Okay big REVEAL, with much appreciation to @sfischer over on twitter. Red paint scrape more than likely came from braces that the tow truck company EZ Tow uses when they "right" an overturned vehicle. The attached photo shows EZ tow equipment being used by the Goodyear Fire Department on a mock Training exercise! When S Fischer showed this to McGrath he was not happy. As indicated in the photo, the top lips closely fit the markings on the fender, and that was the fender that was DOWN and would therefore get the bracing as the were pulling it back over in its wheels.

This makes a lot of sense to me. I had been following that thread and someone pointed out how the red paint isn't along the highest point of the dent.. like you would expect from a vehicle crash. As far as I know no testing determined the paint was from another vehicle.

Thank you! I felt like the red paint was somewhat of a non-issue anyway. They blow up the area to make it seem like a lot of paint - hence another vehicle in an accident. However, when you see how little paint there is, it doesn't seem like part of an accident to me. Such a small amount of paint in a weird place. This REVEAL makes a lot of sense! Thank you again!

Excellent info! Not surprised McGrath wasn't happy to have part of his theory debunked. That won't pay the bills.

KSBW reports yesterday that a Santa Cruz woman rear ends other car on highway 1, then walks over to cliff and falls (or jumps) into ocean. Could this be a similar thing to DR situation? If so, what is causing it?

I think it's called depression.... :)

There is also a story, also on Highway 1 ?!, I think in Northern Cali or Oregon from several years ago. A motorcyclist hit a turkey at night, slid into guardrail. No blood at scene but over the guardrail a small gap in underbrush, every few feet a portion of his clothing. They found him several hundred yards further 3/4 of the way down a cliff. Lifeguard Rescue and Coast guard had to stage below and climb up. Then airlift to hospital. Found the link...
Motorcyclist who jumped naked from Hwy. 1 cliff says he swerved to avoid turkey

Yes, could be depression; could be brain injury, shock, vision disturbance from injury.

We may never know.

Reviewing the pictures at that link it looks like the Fire Brigade are the ones using the braces, I don't think EZ Tow use braces like that to right an overturned vehicle, they just use a flatbed truck with a tilting bed, like this:
I think the paint smear may still have some significance although we will have no clue until a sample is taken and analyzed. Have the Robinson team done that yet I wonder?
Regarding S Fischer on Twitter he did post on Jan 4 about the 'Bill' person being a fake federal agent but I didn't see anything about red paint scrapes.

Agreed! But if we did accept the 'undress and disappear' hypothesis for DR, basing it on other very similar cases, some of which are mentioned upthread, then that could change the search area significantly.

Not sure when he posted it but he said he posted it. (good catch BTW, I initially questioned him on his source Goodyear FD Facebook page). He indicated the training exercise was a "joint" operation and that EZ tow was being thanked in the Goodyear FD post. On "Ice Road" truckers and those other shows they seem to carry similar equipment. And EZ tow is based in the west Valley near the interstate where they would have calls for semi breakdowns and possibly overturns.
I think the point is well taken that some kind of bracing would be used, whether LE, FD or EZ Tow provided.

I can't imagine David would have sprung for such an analysis.

ICYMI, McGrath is no longer involved. Only Even Short, logistics Coordinator remains, not sure of attorney Jay Calhoun.

How so...Remember many think he had a change of clothes in car, I.e. athletic shoes, shorts, extra tee (maybe?)...and it was not searingly hot that afternoon. That terrain would be about 2 mph. That's what makes it so odd...like he didn't want to be found.

It was the intent prior to Christmas of Buckeye PD to re-interview Bill H. Based on behavior by Bill H. on-line (going quite), there is an assumption that has occurred.

Besides the inflating of Bill H credentials which I think actually happened on the Robinson Team side, there were many inconsistencies in his accounts forwarded to Buckeye PD. For me in particular, I texted Det. Biffin his continued comments about sun angles, and time of day which did not match the weather and time of day (it being the second longest day of the year and a sun angle of 80% at it's zenith....per my The Photographers Ephemeris app)

Even with a truck with a tilting bed, you still have to somehow upright the vehicle before loading it onto the truck.

Good point. I don't know much about vehicle recovery but turns out there are a ton of videos on YT about this for example
The general technique seems to be a short length of chain to connect the vehicle and then a wire cable back to the winch on the truck. What do we think about the possibility that the paint transfer could have been from the hook on the end of the wire cable where they connect to the chain? Some of them seem to be painted red and looked like they had many scars, they must be transferring that paint somewhere.

Not sure of the exact search area so far, based on what I saw earlier MOO further West? Also, the pivoting of focus into homeless encampments is actually indicating "we looked thoroughly and could not find, so DR is not there" which as we found in the cases of Heather Dingley, Philip Kreylick and Jamie Grimwood, is simply not true.

So it still seems to me....but further West indicates either a tip (valid or not they seem to pursue anything that comes in) or David finally thinks his son literally wanted to be "gone". West or NW is the most remote direction to walk.
The homeless camps were suggested early on (like late July, early August) but to no avail. Why starting in December I have no insight. The only way I can see that paying off is delusional from head injury. If he made it out, MOO he is roaming the earth like Caine in Kung Fu.

Search for Daniel Robinson: 7 months after disappearance, family of missing geologist still trying to find him (fox10phoenix.com)
It has been seven months since geologist Daniel Robinson was last seen, and on Jan. 14, a day when Robinson would have celebrated his 25th birthday, his father was preparing to search abandoned mines and underground wells in the desert for his son.

[...]

David has reached out to Buckeye Police officials, asking investigators to put a team together to search three vertical mines in the area.

"I’m asking for cadaver dogs of the Buckeye Police Department to search those mines," said David. "They need to get air in those mines to get the air moving, so the dogs can work properly."

Volunteers will also be conducting line searches, with the efforts fueled by David's desperation and determination.

[...]

The search on Jan. 15 will be the 22nd search event David has organized. Meanwhile, Buckeye Police officials say investigators have been in contact with Daniel's family about tomorrow’s search. The department did not confirm what kind of resources they will be providing, but did say officers want to ensure search operations are safe.
