There is a video interview you can watch too with a police officer.

The global sting began in 2010 in Toronto. Internationally, 348 people have been arrested and 386 children removed from harm.

More than 100 search warrants were executed across Australia. Six children – one from the ACT and five in Western Australia – were removed from harm.

Sixty-five men, aged between 22 and 76, were arrested on 399 charges.

On the NSW Central Coast, a 72-year-old retired Catholic priest was arrested.

"Offenders don't fit any kind of stereotype: they are police officers and priests and teachers and charity workers and media people," Hetty Johnston, founder of child protection group Bravehearts, said.

He suffers from PTSD and when he has his dark days he'll climb the back fence and come and enjoy a meal and an evening cuppa with us and talks freely about his past. I've seen the tears in his eyes and we both speak about the slime that slithers on this Earth.

TGY, it's so wonderful that he can open up and talk to you about the troubling things he's seen. Just having someone listen is a huge help. Even if they don't share the experience or know completely what trauma you have seen, it makes you feel less alone.
I too have a friend who is still a cop, and suffers also from PTSD. It's the silent killer in the police force, and police bureaucracy sadly isn't very good at dealing with it. Our cops need all our trust and understanding, they lead a terrible life sometimes and must feel very isolated.
All the cops out there, here's to you and your never-ending, heatrending battles to protect and preserve the innocent from evil.

(Not a supersleuth, but . . . ) I don't think that's been discussed. Except that it was briefly noted that a New Zealand newspaper, I think, reported Spedding as William's grandfather. We didn't know whether they had just made a mistake of fact, or whether they weren't so careful as Australian papers to censor anything related to William's family.

Holy Moly this is the most out there incredible info that has surfaced thus far....I am gob smacked if this is indeed factual....wow..no mention but OTT

My dad is an almost retired cop and his patience and tolerance is paper thin, snaps at the littlest thing (at home). He recently separated from my mother who, granted, is a lunatic, but I think work was a part of it though. I'm hoping he retires soon

OK I punched what you were asking and many many MSM refers him as 'a grandfather' or 'the 63 year old grandfather', not specifically William's grandfather.

If we could have a link but I'm feeling it's a typo.

Pedophile King kept under watch until 2020

In November, 2007, a drunken King broke into a Grafton home through a broken back door. He walked into the girl's bedroom, turned off her nightlight, undressed and assaulted her.

The girl woke up during the assault and asked King to stop. When he eventually left - leaving his underwear behind - he broke a window on his way out and broke into a car too.

He was initially given a two-year suspended sentence - causing outrage in the community - in February, 2009. He was sentenced to seven years' jail on appeal - but was out on parole in August, 2012.

Just months later he was back in jail after breaching orders to not drink alcohol - which the court found was a factor in his offending.

Is the crossing of paths significant in your opinion?
Because we couldn't sleuth 'you know who' most of us went behind the scenes and many did find a crossing of paths on FB.
I think that's all I can say.

If it's the same path I found out about, I'd say it's pretty significant. Could potentially explain why it was William who was taken, as opposed to other kids in the town

MP backs national pedophile register and chemical castration

"I think once they have offended the first time and been charged and found guilty for that offence, they should be on the register from day one. No second chance."

Mr Christensen agrees, saying that "something needs to be done".

"The State Government has been increasing the sentences... but the register really does need to be addressed," he said.

The pensions have dropped dramatically to what our police used to get even with diagnoses.

Another of his true long stories shortened.
Recently a girl was viciously raped by a man who was wearing a balaclava and kept asking her if she knew who he was, she kept saying no. He eventually left. When the police arrived she knew exactly who he was because of his speech impediment!! He was the cleaner at the McDonalds where she worked. When the police did their research the rapist had recently been released from prison for killing one of his victims because she'd pulled off his balaclava.
My cop friend said if she'd said yes, he would have killed her too.
The murderer overheard the 16 year old speaking with a workmate saying her parents were going away the weekend.
My cop friend was gobsmacked that no proper searches were ever done on this killer!

I thought of Jill Meagher saying she was going to the police, that's why Bailey said he killed her, my cop friend said you never never say that!

I'll lay off now as it's all so off topic. WHERE'S WILLIAM??

A CABOOLTURE man has walked free from court despite pleading guilty to a host of child sex offences which included filming himself sexually abusing a young boy.

Corey David Jamieson, 21, pleaded guilty in Brisbane District Court to the indecent treatment of a boy under 16 and a boy under 12, producing and possessing child exploitation material and possessing a dangerous drug.

Crown Prosecutor Ron Swanwick told the court that police who raided Jamieson's unit last year found him naked in bed with one of the boys.

Judge Kerry O'Brien sentenced Jamieson to two years behind bars but ordered the sentence be suspended because Jamieson had spent 271 days in prison.

Davie, now 46, was jailed for sexually assaulting a boy at a State Emergency Services function in Newcastle in 2005. The attack came two years after he was released from a 12-year jail sentence for sexually assaulting 10 boys.

He used his position as a Cub Scout leader, babysitter and community volunteer to meet his victims.

Disgraceful. The USA is light years ahead of us when it comes to jail time for these crimes. And like someone linked earlier on in this thread, you know it's bad when these monsters intentionally come here because they know if they're caught the sentencing isn't too harsh. Disgusting

At this stage I can only find this:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...lice-search-6222711+&cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=au
and the text doesn't say he's William's grandfather; only the title. I thought I remembered more than that--something in the text as well. Perhaps the text has been altered or perhaps I misremember. However, there was some mention of the article's apparent mistake on Websleuths soon after Spedding began to feature in the case.

Edit: Websleuths reference was on 23 January. Title of NZ article is "Spiderman suited boy's grandfather allowed home police search." The claim is not repeated in the body of the article. I agree that if it were not a simple error, the relationship would hardly have been ignored therein.

This is probably what drives some cops to the wall - detectives like Jubelin bust a gut and ruin their marriages and some do-gooder judge gives this lowlife a slap on the wrist and practically an invite to do it all over again.

OMG we have some sick people in this world and I hope he received a life sentence after re-offending
