I think she passed out in the cab and then woke up to herself being assaulted.

Oh geez.... I totally see this happening. Yuck..stomach just flopped..

The car isn't owned by the cab driver. It is owned by the company he works for. Without a warrant to the company, or an officer /legal rep of the company (in this case, probably dad) giving LE express permission to confiscate it for a comprehensive search, they can't touch it. Even if it was parked at his home.

this made me think of the Melissa Rodriguez case. her estranged husbands work truck (amtrak) was impounded and examined for clues (including gps) as to what could have happened to her. but i can see how a family owned business such as a taxi company might be a little trickier..

Playing Dev's Advocate for a moment here:

For the record, doesn't it strike you guys as extremely stupid and overly obvious for a cab driver to do something like this, IF responsible for this? It just seems so stupid, I mean how on earth would someone expect to get away with something like that? Also, I have not come across any former complaints of inappropriate actions towards women, allegations, or violent charges on these guys, unless I'm missing something...

I doubt she passed out. She was hyper, full of adrenaline.

I asked this question before, don't recall a response, sorry if I missed it somehow-
Does anyone remember a case where a random cab driver was involved in such a case?

I believe a lot of crimes are crimes of opportunity.

How many cases can we say that it would be stupid and obvious for the perp to have done it, but it turns out that's exactly what happened?

4:53 a.m. -- Cab drivers calls Salinas when he can’t find her at convenience store at Hardy and University drives. He tells her she is on her way.

5:06 a.m. -- Cab drivers says he calls Salinas but no one answers. Her phone goes dead."

much more at link

rsbm.. so, he called her at 4:53 because he couldn't find her at AMPM and he waits around for (at least?) 13 minutes for her after that?? i wonder if AMPM has him on video that whole time?

well, i didnt know of any of the top of my head UNTIL someone showed a retweet of a news story on the cabguys' twitter, where he seemed to post an article about a cabbie murdering a woman, that was abducted!! how very random

go back a page or two, u will see that... very strange.

so, i guess that counts, right?

Happened in SF about 8 years ago..

WAS is the operative word. Woman scorned and then flight rush from the crash may have used all the adrenaline she had. Mix in any alcohol or drugs, and a 110 lb girl is going to be wiped out.

i even think, that IF she was being chased from hardy/brown apt area to ampm, that due to her night of the crash, possible intoxication, AND that her lung capacity was so weak from surgery, well...

she wouldnt be able to run very long, IF she had to. thats why when i heard of a girl walking at oreillys on cam (which has been verified to not be her, by father, which we have to take as truth...)

BUT i still can theorize,..that a slender girl walking right there on OPPOSITE SIDE OF STREET could still be pictured as her trying to get away from someone, she wasnt going to ampm at that point. But, not running. she was winded... out of breath. and then the cab/random car just says, HEY HEY i was sent to pick u up, sweetie! i wasn't CHASING U, why u running? then 14-20 min convo of calming her exhausted self down, and well...

thats a theory. its a theory that has NOTHING to do w the specific cab we are talking about, it could be random car, even.

cheers yall. trying to throw out other ideas because im hellbent on one

Haven't viewed the video yet---about to.
I have been "out in cyberspace" for a couple hours viewing "pics and comments".

My hinky meter has just quadrupled. I'm on board here with you guys, goblin, Tonto... I bet someone owns the whole collection of the "Girls Gone Wild" videos. And he is not young. I'm guessing Jr. was an unknowing alibi.

While one can not rule out the 400 plus RSOs in the area, all of which would have had motive and opportunity, the significance of comments and insight into personality are standing out.

JMO.

Sorry but the interview at the end...not buying it. JMO.

Yeah but the video doesn't lie. Not sure what to think of all this. I have found a great deal of info on the cabbie today and know now who he is. My thoughts are now up in the air. I can see how this could affect him being the last person who was contacted by AS. Still researching and will update.

I personally am now leaning towards " crime of opportunity" and feel this is random. If you have driven the area and stopped by where she left her car, I'm surprised she made it home the first time from walking from there. Bad area and anything can be leaking in the bushes.

Why is cabbie sr always wearing a disguise on tv? Cap and shades in every tv interview I've seen.

So now the times are out of joint again. The times are really important and what we've worked with now has to be looked at again with this added info. So why now is there 8 minutes that he supposedly waited when she said she'd be there in a minute??? And why did it take him 30 minutes to get to the AM/PM instead of 20, that time of night???

All the change in timeline does for me is gives me a creepier feeling.....................
