If this woman had been a good mother then she would have explained to her kids that what she did was WRONG. Period. No excuses. And she would have never allowed her children to testify. But then again a person who can slaughter another human being cannot be expected to behave in a decent manner.

Lets be real---she would have removed herself and her kids from that situation----Divorce....

You'd have to watch the first or 2nd day of the trial on Youtube, I think LE gave the ages of the girls back then (2009).

We saw all the slinging around of abuse by "parents" in the Arias trial, but no one came forward to accept responsibility. Looks like the same is going to happen here.......because in both cases, it did NOT exist!

There is no reason why these children should not have had counseling to help them through this. I hope someone from the State addresses that the girls are not permitted visitation with their father's relatives. This is just awful for them. jmo

I don't know if they see Dale's side of the family or not. The Doc had said that CMMD didn't see her extended family when she was growing up, but have heard nothing about the children.

Well, since the grandmother will go no where near the stand I'd say they were probably coached. If grandma doesn't take the stand she can't be forced to tell the truth.

Hopefully the State will be permitted to play the phone call between the grandmother and MD where they are discussing how the children will testify. jmo

Excellent point, LambChop! I wonder if this will be part of Dr. DeMarte's analysis? I was prepared for JDM to present her forensic psychological expert testimony on rebuttal, but had forgotten about the phone call.

If the State manages to include it as part of JDM's testimony, IMO it will resonate with this jury. Dr. DeMarte is incredible on the stand. After the daughters' emotional testimony on the stand, it wouldn't hurt, IYKWIM? There are many victims here, but CMMD shouldn't be able to use their pain to mitigate her punishment :moo:

The State read a letter from Dale's twin sister, I believe. And from what I could hear, sound was poor, she was saying they have not been able to see the girls since this happened. jmo
