Hoping Dalton makes a good witness for the prosecution, I have not seen an update about his well being.

So from this article, Dalton lived in the home where they were found. Guessing they had to have a search warrant because the home was in someone elses name? does explain how they knew where to go.
I wonder if the father just went to the home to check on the well being of his son and got caught up in this mess.

During an interview with investigators, Dalton Holvig said back on July 9, he was in the backyard when Roberto Bernal, walked up behind him and shot him three times. He said after that, he woke up in the home, zip-tied, and was told he could not leave the property.

Penzone said Dalton Holvig's wounds had gone untreated for some time when he was found.

Chad Holvig, 51, was reported missing on July 11 by a family member after leaving his home in Tonopah to visit his son in Goodyear on July 4, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office said Chad Holvig has not communicated with his family since July 6, which is “reported to be unusual behavior.”

His son, Dalton Holvig, 25, was last seen and heard from on July 10, the Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

The Sheriff’s Office said Chad was last seen driving a 1999 black Dodge Durango.
They said he left his dogs and all of his personal belongings behind.
