I think that for those of us who have been here for a while it's hard to see cases like these, because we've seen too many times how they often end (or don't end, because sadly a lot go unsolved). And sometimes that clouds our judgement, because no matter how different the case is, we've seen it all before.

I don't think it necessarily clouds the judgment of those who have been here awhile. It makes us more likely to cut to the chase and, as Socrates said, "follow the argument". If anything, emotions cloud judgments.

Sure, we've seen many of these cases, and all of them are emotionally draining for alot of folks, but that's not why we're here. We're here to find these people come hell or high water, alive or no. We're here to look at the information we have and use it to help families either get reunited or have closure. Fantastical ideas not grounded in anything but one's angst and imagination get in the way of that. All opinions and insights are not of equal value. That's what folks demand nowadays, but it's also part of the reason we're not such a bright nation anymore (trophies for all!). Sorry, but it's true.

For those of you who do not live in the Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale (Greater Phoenix Area):

We Phoenicians are VERY distraught over the disappearance of Adrienne. If we get emotional or seem overly frustrated, that is why. Some of us, like Goblin, have gone way out of our way to attempt to share with others exactly what the area is like and help others to get a feeling for how Adrienne might have felt those last few hours.

This has all been in an effort to help find her. I know so many of you have been here for years and you have differing opinions that may vary from ours. We, for the most part, are new to WS and so maybe we don't think just like you do because of our newness.

But we are trying our best to share our thoughts and our feelings and our theories, even though they may be different from yours.

We truly love this community and want to follow the rules and regulations that have been set forth and appreciate it when you remind us that we are violating, because we don't do it intentionally.

We live in this community in Arizona. We are invested in this community. We want to see Adrienne come home safely. And if not, we want to see the perpetrator/perpetrators caught and punished.

Forgive us for our zealousness. We truly don't mean to be that way.

Please allow us to post our feelings and our theories without you taking offense, provided they do not violate TOS or you in any way.

Thank you so much.

MissDemeanor I tend to not say much (well at least on the forum...I can hear my friends rofl at me not saying much). My neighbors on this thread has left an impression on me. I am in Chandler.

What a great group of people so near! Especially you. I just seem to get a sense of your person. I like the new avatar but it doesn't seem you as much as the other. Plus, I think "MissDemeanor" is really cute. As you can see I lack imagination when selecting a name.

Nineteen is a terrible age. I don't know how I ever survived my youth. I came very near doing myself in (accidentally) when I was 19. I apparently had lousy choice in men, too. I stayed in terrible on-again off-again relationships which frequently hurt to my very being.

I so want Adrienne to return so she can find out the first 19 years of your life are not representative of who you are. Thanks for trying so hard to reach her.

Sincerely,
Suzie

Evidently so.

I think you're allowed to direct people there, just not allowed to say what was stated as it's not a verified source. And we definitely can't discuss it here because it's all considered rumor unless MSM picks up on it or LE discloses it to the public.

I can't remember what you had originally posted though, because I wanted to jump over to the Adrienne Salinas Missing facebook page before I missed it. But this may be a reason why your post disappeared?

Please continue here and remember the rules. You can find them right here: The Rules - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community AND don't overlook these!!!!

Victim Friendly

Websleuths is a victim friendly forum. Attacking or bashing a victim is not allowed. Discussing victim behavior, good or bad is fine, but do so in a civl and constructive way and ONLY IF IT IS RELEVANT TO THE CASE. Additionally, sleuthing family members that are not suspect is not allowed. Don't make random accusations or post personal information (even if it is public) like parking tickets, address, or first and last names of all their relatives and their neighbors. Also, never "bash" or attack them, or accuse them of involvement. However that does not mean that family members cannot come into discussion as the facts and issues of the case are discussed.

Social Networks

Regarding Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking or blog websites: Links may be used to direct posters to view something on a social networking page. But postings on social networking sites are not considered fact; they are rumor. Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed. Paraphrasing is okay. (Exception: If the Twitter or Facebook post belongs to a verified news station, it may be copied. But a link should still be provided.)

