I came here to post as just saw on local news! So glad they got his murderers! This has been a case I've always wondered why not solved yet. Suspects names released! Arrest imminent Jaden M. Kaufman & Richard D Kaufman! Interested if they knew Benjamin or how paths crossed.

Great news! Isn't it kind of strange to announce this prior to the arrest? I wonder if they recommended charges awhile ago and are trying to put pressure on the DA to move forward? Either way, I'm glad to hear an update.

I so hope that finally Ben will receive justice.....it's been 4 years. This is one of those cases I do not forget, so senseless and cruel, and Ben appeared to be such a wonderful person. My thoughts are with all who loved him and I hope too they will find some measure of comfort with this development.

“Anderson's torched car was found a short time later, about 30 miles away in the parking lot of UEI College. MCSO said it has submitted a recommendation to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office that charges be filed against two suspects identified as Jaden Kaufman and Richard Kaufman.” Are these two possibly brothers, or father and son? The article doesn’t mention their connection to Benjamin, so I wonder if this will turn out to have been a completely random crime. Regardless, I hope this means that justice is closer for Benjamin’s friends and family.

This is my local area and I've followed this case. So glad for an arrest.

One of the mentioned suspects, Jaden Kaufman, is incarcerated in AZ for manslaughter committed in 2021. His picture is on the AZ DOC website and shows a young man with dark curly hair. Daniel, Ben's friend who saw Ben's car at the Sheraton parking garage (next to UEI college) around midnight, said he saw 3 people standing next to the car...one was a male with dark curly hair. Another person was a female with blonde hair. Jaden still has an X account (no postings for years) and he has a female friend with long blonde hair. I wonder if police have contacted her?

I checked radaris for Richard D Kaufman and found a listing for someone who's 46 yrs old living in Litchfield Park AZ, so possibly this Richard is Jaden's father. Mother is Jacqueline ...so possibly named the son with the J letter. The Sheraton is on the west side of Phoenix and so is Litchfield Park. Jaden's X account mentions El Mirage AZ which is also on the west side. Sheraton is on west side. Did the dad, Richard, help Jaden bring Ben to where he was found burning (very north and west of Phoenix area in the desert)?? No mugshot of Richard for Maricopa County yet.

Local too and so glad for arrests! The Richard I found is 46, so same age as Ben would be if he were alive so it's possible they knew each other. Jaden is young, possibly graduated high school 2019, so would have been about 20 in 2021. Police found Ben's cell phone in the canal and not sure what data they were able to retrieve to see if the 3 had a connection.

Thanks be to God. I do feel a bit of relief. There are really no words. I have been literally shaking /having internal tremors from the anxiety and trauma this whole thing has brought.

As I read this, my body was still for the first time since I can remember. I hope this leads to closure and some kind of restoration of peace for all of us, and leads to justice for Ben.

Thank you to everyone who has been there, everyone who continued to believe, and to everyone who refused to give up hope.

I cry as I type this. Very emotional news & the most major development to date.

I live north of Phoenix and have been following Ben’s case since it happened. I don’t know Ben but his gruesome murder really upset me. I think about him often, certainly every time I pass the exit for Table Mesa Rd. While LE claimed they ‘were close’ to an arrest earlier this year, I was skeptical. So, I am surprised and relieved that they finally made an arrest, bringing some sense of satisfaction to his family and friends. Praying for swift justice and peace for Ben’s loved ones.

I remember when I read about this tragedy happening. It was around the holidays and I was stuck at home, sick with covid. I live across the country and have absolutely no connection but became obsessed!! (I actually joined this site because of this case) I read everything that I could possibly find about it. I felt a connection to him. We had many commonalities. I felt so bad for his family and friends!! They did everything they possibly could do to find him!! I’m so grateful to hear that they might finally have closure and hopefully justice will be served!!
As far as the case goes, something that I remember reading in the beginning is that Ben possibly went to a drugstore to get a prescription for his parents. When reading the update something that stood out to me was that one of the suspects committed a crime outside of a drugstore! If there was no known connection, maybe it was a random act and this is where they saw Ben?
Ps. I haven’t posted on here for years so I forgot the rules! Not sure if what I posted is allowed but wanted to share my condolences and insight.

I’ve been looking at Facebook. Richard seems to have recently found love and purchased a home. There is a post about Jaden being missing in November 2020. Mother of Jaden is SP. Richard seems to get along with SP and her husband and her kids with husband. I can’t quite figure out what’s going on here. I’m thinking maybe Richard had a shady past, Jaden went down the wrong road and became a real eff-up, dad Richard helped him cover up what he did to poor Benjamin. Regardless of what happened, I’m glad they have been caught, and I wish peace and comfort for Benjamin’s loved ones.

In the video from the local AZ station posted up thread, the news anchor did say that the Walgreen’s at which Jaden committed the assault was close to Ben’s house, so that’s a great thought.

It was such a brazen and brutal crime - robbery and carjacking …maybe drug fueled? Give his criminal history Jaden seems like a really violent person.

I am so relieved that finally finally there’s been an arrest!
