Well I don't know why they would not search the taxi. That does not make any sense. I bet they did.

Only if it was available at the time and he gave them permission. Also, they may not have wanted to spend the money it takes for a forensic analysis until further evidence was obtained. Like a video, for example.

Another thing - if the cab company has more than one sedan that looks the same, he could have given them the wrong one to search.

Ah. Ok. Then the possibility is still there provided he was driving a dark sedan that night. I don't think it could have been her boyfriend. He wouldn't have had time to receive the text that she was on her way and then drive there by the time the car was seen on camera. I mean, I suppose it could have been some clever ruse where he texted himself and the cabbie, but LE would likely have evidence of this from her prior communications with him. Besides, I think they have specifically cleared him.

I don't think the cab driver has been cleared, no? I thought he just wasn't a POI or suspect. The boyfriend, however, was cleared, IIRC.

As for the planned rendevous, I'm not buying it. Whomever she came across wasn't planned - unless it was the cabbie. Or a drug deal (doubtful). If it wasn't the cabbie, it was someone she trusted though. Either directly trusted by being someone she knew that 'drove by', or indirectly by being an authority. Remember, she would have talked to whomever it was for 12-14 minutes before texting that she'd be at AMPM "in a minute".

I dunno... the "drug deal" crossed my mind... it's no secret she and her friends partook of the green so maybe... just maybe... (Personally, I don't have a problem with green. I don't do it, but it seems far more harmless than alcohol or any of the other countless prescriptions out there *waiver*) and it is entirely possible... friend of a friend? Isn't that usually how those things go down?

Edit: Harmless unless you get killed, kidnapped or robbed during a deal.

To the cab driver? A phone call. Doesn't necessarily mean it was her, I s'pose.

If it wasn't her texting, then why bother texting a reply to the cab driver in the first place? He called/texted her one minute and she responded, and the next minute it went straight to voicemail. If it was someone else, why not just let everything go to voicemail/not respond to texts? Especially in a purported one minute timeframe. Makes no sense if it wasn't her.

Unless the cab driver did it. That's the only other reason a need for a reply from her would exist.

And doesn't the video pick up the car again, leaving the lot? Or is it on any other video on the street? Seems strange to be only on one tape.

Could be LE has a plan and this little "snack" of information is part of it... they may very well have everything right down to the plate number.

I'm thinking it was purposely turned off. It would have had to have been tragically coincidental for it not to have been under these circumstances and within this timeframe.

I will say that my husband's phone "pinged" several times and then just stopped (when the battery died). I wonder if they will canvass the area of the video footage to look for her phone given this new "evidence".

...Goblinsolo is probably out there doing that right now.

Her (most likely) being taken away in a car really makes doing foot searches far more difficult. I can't help thinking she may not be found except by accident.
