@JJ Ray , yes I saw your comments, thank you for the clarifications. What I am wondering is if LE had the presence of mind to photograph any full or partial prints around the Jeep and clothing before one or more responding officers and detectives walked through them. Without prejudice towards LE, my experience over the years has been that most SAR teams have more knowledge regarding the critical nature of foot prints in an outdoor environment and how to preserve them than some responding LE officers do. LE training on this subject varies quite a bit. On some natural surfaces and materials, it takes a very trained eye to detect partial prints, scrapes and disturbances like "stone rolls". Each full or partial print can contain over 100 indicators that show speed, weight, mental state, carrying something, etc. Most folks "look" at tracks to determine shoe sole pattern and direction of travel. I "read" all the indicators present to determine who the individual was, what they were up to and where they were headed. Those indicators also appear in bare footprints, even the toe print depths provide information. I wonder if any photographs that may have been taken provide the clues to what happened?
