Websleuths is not going to solve this one, Cab guy.

*Repeating this post for clarity and organization and at a personal request.*

I know of two cases off the top of my head that WS had a hand in resolving/solving.

WS members send LE pictures of a house owned by Deedee Moore and directed them to the backyard, where LE eventually found Abraham Shakespeare's body. Deedee Moore even posted here, trying to derail the WS investigation.

And WS members got ahold of Casey Anthony's computer dump after the case was over, went through it and discovered that only while Casey Anthony was home, and under Casey Anthony's personal log on, they sound a search for "fool proof suffocation." (sic). That was the smoking gun that could have turned that case on it's ear and probably had a different outcome.

LE said her wallet was there in her room, didn't they? I am really not going to start believing LE is lying about basic things like that. There would be no reason.

A body was just pulled from a canal in mesa. Will update when I get more info. Just broke.

Please god don't say it's AS.

(extremely annoyed as I can't seem to get the media source to confirm or not. Ugh. It might be a bogus rumor someone called into the station (evil))

My understanding is that we can discuss rumor as long as it is clearly stated as such.

I don't see the feasibility of it though. I mean, I can see her feeling helpless that she wrecked her car and perhaps didn't want dad to find out, and feeling doubly helpless because her boyfriend wasn't there for her, and then feeling triply helpless because she may have been a little under the influence, but if she left on her own I am confident she would be back by now. I have little doubt of this. I would be more inclined to believe suicide over voluntary disappearance at this point in the game.

BBM

Discussing rumors is not allowed on WS.

I agree. I know I couldn't manage to hide out for six weeks without leaving a trail, unless I emptied my bank account before leaving, and possibly not even then, it just is not that simple once police are looking for you.

I hope that body is not Adrienne. 2Hip where did you hear this? I can't find
anything on it at all.

I am always on the fence about whether I want it to be the person - especially after a long time missing. In a way, I don't want it to be, but in another way I want her family to have closure if she is deceased. We see too many people that are never found and too many families that never get answers.

The issue with the wallet being left at her apartment always bothered me 'cause typically most of us take our wallet everywhere.....for ID purposes and especially for AS who had to pay for the cab ride.

Anyone else missing in the area?

Anyone else missing in the area?

My friend is a journalist and started hearing gossip of someone being found in the Mesa canal. I'm calling it a rumor now so far as no one has published an article and my friend hasn't heard much else. I HATE rumor mills. So nothing's going on. Of I find a source for the rumored info to link here at any point you guys will be first to know promise.

Hmm. A quick Google map of Mesa indicates that the only canals around there would be part of the Salt River - which looks to be a part of <gasp> Tempe Town Lake. Does the river flow that way?

They will be able to tell if it is AS pretty quickly due to the scar from surgery and how thin she is.

Like Tonto, I hope it is not AS but the family has had no closure and must be in agony.

And the next question is this: what is LE going to do about a preditor in a town known to be full of college kids partying? Scary.

Yeah turns out some idiot "reporter" tweeted the story about the mans body found in a Mesa canal 4 days ago as if it happened today. The original report no less. I think this is the culprit. Want to punch their stupid face. Fin.

It is doubtful they would be able to tell after six weeks.

We're at two rumors so far tonight. Can we try for three?

Whether or not she took her wallet means little at this point, IMO. Apparently she did not have a lot of money and hasn't been using credit cards. Nor do I believe she had any intentions other than getting over to that guy's house on that night. Her intentions could have been to run off to Florida, for all I know, but in reality, she never made it out of Tempe, IMO, at least not under her own power.

Just Google streetview'd her path from her apartment to the AMPM/OReillys again. I can think of eaxctly zero practical reasons she would have wanted to walk to meet a cab way down there. There are ample places along the way she could have met him - including right outside her apartment complex - that would've kept her from being seen by friends and party goers.
