EXACTLY how I would have done the drive. Someone else posted a route that took you on the 202. Frak that.

Think about it. Think like "the killer". You pick up...Ok I'm going to edit myself...you pick her up. you drive around her neighborhood, pull into a parking lot, "it" goes south, you have to get rid of her NOW (either OMG I RAPED HER AND NOW MUST KILL HER TO COVER UP EVIDENCE or SHE WAS FIGHTING ME, I CHOKED HER AND SHE DIED). Just get on the 60 and go east. There's A LOT of desert there. Get off on Idaho Rd, turn left, hit the Apache Trail, turn right, go as far as your car can go (full disclosure, I drive a 2010 Challenger and have gone all the way thru the Apache Trail with it. First time I did it was in a 1969 Valiant. This tells me when the road got uncomfortable to drive on our unsub stopped when he felt it was too "dangerous" to go on. Young. Inexperienced.) After Lost Dutchman Blvd the 88 gets hilly and there are tight turns. He finds a wash, does a quick dig-n-bury and hes' outta there. During the summer that road is only traveled by people going to Canyon Lake.

Yeah, 20 to 30 miles seems to be the going radius these days. :(

A few nights back, several of us who know the area put our heads together, where would Adrienne be?
We were 16 miles off. When you think how big the general Phoenix area is, and all the different scenarios, places, freeways going in and out of the area? We came up with the Salt River Landfill. Not Mexico, not California, New Mexico, the Salt River Canal.........
We were just 16 miles off......it's almost spooky.

As of now, I think she did wreck, and did call the cab and intend to take it. I think she changed and left items at home on purpose. I don't think she worried about cab fare, or else she had money (I often had cash even when my Dad gave me more) and that she was grabbed or entered a car just before arriving for taxi. I don't think anyone from the party is the killer, though may be someone she knew.

margarita25, LE will get this monster. I've got to believe LE just needed one more piece of the puzzle, and Adrienne has given it to them. I have to believe that......:grouphug:

I am in this boat with two oars and a motor.

Saturday morning, after 5:00 am, I wonder if "it" would feel comfortable heading that way when your jet skiers and boaters are heading out to Canyon Lake? I have to believe "it" KNEW that road, knew that area on either side of Apache Trail, possibly spent time up at Canyon Lake. You want to hit the lake early so you're not driving in the heat. The dirt bikers and horse people are going to be out earlier, but they pack it in by 10:00 am at the latest.
But, I wonder if "it" is Native to the area, because if "it" was, "it" would know about the monsoons and flash floods. If you look at the wash in satellite, it's almost all sand, easy digging, but easier to push up whatever is beneath it when water goes rushing through it.......
I hate this kind of exercise, makes me feel a bit creepy, but it sure makes me think "it" is a complete dumb a$$.

Trouble is, two months is long enough to destroy physical evidence, under some conditions. Finding the victim does not always equal an arrest, as we have seen with Hailey Dunn and Katelyn Markham, even if they have a POI or suspect, both found about five months ago.

Thank you.
It is with such a heavy heart that I stare blank and numb at this thread tonight. Thank you all for sharing in the pursuit of truth to find Adrienne over the last couple months and now tonight the shock and grief of this news. Everyone was filled with passion and determination here and the emotions sometimes ran high but tonight we are all companions united by Adrienne.

Now over the next few days, weeks, months or years-whatever it may be, finding Adrienne's killer and Justice will be the priority. I think LE has many pieces to this crime that they are getting into perfect order-I believe this crime will be solved, I think LE is all over this and like someone else said, they just needed Adrienne to solve this.

To the Salina's family there are no words, but I am so, so sorry.

13 minute announcement by Sgt. Pooley to the press from this afternoon:
http://www.kpho.com/video?clipId=9205453&autostart=true

I'm impressed. I get the idea that he's giving "it" just enough rope to hang themselves.
Playing it close to the vest, he's going to solve this.
JMO, OMO, MOO, as far as LE goes, I don't think Adrienne and her family could have found a better man to be the lead in this case.......

"Pooley said no suspects have been named, and no one has been ruled out in the disappearance of Salinas, including her boyfriend and the cab driver."

http://www.kpho.com/story/23145039/search-ends-for-day-near-possible-remains-of-adrienne-salinas

Exactamundo!!! Pooley said nothing is off the table and no one is off the table. This leaves it open for those who have already been "cleared." Just because they were "cleared" doesn't mean if evidence they find points to one of them, they can't be arrested.

Whoever did this to Adrienne needs to be caught and brought to justice. I don't care WHO they are. And fortunately, neither does LE.

We've got to stay positive! A week ago, we thought Adrienne was going to go to the back burner, where so many other "missing" end up, no updates, no MSM, just silence. But LE was out there busting hump, working on something tangible, and for the last 9 days, it wasn't just Tempe and A.J. PD, it was a multi-agency task force. With this heartbreaking news, they are still making progress.
I have to believe those beautiful pictures of Adrienne and her father, the joy of being together and their love for each other, has touched a chord in many of the LE working this case, as well as all of us here. Adrienne is always going to be Rick's and Suzanne's mijita, maybe it's cultural, maybe it's just love in it's purist form.
My interest in this case was because it was local, and as it progressed, it became something special, Adrienne became special, her family became special. I can't buy into Adrienne being reckless and emotionally distraught the hours before she was taken. There are some statements given to LE about her those last hours which I also do not believe. It still doesn't make sense. I guess I believe Rick, when he said after the car, she just disappeared, because maybe he doesn't believe what has been said. Because I truly believe he KNOWS his daughter, warts and all.
Maybe I have attached myself to this case unwittingly. But I'll be here for the long haul. I will try not to become discouraged. I will continue to hope that everyday, LE will be getting that much closer to nailing the B*****d that did this.
So you kids that stick around for the fireworks, I'm gonna be right here with you!

This might be one of the most profoundly beautiful posts I've ever read here. *pulls up chair to sit next to Bernina; fist-bump*

I woke up this morning and checked Facebook on my phone, and saw AS' missing page had posted to say it would be taken down. So I knew what to expect when I came here, but as Missing is my go-to forum it's still awful to come and find AS in the Located section. :(

I was going to roll over and mope a bit and snooze the alarm, but instead I thought no - I'm getting up to face the day and I'm going to do it well, at work, the gym and at home, because I have the chance to.

I'm not religious, so I won't be praying or talking about heaven and angels, but I hope Adrienne's family can find some closure.

And on a slightly different note.. LET'S FIND US A PERP!!

Well, I'm going to go to bed (12:50 am here!) and mull around the possibilities. Like Pooley said, everyone is being looked at, no "get out of jail free" cards for this case.
