Well, that may be what you believe, but with all due respect, it is not necessarily what I believe. But then this is only IMO. After all, I never heard the conversation.

The boyfriend had a job as a caregiver.

OK. Let's talk about a possible motive then. If she didn't have the cash, and I'll concede that she was broke and may not have, then it could provide a motive. If I had worked all night driving around a bunch of drunks, I would probably be a little on edge. If I was a little unstable, then probably more so. What if she told the person that picked her up after a 20 minute or more out of the way drive that she didn't have the cash, and that's why she made all of those desperate calls and that last ditch text to her boyfriend (for payment)? What if her inability to get him on the phone set someone off?

Wow! You guys have been busy :) I also think this was someone she knew or had a level of trust. Thinking like a teen: She just had the day from H#LL and was just done. Maybe the last straw was watching the cab drive off. She may have been delayed by someone she knew, but didn't necessarily trust, then when the cab left she was like "Fine. Take me to xyz."

But I just don't think she called that cab. Maybe I watch too many crime dramas, but I really feel like there was a coverup. Not so much a well thought out plan, but just a fly by the seat of the pants and have gotten lucky so far kind of plan. The inconsistencies in the police report bother me. Yeah, maybe the officer was jaded about the whole "runaway teen" thing and didn't take it too seriously at first. Maybe when he saw the time that the boyfriend called the roommate he took that as the basis for his timeline because people make mistakes but machines don't lie. But what if the one with the phone wasn't being truthful. How can the call to the roommate "come get Adrienne because shes walking home" come at roughly the same time as the independent call to 911 regarding Adrienne's car hitting the median? The only timeline that doesn't seem to make sense is the one that the BF gave, even though its the one that LE based their official timeline on.

I don't know if CabGuy is still here, but maybe he can answer this: Did the person who made the call for a cab, or left the message on the machine actually give her name as Adrienne? Or was it just implied based on the circumstances of the evening and followup by law enforcement?

Can someone clarify something for me, please? I think that the whole scenario of her leaving with bf, how she left his place, the ride back and her getting out and going to apt, the packing of bag, leaving, returning after wreck and leaving again is based on what her roommates and bf said. Were there other people that verified these scenarios, too? Have we heard of anything corroborating this timeline and story other than these 3 and the phone bf showed LE with a different time than roommate reported?

Adrienne didn't have a job. She hasn't worked in months. She had no money, as stated by her dad. I believe that's probably true. IMO

I'm pretty sure I read that Dad had given her some money (days before the gas money) to shop with. At any rate, she probably had some money stashed away. I think the original concern was that she didn't have enough money to run away.

found it!!:

RICK SALINAS, FATHER: When I saw her on that Thursday before that weekend that she went missing, she was just in a good mood. I had given her and my son money to go do a little bit of shopping. I had come -- I had came from a meeting, my local union. I came home, they took off for an hour or two. They come back, and she told me that she was going to go back home. That was Thursday. I (inaudible) her home, gave her a nice long hug and I said bye, and that was the last time I had talked to her since she came up missing

And note that she would've already been in the car when she made those desperate calls. Did the police release the times those calls and that text to the boyfriend were made? Were they during the time that her appointment could have already picked her up?

More importantly, it would explain the desperation of the call sequence even better than her simply being drunk and obsessed, which I don't feel she was at that time of the day. Do we know if she left any voice messages, and if so what they said?

No. Reviewing again is a good thing. IMO It's easy to forget that a minimum of 36 to 48 hours passed by before the first subjects were interviewed. As I understand it, Shainey Duggan was notified by I think it was Suzanne Coss, Adrienne's mother. And so when she came home she knew they were waiting. In fact I don't think anyone had entered the apt previous to that even though it was reported the door had been left unlocked.
Where is your mind headed? Lol I'm curious to know.

