the detective who went to the judge to get warrants in this case said that there was probable cause that a kidnapping had taken place. The judge who issued the warrants, also stated that there was probable cause that a kidnapping had taken place.

I think this is being confused with roomie's statement about seeing her on the lawn and her having packed a bag prior to the wreck. I am getting the dropped-off by BF and post wreck scenarios mixed up as well.

It was Cab_Guy who stated LE was calling this a "kidnapping". Where that info came from is anyone's guess (only Cab_Guy knows).

This is something I think the majority of us can agree on, but of course I am only speaking for myself. (The folks/cooperative part, not the laundry/eating part. *wink*)

Excellent point!

There are a number of ways that people announce where they are and what they are doing... Facebook check-in/statuses/photos, Instagram photos, Tweets, etc. It would be extraordinary if not a single person, in that age group, posted something on their social media.

My guess is that people did, and they have now set their profiles to private or the police have asked them to hide the information due to the on-going investigation. Even if that is the case though, it's still extremely odd that nobody has outed any pics or postings from that weekend.

IMO

Hello everyone,
New poster here have lurked forever though and followed all of you on this case. I have looked at both roommates and the boyfriends facebook accts. Only Shaney has the poster of Adrienne posted asking her friends to share it and announcing the car wash fundraisers and such. The boyfriend and the other roommate do not have pics available to view of anyone nevermind Adrienne and not only that, they have nothing about Adrienne posted on their walls. Their pics are private but their walls aren't I can see both just changed their profile pics this past weekend. This in itself is disturbing. If nothing else, you'd think these two would at the very least attempt to circulate the missing poster.

Okay, regarding the boyfriend:
I can see why some people would suspect him. Personally, I don't see anything too weird in their behaviour, they are pretty young and Adrienne seemed to have been kinda jealous, so her "causing a scene" by getting out of the car etc. is understandable. I met my share of, uh, fiery women, especially in that age.

However, if we consider the hints that one or more of the party guests may not tell the whole truth, then it becomes questionable if she indeed ever returned from the very first trip to the boyfriends home.
Her clothes end up in her apartment.
Someone drives her car in an extreme hurry, manages to kill the front tires and has to drop it off a few blocks from her apartment and can't drive it to wherever it was intended to go.
Someone makes the calls to her bf (her bf's phone), who doesn't answer, and then the cab calls.

I wouldn't take cell phone pings alone as a clear indicator of position of the owner. E.g., if I were on the way to my apartment with someone, and unexpectedly end up killing my passenger, I could leave/drop off our cell phones at my apartment and then go and dispose of the body. After that, return to my apartment, pick up the phones and pretend to bring my victim home or whatever other scenario I want to create.
Criminals in this day and age usually know about cell phone pings, and quite a few have used it to try to hide the true events.

The problems here: LE should/would be very aware that a phone is just that, a phone, and would not just rely on that and if they consider some witnesses at the party unreliable, they would verify the timeline prior to her return to the party with the same scrutiny as when she returned from her accident.
Also, the story itself is too complicated. If the bf had some people at the party lying for him (like that friend of Adrienne who talked to her outside her apartment), there'd be no need for the "she got out of my car" part, he could simply claim that he dropped her off at her apartment and the other people who are in on it would confirm they saw her. It wouldn't also work as an excuse for "his prints on her phone", IMO, as there can be a million reasons for his prints on her phone, as he was her bf; and if he had anything to do with her disappearance, he could just wipe it clean before throwing it out, something the real perpetrator would most likely do anyway.
Also, the massive barrage of calls to her bf after the accident seem like an overkill (oops) if it was just to set up a scenario. I'd lean toward the assumption that at this point the phone was indeed in her possession and it was she who made the calls.

But then again, it's all assumptions anyway. :sigh:

We do not know that no one saw her out walking around. People may have contacted LE, they would not announce it.

Also a poster looked up a diagram of the apartment floor plan and said that it would not be that difficult to get in and out without being seen for what it is worth, I believe.

According to the initial LE report w/Duggan, Adrienne shared a room upstairs in the 2 story unit. So she had to go up and down the stairs to get out the front or back doors on the first level. Most apts in central, southern Az have an open living/dinning room and kitchen floor plan to be more cost effective with the AC. Didn't see the floor plan, but she probably would have been seen by most on the ground floor going up and down the stairs. The only floor plans I could find were ground level units with no 2nd story.

please forgive me if this has been posted or stated in any articles. I do not recall and am in a time crunch right this minute... what type/color of car does Adrienne's BF drive, anyone recall?

  • #906
I wouldn't be surprised to find his prints on it. I grab my hubby's phone all the time - it takes better pics and has better photo editing.
I just email the pictures to myself and save them on my phone.

