DETECTIVES WORKING TO IDENTIFY DECAYING BODY FOUND OUTSIDE FLAGSTAFF

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Coconino County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in identifying a dead body found near Woody Mountain Road last week.

Deputies with the Sheriff's Office said the body was found on Tuesday, April 24 by a person driving by in the area. The body could not be immediately identified because it had been exposed to elements, but detectives said they believe the dead person is an adult male with a light skin tone.

CCSO is investigating the case as a homicide. Detectives said they believe the victim was murdered at another location then dumped on the Woody Mountain Road area. They believe the body has been left in the area for several months.

Detectives are asking anyone who has information contact the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office at 1-800-338-7888 or Silent Witness at 928-774-6111.