No clue really. I've been wrong so many times before partly due to statistics, that is thinking it must be the husband/bf, and partly due to the hinky characters involved who I don't find trustworthy or believable, that I try real hard to keep an open mind. I've learned that LE almost always looks at the closest relationships first and works their way outward though. So I tend to think that way too. How many of us will win the lotto in out lifetime? Not too many. Then figure the odds that a girl in distress in her real life is going to be plucked off the face of the earth by a stranger. Although making poor decisions while in distress, increases the odds of that happening I guess. Even when I'm in my house and emotionally upset about something, I've noticed I'm more accident prone. Like burning my finger on the oven grate or breaking a glass in the sink, etc. Right?

One aspect of sharing ideas in posts that bugs me sometimes is when people assume because someone is asking questions along a certain line of thinking that they're making an accusation. That's what I think sleuthing is especially when we have nothing to go on. We're writing factitious scripts that may contain an element of truth.

Yes I remember reading that. But I thought there was added meaning in that the roommate thought it was strange that AS hadn't returned because she didn't ask anybody to care for her dog. Regardless, you'd think someone would take the poor doggie out rather than letting it poop on the floor. Dogs don't like to do that anyway (even if peeps don't mind!).

Wait, if AS intended to go to her bf's place in her own car, why wouldn't she have taken her dog with her? She intended to stay for awhile which is why she packed a bag.

Exactly!!

What if the bf crashed the car? The witness kept referring to "they". I know LE said it appears only one person was in the car but things could have been moved around. Could AS have hit her head hard? Maybe he's the one who needed a cab.

Do we know if anybody actually knew the cab driver, Tom? Since he came from Scottsdale, obviously he'd be driving back there too. So I don't know what tracking his GPS proves really. He came and he went - could have picked up anybody along the way outside the view of cameras.

I don't know if she had the same relationship with her pup as I did with mine, but when I was really upset, esp relationship issues and feeling lonely or hurt, I wanted my dog with me. She was my comfort and consistent companion. That's why they make such good therapy animals...
And I agree that it is a good idea to put all kinds of ideas out for everyone to consider, and I appreciate it. Opinions and brainstorming are not declarations of absolute truth, and keeps us thinking.... so thanks everyone for sharing!

I was thinking maybe a female crashed the vehicle. And they were the ones who were 19 and distressed and "I just crashed my car and need a cab" on the answering machine. If Adrienne was at the BF's house, could she have given her roommate permission to use the car? Or maybe she was driving the car and not riding her bike "looking" for Adrienne? I thought I read somewhere that the key to her car was located at the house. Maybe the BF never actually gave back the phone to Adrienne, but gave it to the roommate to return to Adrienne.

But then, why the lying? So maybe my idea is too far out there :/

It appears IMO that she had never left her pup without instructions before... add in all the other stuff ...
THIS is no coincidence.

What we have is Adrienne's calls made to a cab, cab shows up, "In a minute", cabbie smokes a cigerette...........................

She's bustin' hump to get over to BF's. She's not going to cross the street to O'Reilly's, time is of the essence.
"In a minute".....No argument, no yelling, no screaming heard by dude smoking his cigarette. No vehicle blasting away from the rear of AMPM.
"In a minute". She's not worried about paying the cab driver, she'll roust her BF when she gets there, he works, and he probably got paid, whether he was on weekly or bi-weekly paychecks, he's got some cash.
"In a minute". The birds started making their chatter about 15 minutes ago, and the sunrise will be in about 15 more, the street lights are slowly turning off. It has taken almost 10 minutes to walk to the AMPM from her Apt, almost there.
"In a minute".........
Walk.jpg
Did she hop the low stucco fence on the west side of AMPM? Did she turn into the North entrance of the strip mall? Did she go to the entrance just to the North West of the AMPM?
"In a minute"......60 seconds +/-....where would that put her on this map? With people going in and out of Circle K and AMPM, random cars stopping at the intersection of Hardy and University? Foot traffic......bicyclists.......at least 2 cabs........
"In a minute".......the last thing we know Adrienne said.

Without hearing more from LE or seeing supplemental reports, follow-up interviews etc...there is not much anyone can do but have an opinion. Many of the seeming discrepancies may have been cleared up weeks ago. Or not. Who knows. JMO