AS - posted a "blue" picture.
She also posted about some relationship problems. I assumed it was about this bf then it hit me! How do we know it wasn't another boy? - we don't.

**My questions for the day...

The 911 caller that reported the accident... Have they been asked not to discuss the accident?
Has their voice been played for the cabbie to compare to the voice of who called for the cab ride?

I wonder if anyone else saw this happen, say from the other lane.
What if there was never any wreck? We know the airbags didn't deploy if the car was driven anywhere. (I know certain accidents wouldn't cause them to deploy. )
Could the car have just been disabled to look like it had been wrecked?

Which two tires was it. I have heard the front two and both on the passenger side. Was the car parked so that damage to the passenger side tire damage wouldn't be easily seen?

What is the story with 5th street?

There is a pic of the vehicle on after the wreck where there is obvious damage to the outside sidewall on the drivers side on the photobuket link back on the thread.....can't remember what street that was

What warrants were issued? For what and who?
The AM/PM and O'Reilly videos I can understand, though usually businesses don't have a problem handing those over to LE, but were there others?

Great Post!
Yep, those in AS's circle don't seem to be very concerned, what's up with that?

OK from Adrienne's instagram account she did have GPS location on her phone. She checked in on W Brown, Jaycee Park and North 46th near the Saguaro library... There is an icon 3rd from the left if you click on it you get a map. You can zoom in and see where she was when the photos were taken.

http://www.azleg.state.az.us/search/oop/qfullhit.asp?CiWebHitsFile=/ars/13/01304.htm&CiRestriction=%22kidnapping+%22

This will explain "kidnapping" from the Arizona Revised Statutes:

13-1304. Kidnapping; classification; consecutive sentence

A. A person commits kidnapping by knowingly restraining another person with the intent to:

1. Hold the victim for ransom, as a shield or hostage; or

2. Hold the victim for involuntary servitude; or

3. Inflict death, physical injury or a sexual offense on the victim, or to otherwise aid in the commission of a felony; or

4. Place the victim or a third person in reasonable apprehension of imminent physical injury to the victim or the third person; or

5. Interfere with the performance of a governmental or political function; or

6. Seize or exercise control over any airplane, train, bus, ship or other vehicle.

B. Kidnapping is a class 2 felony unless the victim is released voluntarily by the defendant without physical injury in a safe place before arrest and before accomplishing any of the further enumerated offenses in subsection A of this section in which case it is a class 4 felony. If the victim is released pursuant to an agreement with the state and without any physical injury, it is a class 3 felony. If the victim is under fifteen years of age kidnapping is a class 2 felony punishable pursuant to section 13-705. The sentence for kidnapping of a victim under fifteen years of age shall run consecutively to any other sentence imposed on the defendant and to any undischarged term of imprisonment of the defendant.

So LE doesn't believe she just walked away.........lost my train of thought pulling up the A.R.S.

The thing that sucks is the pings and GPS just tell us where her phone is, not necessarily where SHE is.

Thank you! This is so important IMO.

Can we put what cab guy said above in the case archives?

( I wish I knew how to do that here. Was it crankycrankerson that did it? My Phone app really limits The availability of some info for me.)

I'll PM ya cranky.

The floor plan of her apartment has 2 sets of stairs to go up to the bedroom area. This makes it easier to slip in and out.

Will try and sleuth floor plan now. (while driving to LAX. Joy.)

I don't know if it just a "young person" self-absorbed thing or what...but in several similar cases, friends had very little to say on their pages, seeemd to just carry on with their lives. This case is far from the only one.

You are correct GPS tells us only where the phone is. Not that she is the one in possession of it.

On instagram the map indicates where she was when she took the photos or where she was when she uploaded the photos and posted them.
She would have had to select the option to show her location at the time she posted the photos. It's not automatic.

So it appears she hung out on W Brown with someone because she posted 3 pictures from that location.
W Brown runs parallel to 5th street.
She was between W 3rd and S Hardy... I don't know the area and the map I am seeing isn't satellite photos it just shows boxes indicating her location at the time.
My point is she hung out with someone near where her car was found.

N 46th street is in Scottsdale.

Two sets of stairs?
It looks like the stairs have a landing area and a turn.
There is a closet located under the upper stairs isn't there?

I have no idea!
I have always sucked at reading floor plans.
Eta: It does look like the stairs are right by the front door so I can see how she could slip out without being seen.

You're right, there is only one set of stairs with a landing, the bottom of the stairs are right there next to the front door.

Her car was on Roosevelt and Brown.
W 3rd dead ends before it gets to Hardy but it's North of her apt.
What's around 46rd St. that she was interested in?

Tempe PD thus far has me beating my head against the wall almost as much as the Norton Shores PD had me randomly headbutting trees and other inanimate objects in Jessica Heeringa's case. If they let this case go cold, they are equally inept.
