GUILTY AZ - Daniel Rodriguez, 29, fatally shot by Phoenix PD officer, 5 Oct 2010 #3

Seriously, how long do any of you think a cop lasts in prison? One who killed a Hispanic man? In a prison system run from the inside by predominantly Hispanic gangs? Think about it.......if he goes into PC, he's with the child molesters.......
And how many of his buddies in Blue are going to go visit him? That just adds more fuel to the fire for the other inmates.
I hope Blakely will convince the jury to give beyond the maximum sentencing guidelines.

Either way, Chrisman is toast.

He might go to a special prison? idk

I am wondering.. if retried and found guilty would his sentence be added to this sentence or would this sentence be counted towards the m2 sentence. That would factor into whether they retry imo.

That's a good question. I believe in the Bryan Stewart case in AZ, his murder sentence was added on top of his fraud sentence adding up to about 50 years in prison. I think the same would happen here since they are different charges.

I have to be thankful of the jurors who at least got this much. If it was indeed a "compromise" verdict like I think, then the jurors who compromised from the not-guilty standpoint could have easily not budged on this either. But somehow the others managed to convice them....they knew they couldn't let Chrisman walk away free.

I am very thankful for this, not that I've had a little time to think and breathe!! LOL! It could have easily been HUNG on ALL counts.

Or not guilty because they were collectively too scared to nail a cop. For their courage I am immensely satisfied and have some hope another jury can actually finish the job and convict him of what he did that day.

Not asking for anything else, just what he did that afternoon. I don't think it's too much to ask because all of us civilians would be held accountable for our actions. Esp. if they resulted in the death of another.

Juror 1 misunderstood the question judge asked him and says he does agree with guilty verdict for aggravated assault

Juan did a great job. I don't think there are many prosecutors who could have gotten what he got in this case. Very hard to try a cop without video evidence and even then it's very hard to get the max charge. He got a hung on murder. That's pretty good.

Hey, juror 1 said she misunderstood question and does agree with assault verdict. Cool beans. Jen said she thought she was prostate probably with good reason so that makes sense.

I suppose that would be up to the judge, or of JM has his way, up to the jury. lol

Juan says juror #1 can come back now that he has understood question. Judge rules he's back on jury as alternate..#RichardChrisman

Alternate, Zuri. So what happened was, the jury has to remain on for the next part of the trial (Blakley or whatever it's called). That means alternates have to stay on. But for the alternates to stay on, they have to agree with the jury's finding of GUILTY AGG. ASSAULT, b/c the next phase of trial is gonna be dealing with this. If they don't agree on even the "GUILTY" part, then they can't continue. B/c if one of the jurors was dismissed and this alternate was put on, the whole process would get stuck/unfair.

So judge asked them indi. if they agree with jury's verdict on Count 2 GUILTY. and she said NO. Can u beliebe?

Oh thank you aa. I really appreciate your spelling it out for me. I now understand.

As far as RC wife sobbing, I get it. It is a loss. Not the same kind DR family have endured, but a loss all the same. She has 4 children that have "lost" their dad for a yet to be determined length of time. She has lost her "support" structure. Her "dreams" for the future have been shattered. All because her husband made a very wrong decision. The actions of one has fallout on all sides. I have tried to teach this very same principle to my children. Everything they do is a direct reflection on us and at times a negative impact. We are left to clean up the mess. So Mrs. Chrisman is left with the daunting task that so many single moms face. I truly doubt this is what she had in mind when she said "I Do". JMV

Uh oh. Stealth juror? Minimal sentence? But he remains an alternate right?

  • #714
Defense asking for continuance. Probably will be granted.

  • #715
Now, will the jury hear about Chrisman being on the Brady list?

Just as an aside: The alternate that was excused may very well have thought Chrisman was guilty of Murder 2, but not Ag Assault......? We'll have to see when the MSM gets their mitts on him/her.
"Hung" is NOT "not guilty" and maybe we'll get to find out what the breakdown was on their votes. There could have been 1 or maybe 3 hold outs....it should be interesting.

I believe juror 1. She is still an alternate but I believe she genuinely didn't understand.

Is this hearing being live-streamed anywhere, the one that is going on right now?

Thank goodness!

Yes, also nerves played a part probably b/c all of a sudden the judge is speaking directly to her in front of everyone and asking a question and she was not prepared for it...
