So one west facing camera was able to get the entrance to the south on uni and the other camera was able to get the entrance facing east on Hardy?

If LE is clearing the BF but not the driver, then they can't clear the driver, IMO. Some LEA's never clear anyone verbally, but since this one has (BF) then it makes cabbie stand out. Especially if they really won't comment on him specifically when asked (if true).

My faith in media reporting is zero. I only listen to quotes from LE made on video, as far as taking in info.

"Simon said they have searched his son's home, and Friday police took a DNA sample. Tempe police have not named the cab driver as a person of interest or suspect."

And the cabbie has been cooperating 100%.

""You get the call. In this case it came in at 4:23, and the closest driver was about 20 minutes away," said Thomas Simon, owner of Scottsdale Cab Guy. He said the driver was his son, Tom.

"It's very difficult for him, very difficult," Simon said. "He's a good boy. He cares about people, and he's worried about this girl."

Simon said after getting the call, his son headed to that area and followed their procedure.

"He calls back a couple of times along the way to make sure that the person is going to wait," Simon said.

Simon said his son called Salinas at 5:04 a.m. and 5:05 a.m. to make sure she was headed to the gas station. He said at 5:06 a.m., Salinas called his son, saying she'd be there in a minute. Then he called Salinas at 5:07 a.m. looking for her, but the phone went to voicemail.

"In a place like this, they would get out, look around, make sure the person wasn't in the store," Simon said. He said his son did just that but never saw Salinas.

Now he says his son is cooperating with police but didn't have anything to do with Salinas' disappearance.

"We hope Tempe police are able to find whoever did this or harm or anything else to Adrienne," Simon said."

the 2 cab theory, yes! but, what would of led salinas to spend 12 plus mins at that auto store lot?

  • #607
I am sure LE uncovered whatever info we (well, not me) can uncover here. Maybe they ARE looking at other people associated with cab company and that is why they are not willing to discuss the driver.

I wonder what the date of the police report is, and if the video time has been verified since then. I recall some cases where the time was wrong on the videos, which drives me crazy.

We don't actually know if she said "I'll be there in a minute." her last call to the cabbie from her cell phone at 5:06.

The owner of the cab company said that. Is that considered "hearsay".

I'm wondering.

Just one more question:

If the cops could tell from the surveillance cams that the vehicle in question was a 'dark 4 door sedan', couldn't they tell what the make and model was as well?

This seems vague.

Wish we knew if cabbie went into store for sure, via video or clerk witness. If so, what did he do next? Wait a while? Get back on the phone? Leave right away? Did he have other fares on that shift afterward? Would have been getting into airport run time.

i mentioned way back when that perhaps she knew this driver (or one of the drivers from this company - having trouble finding out how many cars, how many drivers, etc. - the business is somehow operating under the radar - still trying to find stuff) espcially if she needed to rely on rides for a bit after being so sick earlier this year.

It does not seem out of the realm of possibilty TO ME that students in that area (she was not an ASU student, but many in that area are) are familiar with cab drivers and maybe even have one company they use. It is a big party area and I imagine drivers hang out at closing time there IMO.

I remember that.

There was a post where someone googled cabs drivers in Scottsdale, or from Scottsdale on their I-phone and this company was the first result.

My bet is that he knew she was at OReilly's because she told him over the phone that's where she was. He probably called her when he got to the area (4:43 give or take) and she said she was there. After he did what he did, he then went to AMPM and was seen on camera. She was probably in the car. Somewhere.

after looking at fb, twitter, and pininterest social media for the cab driver, the one thing that bugs me is that the car seen on cam going into the auto parts store parking, is a dark 4 door sedan as reported by the news story, 2 mins after a slender girl walked into the same lot. thats all verified, correct?

well, the vehicles, AND ESP the field managers' description.
those cars are HEAVILY marked w info, on hood, back, etc for the cab company.

there should be no difficulty by LE identifying the car in parts store lot, with simon scotts guy cab, if there is that connection. i
and, without it being cleared, im a bit suspect at least to those clues.

cheers yall!

Maybe LE leaked this info about the dark 4 door sedan on purpose. Just to see what a POI to them would do if they thought that LE had a tape of their car on surveillance.

This could be bait.

a very horrific theory. and, i can't dismiss any of the details of yr theory, yet. its plausible.

i never until today even leaned towards such theories, but the evidence could, with just a verification of whatever the car looked like, in that car part lot, either solidify or negate the theory....

I really don't like this theory because I don't want it to be true. But it has merit.