Also, social networking pages may only be linked if they are directly related to a case, i.e. the victim or suspect. We don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman, or postal carrier just because they know the main player. We also NEVER link to minor's pages (unless they are the victim). And be sure that the page actually belongs to the person being discussed. Do not link to someone if you are not 100% sure it is the correct person. And if a social networking is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private!

MINORS: Websleuths.com™ does not allow the naming of, or photographs of, minors (children under the age of 18) on the Site unless the child is a missing or deceased person or where law enforcement has identified the minor as a perpetrator of a crime and the minor will be tried as an adult. If a missing child is found and it is learned that such minor was the victim of child exploitation, references to the child’s name and likeness will be removed, and further posting of such information will not be allowed.

Thanks,

Cat

Just bumping this forward from the first page of the thread. ;)

As I understand it you are allowed to 'paraphrase' however. Right? You just can't copy and paste their words here.

Am I right? LOL

  • #747
Unless a FB page is off-limits for some reason, paraphrasing a post is allowed, but the info has to be considered a rumor.

  • #748
Righto folks...please get back on track!!

No discussing comments from facebook.

  • #749
I am not taking that as fact, from how it reads, JMO.

Yes, but first you must determine whether the FB page is allowed.

1) Does it belong to the victim or suspect?

2) Is it an MSM or LE page?

3) An official "missing" page or victim's page that the mod's have given the okay?

If you can't answer yes to one of the above three questions, then the FB is completely OFF LIMITS, and you can't reference it at all.

Hope that helps. ;)

Thank you for the clarification. I was just re-reading the rules to find out what the problem was. I got it now.

Thanks again.

Well, me personally, I can't seem to wrap my head around anything in this case. It's like this case is one big cloud/fog to my brain, like a math problem I just can't understand or something, nothing is clicking...This is all you guys, I have absolutely nothing to contribute. Right now, I see a plethora of possible suspects:

1. Random Perp(s)
2. BF
3. Friends / roommates
4. Someone from the party
5. Cab Driver
6. George...
7. I'm sure there's someone I'm forgetting, lol

I appreciate everyone's input here and all theories put forward. Most of all, I appreciate everyone's commitment to helping find Adrienne.

Now, everyone group hug, and keep trekking!

:grouphug:

Where is Adrienne!?!

It's late. Goodnight all. Have a good night and a better tomorrow.

I completely understand, it's always harder when the missing is one of your own. I think it's important for every opinion to be heard, because the reality is that we have no idea where she is or what happened to cause her to go missing. Things can sometimes get tense, and people may get frustrated with each other and the different theories that may come up, but at the end of the day we're all here for the same reason. Whether new or old members, we're all here because we care, which I think is something pretty special.

I think that for those of us who have been here for a while it's hard to see cases like these, because we've seen too many times how they often end (or don't end, because sadly a lot go unsolved). And sometimes that clouds our judgement, because no matter how different the case is, we've seen it all before. This is why it's important to have the newer members around, you have a fresh set of eyes to look at things, and can come up with theories that we may not consider.

Just speaking for myself, and I haven't been around nearly as long as other members. :fence:

RSBM

This is what I think it will all boil down to. She was a young, vulnerable, upset girl, walking the streets at an early hour on her own. Unfortunately that very rarely ends well.

But I do still have hope, because I'd love nothing more than to see her come home alive. I never give up hope until the day the missing person is found, because sometimes you just never know. :twocents:

Nice post. :)

I'm afraid I agree, the part I bolded is pretty much what this comes down to, whoever the responsible party/parties turn out to be. "She was a young, vulnerable, upset girl, walking the streets at an early hour on her own. Unfortunately that very rarely ends well."

Re: the dark 4 door sedan and surveillance footage of Adrienne walking: there must be a reason why LE has not released either of these 2 videos. One would think they would want the public's help in helping to positively identify the vehicle, as well as have anticipation that someone's memory could be triggered by viewing the last footage of Adrienne.

Oh yeah, I think so too. They have their reasons.
