It's been so long since I was her age I can't begin to think of what kids that age think is "cool".

I rarely watch TV so I'm not even familiar with the popular shows. Are there any shows for 20-somethings that glamorize Miami Beach?

She likes fashion. I wear tshirts and sweats and knit leggings. Not a clue if there's a fashion connection in Miami Beach.

Are there shows on MTV about Miami Beach?

I'm so lost on what the appeal would be.

Well I'm a few years older than her, and a little out of touch with this stuff myself. But I'm pretty sure Miami Beach is big for raves, electronic music, and clubs. Not sure if that is EJ's thing or not though.

I know that it is a spring break hot spot, party town, at least they always make Miami Beach seem that way...Even CSI makes it look like fun.

As for fashion, maybe, but I don't think she's that into fashion. Seems more likely she would head for California if that were her motivation.

could she have taken public transit from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami Beach?

I don't know where they run down there, I know in St. Louis you can ride from East St. Louis IL. all the way out to "west county" which is at least 40 miles.

Thanks Panthera. After I posted, I remembered a joke that people from Utah don't measure distance in miles, but in time. I've lived in Dallas for almost 10 years and I still measure in time. Weird.

Tornado doesn't go to Miami Beach. It would have been another form of transportation. Local Buses, taxi, etc. She could even have hitched.

I have been trying to think of reasons she would show up in Fl. It seems as if FL like New York is a melting pot of people. I wonder if she thought maybe she would just "fit in" better down there. No one would look at her and think, is that the woman that ran off with her baby? People are more into themselves and they don't get into other peoples business.

ETA: I didn't mean into themselves like Tammi is into herself, but that people just mind their own business.

Okay, this isn't exactly in the flow of conversation, but I just wanted to explain to the Texans here why some of us can't seem to shake the idea that San Antonio is not on the way to Miami. Maybe others have a similar mental map to mine, that puts San Antonio south of a direct route to Florida, and makes it seem like EJ went way out of her way to go to San Antonio.

When I try really hard to picture the route as it really is, I think it's possible that EJ just got tired of traveling with a baby when she got to San Antonio, and wanted either for Logan to sign the papers so she could go back to Arizona or, if he wouldn't sign, to continue traveling without Gabriel.

When I 1st heard about this case a couple wks ago, with the details eventually coming out regarding EJ and LM and GJ seemingly caught innocently in the middle as well as all the other gradual "bombshells" that've trickled in recently from LE and the news, i.e. handing GJ off to complete strangers at the park, the alleged "babysitter", EJ's anger mgmt and alleged mental issues, her originally discussing adoption possibilities for the baby both before/after he was born, EJ never having wanted GJ, and suddenly just disappearing with no one really knowing her exact whereabouts for days on end, coupled with her changing stories, weird, unhelpful behavior with LE, emotional detachment from GJ, etc made me think of the Anthony case in spades. I do believe EJ and CA could very well be new BFF's ... birds of a tragic feather.
