I can't see an attorney really saying that. You would think he would be encouraging her to talk and try to get a plea deal. If it is possible for him to be produced. The lawyer on Levi Page's show last night was asked what he would advice EJ if she were his client and he said something like help all you can and make a deal, unless she killed him and then he would advise her to keep quiet.
I remember that from last night too. While the advice that finding Gabriel won't automatically lessen the kidnapping charge is true, as you said, if Gabriel is alive, the lawyer should be approaching someone with an offer. MOO

Lawyer wants a deal is my guess. If investigators want Gabriel, then make a deal she can't refuse. Just playing games with a babies life.....

On the other hand, if she has been offered a deal and refused it....then Gabriel is probably dead.

I think this rules out her knowing nothing about a random couple.
I think this rules out the description.

If not, she'd be saying "I told the polices everything I know.... I met a random couple and they took him"

I am also worried that she thinks 20 years for kidnapping is a lot better then life for murder.

I'm wondering why she ditched the car and took the bus to Florida. Since she had the car and money for gas, why didn't she just drive the car?

She knew that LE would be looking for it nationwide ... :) Welcome Jan to WS !

My opinion- Because they (LE) knew the license plate number, and they knew the discription of the car, she knew people would be on the look out for the car.

By that time she knew they would put out a apb for her car. Easy dump, right across the street at the hotel so she didn't have to walk far.

Whatever day Tammi told EJ she could not change jurisdiction and to come back is when this entire plan changed. That is when EJ decided not to come back and make her own plan without TS. I have no doubt in my mind that TS to begin with was behind getting EJ out of AZ to somewhere where they thought they could dupe the legal system and adopt Baby Gabe at some point but that all changed..

EJ is the only one imo that knows where the baby is or at least what she did with him, she was mad because things were not going her way so she made it her way.
moo..

It will all be exposed soon.

Don't know if this has been posted yet or not. (53 minutes ago)

EJ's grandfather visited her today?!
http://www.kpho.com/news/22266828/detail.html

On Monday, she saw her grandfather for the first time.

Elizabeth Johnson refuses to say where 8-month-old Gabriel is, even though her friends and family keep asking her to open up. She told her grandfather her lawyers say helping find her baby won't help her.

Bob Johnson hasn't been face to face with his granddaughter since police said she took off with her little boy last month. On Monday, Johnson sat down with Elizabeth Johnson in the Estrella Jail.

The 23-year-old's grandfather had a lot of questions for Elizabeth.

Johnson said, "Most of the things I wanted to ask her, she said she can't talk about."

Johnson said for the most part, Elizabeth is keeping her mouth shut. He said she told him her lawyers told her not to say anything.

Johnson said, "They told me kidnapping is kidnapping and she's gonna get 20 years ."

Bob said Elizabeth doesn't know why she'd help investigators since her lawyers told her she's going to prison for 20 years no matter what she does to help them.

At best, this is a kidnapping case with a child found. At worst, this could turn into a murder investigation. Bob hopes that isn't the case. He said Elizabeth may be the only one who can answer questions about her son's whereabouts.

"That's the message I left today," Johnson said. "Quicker they find that baby, quicker you get out of here; it's that simple."

My thoughts exactly.

This would really only apply if he's no longer alive. Says a lot, imo.

This new conversation between EJ and her grandfather at the jail is like a punch in the gut. MOO, the most telling evidence so far that Gabriel is no longer with us. :(

Also since EJ used cl alot, I found this ad about hostel in Miami area

http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/vac/1523209421.html

The hostel she stayed at was identified in one of the earlier threads. IIRC, it was on 20th Street on Miami Beach. This is north of Lincoln Road and definitely not in the "heart" of SoBe. It looks like some apartments that were converted to low-cost hotel/hostel as one poster mentioned.

FWIW, the only public transportation EJ could have used to get to SoBe is the bus. She could have taken tri-rail to the Miami airport (haven't looked at a map to see where the bus station is in Lauderdale) and then caught a bus to the beach. The metro doesn't go there, nor does the people mover (that just circles around downtown). And, there is no bus "station" on SoBe, but there are many bus stops.

IMO, I think she met someone who told her about this place -- I don't think she found it beforehand. Also, want to mention that she was there on New Year's and at that time, hotel rooms on SoBe are hard to find.

The Tempe Police Department says that when baby Gabriel first went missing, they had "strong indicators" that he was still alive and in good health. But they say now, those indicators are not nearly as strong.

I hope they charge her with murder. She will see there are worse things then being convicted of kidnapping. Hopefully she would give up the baby to save her life, but that isn't certain.

I wonder if either grandpa, the press, or Elizabeth left out a couple of words there to make sense of this now that I reread it all. Sounds to me like helping find her baby won't help unless they give her something in return on the 20 years. I'll try to take that as also meaning, she really thinks and her lawyers think this is not going to be a murder case. On the other hand, I guess her lawyers may not be making as much an effort to make a deal if they know LE/FBI has some indication Gabriel is dead - I just don't think that makes sense either. I sense Elizabeth just did not put as much effort into getting grandpa to understand as we would like and was really just telling him she was not suppose to tell him anything so quit asking.

This Wednesday is the deadline.

I apologize for not staying up on all the posts due to muscle spasms in my back so can only sit here for only so long at a sitting. I missed what this deadline is about. ???

Didn't Baez say the same thing to KC about finding the baby wouldn't help her case!
Because he KNEW CAYLEE was dead...........this reminds me of the same thing!

BTW I REALLY thought EJ would break down to grandpa........I really did.
She is a spiteful beech!!! also...........

Thank you for this link, Very interesting- and to me, very telling, also.

Some quotes:

Elizabeth's Grandfather said, "Most of the things I wanted to ask her, she said she can't talk about".

She told him, "her lawyers say helping find her baby won't help her".

"They told her kidnapping is kidnapping, and she's going to get twenty years".

~ I'm sorry, but I am back to being convinced Gabriel is dead. Damn.

I've got a couple threads to read to get caught up again but wanted to get the news for today first.

I have to agree, at this point, I think she has done the unthinkable.
(Remember how quickly they found baby Shannon still alive and hidden under a babysitter/friend's bed in a friggin box? It was within a couple of days)

So, her brother did not get in to see her? That is too bad as I think if he went without the darn news crews, she might talk as they seem to be closest.

I hate to feel this way but I do think it's too late for Gabe and I DO BLAME TS for this nightmare. The pressure she must've put onto EJ under the guise of a caring "friend" was probably as over the top as we see her behavior. This is not to say that EJ isn't responsible for the ultimate act but I believe it was TS who "pushed her over the ledge" and NOT LM.

Of course, she won't ever take responsibility for her part in baby Gabe's demise, but I sure hope that LE makes it clear that she is and charge her for her part in the conspiracy against his daddy and obstruction. At the very least.

How sad.
